My wife was my best friend ever. She died on January 18 2023. This song says everything I miss about her. Her body shape, the dull colour of her eyes, her jokes, her smiles and laughter, her patience and humility, her devotion to God and her beauty kill me. I lost my wife of 34 years in March 2021. I held her hand, wiped her lips from drying, as she drew her last breathes. Our son stayed with me at the hospital, he too experienced his mother passing. Our daughter could not handle the last hours of her mother's life, she choose not be present. I cared for my wife the last four years of her life. It was some of the best times. I was Blessed to have Cheryl in my life for 36 years, having two beautiful children and now two grand kids. Cheryl missed out on what we waited for, our daughter's wedding, the birth of twins, and our son getting married in October 2023. I hurts me so much to know she was not here, the most important dreams we had. I am thankful God took her as she was tired and in pain. I did not want her to go but knew she was ready. I have never missed another like I miss her. I am sadden knowing I will never have the happiness like I had, ever again.

I lost my best friend, we lost our oldest daughter due to a birth defect, then he was killed in a semi accident six months later. After he was gone two weeks later I found out that I was going to have our second child, this was 31 years ago. Our son is 30 now and has a 3 year old of his own. I thank the good Lord everyday that a part of him was left behind because I was supposed to be with him that night, so God does know what he's doing. My Wife came from a large Family. I had a small Family. At first She lost her brother in law, 2 months later she lost her Dad, 4 months later, her Nephew was killed by having a heart attack while driving. His Dad had a heart attack while working on his truck, the night before he had to go to work. Her Dad passed from heart problems as well as other medical problems. It was so hard on her Sister. 4 yrs later, after losing 3 of her best friends, she was diagnosed with Cancer. My Wife and I believe she died from a broken heart, she fought for 2 yrs. Then suddenly every year since, We have been going to funerals several times a year. I felt the pain they were going through. I really felt it when my best friend, who was like my Brother, was killed, then my Mother passed from Cancer not even a year later. Then Our Children started losing their best friends, especially during the time of the War from 9-11. And some of their "best friends " that did make it home, as their Parents would say, their bodies came home, their hearts, Souls, and minds were still where they lost so many "best friends". They remind Us, how Blessed, We are to still have each other, and Our best Friends. In 2020, I lost my Grandmother, 3 days later, I went to pick up my Grandfather to go Meet my Aunt to make the funeral arrangements. As I was helping him get dressed, I noticed he had lumps and bruises all over his legs and arms. I called my Aunt and explained that I felt We should take him to the Dr's, before We went to make the funeral arrangements. My Aunt called my Grandfather's Dr. He suggested We take my Grandfather to the hospital. We did, he was immediately admitted. 3 days later, We were told, he had Cancer and only had days to live. He passed away 13 days from the day my Grandmother passed. We had a double service. 4 months later, my Aunts husband was diagnosed with Cancer for a second time. He passed 7 days later. I only have my Dad, who lives in Florida, my Aunt and a Sister left from my side. Our lives have changed so much within 20 years. So many family members and friends have past on. We try to explain to People who are blessed to have Grandparents, Parents, Siblings, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles and Friends still alive, go visit them, none of us are promised another second, let alone another day, month or year.

My wife of 35 years passed on 9/3/20 after 4 1/2 years in a nursing home due to a stroke 4 days before Christmas 2015. She was 54. We only live a mile from the nursing home so I saw her every day after work until covid. I only saw her through a window from mid-March until she died. I called her every day right up until about 4 or 5 days before. One nurse told me " I now believe it's possible to die from a broken heart. All she ever wanted was to see you." She was and still is my best friend. I MISS YOU MY SWEET ANGEL, MY FRIEND. FLY HIGH, BABY, FLY HIGH.

I worked in a nursing home doing matianence for 27 years and I had to leave the job 10 months ago because I couldnt stand how they were treating the residents due to covid . For sure your wife died do to covid restrictions . It was heart breaking watching residents suffer , when all that needed to be done was for family members to stay away if they had even a little sniffle and all they needed was to be tested before entry . sorry for what you had to suffer through . Going forward focus on your inner heart eye and you will be able to connect with your wife through your inner spirit . People think Im crazy but over the years Ive heard spirits in the nursing home in the night and I also knew exactly when someone just passed away . One of the nurses was even better than me at it and always saw the ghost ore what I call your inner soul leave the room of the resident seconds before their heart stopped . My wife passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago this coming Monday. I’ve tried so many times to put into words how that’s affected me. And there are none that cover it. When she died apart of me also died. I’m just on autopilot. I know that’s selfish but it’s how I feel. People have told me life goes on. All I can say is I hope and pray they never have to go through anything like that.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my love, my heart, my soul to brain cancer in 06. Ten years later and the pain is just as fresh and terrible as the day she died. For me there has been no light, no love, no happiness since that day. I have kept one promise to her but have broken another. I haven't killed myself so we can be together (the promise I've kept) but there hasn't been any one else. I tried to date again the first time was 2 1/2 years after and we were having dinner and I started crying. My date, well she understood, she said she wished her ex-husband had loved her the way I still love Kim. The next "date" was about 3 years after my first attempt. I tried but she saw the pain and hurt in my eyes. She had lost her husband to a drunk driver so she knew what I was going through. We ended up becoming good friends (no benefits) and remain as such. +Kari Mullen i honestly dont know i think having the ability to get lost in raising my 2 year olds helped. then it becomes just one day at a time. lots of prayer even if you dont believe or feel mad. i dont really know for sure it hurts very mad every day and you learn to live with that pain, the pain doesnt go away though. and be ready for both sides of the family to act crazy and for people to wonder why you not over it. its a very hard road but we have to be strong because they would want us to be strong and continue our lives as fullfilling as we can. im truly sorry for your loss and for what you are going through. there are also widow groups on facebook that help me a little but i have a hard time leaning on anyone.

The only comments I've seen with such compassion for others and there struggles. The world needs sad songs. It's okay to cry. I had to leave the woman of my dreams. Not her fault. It's mine because I cheated in the first few months and she forgave me and we went on to be so happy and make so many memories but with love comes hurt and despite her efforts to forget you could see it when she was angry. Small things began to make her irritated and she began to talk to me like a child. I can't tell you how hard this is to know she's not gone but still having to leave her. 6years 1 child to add to our other 4 (2each)! And a lifetime of memories that I feel will never allow me to care for another. I thought I had done the right thing. I became such a better man and father. I learned from mistakes and we thrived but she never learned to be sorry for her mistakes and i held on as long as I could. She can't see what I've been through and I understand. Its the absolute worst to have to mourn the absence of a person that is still alive. At least in death the person didn't have a choice. If they did, they would have never left.

I lost my wife of 34 years in March 2021. I held her hand, wiped her lips from drying, as she drew her last breathes. Our son stayed with me at the hospital, he too experienced his mother passing. Our daughter could not handle the last hours of her mother's life, she choose not be present. I cared for my wife the last four years of her life. It was some of the best times. I was Blessed to have Cheryl in my life for 36 years, having two beautiful children and now two grand kids. Cheryl missed out on what we waited for, our daughter's wedding, the birth of twins, and our son getting married in October 2023. I hurts me so much to know she was not here, the most important dreams we had. I am thankful God took her as she was tired and in pain. I did not want her to go but knew she was ready. I have never missed another like I miss her. I am sadden knowing I will never have the happiness like I had, ever again.

I lost my best friend, we lost our oldest daughter due to a birth defect, then he was killed in a semi accident six months later. After he was gone two weeks later I found out that I was going to have our second child, this was 31 years ago. Our son is 30 now and has a 3 year old of his own. My Wife came from a large Family. I had a small Family. At first She lost her brother in law, 2 months later she lost her Dad, 4 months later, her Nephew was killed by having a heart attack while driving. His Dad had a heart attack while working on his truck, the night before he had to go to work. Her Dad passed from heart problems as well as other medical problems. It was so hard on her Sister. 4 yrs later, after losing 3 of her best friends, she was diagnosed with Cancer. My Wife and I believe she died from a broken heart, she fought for 2 yrs. Then suddenly every year since, We have been going to funerals several times a year. I felt the pain they were going through. I really felt it when my best friend, who was like my Brother, was killed, then my Mother passed from Cancer not even a year later. Then Our Children started losing their best friends, especially during the time of the War from 9-11. And some of their "best friends " that did make it home, as their Parents would say, their bodies came home, their hearts, Souls, and minds were still where they lost so many "best friends". They remind Us, how Blessed, We are to still have each other, and Our best Friends. In 2020, I lost my Grandmother, 3 days later, I went to pick up my Grandfather to go Meet my Aunt to make the funeral arrangements. As I was helping him get dressed, I noticed he had lumps and bruises all over his legs and arms. I called my Aunt and explained that I felt We should take him to the Dr's, before We went to make the funeral arrangements. My Aunt called my Grandfather's Dr. He suggested We take my Grandfather to the hospital. We did, he was immediately admitted. 3 days later, We were told, he had Cancer and only had days to live. He passed away 13 days from the day my Grandmother passed. We had a double service. 4 months later, my Aunts husband was diagnosed with Cancer for a second time. He passed 7 days later. I only have my Dad, who lives in Florida, my Aunt and a Sister left from my side. Our lives have changed so much within 20 years. So many family members and friends have past on. We try to explain to People who are blessed to have Grandparents, Parents, Siblings, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles and Friends still alive, go visit them, none of us are promised another second, let alone another day, month or year.

My wife of 35 years passed on 9/3/20 after 4 1/2 years in a nursing home due to a stroke 4 days before Christmas 2015. She was 54. We only live a mile from the nursing home so I saw her every day after work until covid. I only saw her through a window from mid-March until she died. I called her every day right up until about 4 or 5 days before. One nurse told me " I now believe it's possible to die from a broken heart. All she ever wanted was to see you." She was and still is my best friend. I MISS YOU MY SWEET ANGEL, MY FRIEND. FLY HIGH, BABY, FLY HIGH.

I worked in a nursing home doing matianence for 27 years and I had to leave the job 10 months ago because I couldnt stand how they were treating the residents due to covid . For sure your wife died do to covid restrictions . It was heart breaking watching residents suffer , when all that needed to be done was for family members to stay away if they had even a little sniffle and all they needed was to be tested before entry . sorry for what you had to suffer through . Going forward focus on your inner heart eye and you will be able to connect with your wife through your inner spirit . People think Im crazy but over the years Ive heard spirits in the nursing home in the night and I also knew exactly when someone just passed away . One of the nurses was even better than me at it and always saw the ghost ore what I call your inner soul leave the room of the resident seconds before their heart stopped . So take care and again sorry for your loss .

Sometimes when somebody leaves your life, it leaves a hole in your heart which can never be filled. I miss my grandpa. He passed on 20 years ago, and I still miss him like it was yesterday. Well I lost loves one too..my dad 7 years ago whom i dearly miss every single day and now my bf who let go of our relationship. I was heart broken till now and I miss him every single day too. It seems in life, we will be tested again and again to feel pain from emotional loss buy I guess thats life. Its the memories they left behind that make each journey unique.
My mom was my my only parent growing up. She comforted me, bandaged my scrapes, and would sing me to sleep. Mom has been gone now since a couple weeks after 9/11. She was my rock,and she loved me. So blessed to have had her, but the hole Is massive.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my love, my heart, my soul to brain cancer in 06. Ten years later and the pain is just as fresh and terrible as the day she died. For me there has been no light, no love, no happiness since that day. I have kept one promise to her but have broken another. I haven't killed myself so we can be together (the promise I've kept) but there hasn't been any one else. I tried to date again the first time was 2 1/2 years after and we were having dinner and I started crying. My date, well she understood, she said she wished her ex-husband had loved her the way I still love Kim. The next "date" was about 3 years after my first attempt. I tried but she saw the pain and hurt in my eyes. She had lost her husband to a drunk driver so she knew what I was going through. We ended up becoming good friends (no benefits) and remain as such. So, I have failed to keep promise #2. I miss you KIMSL, my heart, it seems will accept no substitute.

I can relate to almost every verse in this song when I think about the loss of my husband Shawn.
He was my everything, my strength, my support, & I miss my friend every single day & night.
I sit here posting this at 3 in the morning, because since September 26, 2020, one of the hardest things I've had to deal with since the death of my husband, is going to bed alone, & waking up in that same bed alone. I have been getting by on only a few hours sleep for almost three years & that won't change, as I don't want to spend anymore time alone in the bed we shared, than I have to!

+Kari Mullen i honestly dont know i think having the ability to get lost in raising my 2 year olds helped. then it becomes just one day at a time. lots of prayer even if you dont believe or feel mad. i dont really know for sure it hurts very mad every day and you learn to live with that pain, the pain doesnt go away though. and be ready for both sides of the family to act crazy and for people to wonder why you not over it. its a very hard road but we have to be strong because they would want us to be strong and continue our lives as fullfilling as we can. im truly sorry for your loss and for what you are going through. there are also widow groups on facebook that help me a little but i have a hard time leaning on anyone.

Even though these comments are filed with pain and sorrow it also nice to see strangers coming together to comfort one another. The only comments I've seen with such compassion for others and there struggles. The world needs sad songs. It's okay to cry. I had to leave the woman of my dreams. Not her fault. It's mine because I cheated in the first few months and she forgave me and we went on to be so happy and make so many memories but with love comes hurt and despite her efforts to forget you could see it when she was angry. Small things began to make her irritated and she began to talk to me like a child. I can't tell you how hard this is to know she's not gone but still having to leave her. 6years 1 child to add to our other 4 (2each)! And a lifetime of memories that I feel will never allow me to care for another. I thought I had done the right thing. I became such a better man and father. I learned from mistakes and we thrived but she never learned to be sorry for her mistakes and i held on as long as I could. She can't see what I've been through and I understand. Don't take anyone for granted because you will wish you hadn't. I really truly miss my friend. I love you always. Sorry for the pain I caused you

I always loved this video. It's even more meaningful this 2022. Between March - August, I lost my dog of 15 1/2 years, my ex girlfriend, my best friend, my Aunt, a childhood friend and a mining buddy now is diagnosed with brain cancer. It's a lot to handle.
