  • Hi, grown ups!
If you’d like to do this craft along with us, you can download and print the image of a jar here: drive.google.c...
    Some tips for this activity
-Talk about what flowers are okay or not okay to pick before you get outside! If your little learner is not likely to grasp what’s okay and not, you could use a bouquet of pre-cut flowers!
-We chose dandelions because they are abundant! Nobody is likely to be mad if a little learner happens to accidentally grab one out of someone’s yard, the environmental impact of plucking the flowers is low, and because the plant itself is nontoxic (edible, even) if it ends up in the mouths of kids or pets (pesticides and herbicides used in lawns are another story, of course).
-Keep it simple - modify this activity in any way that works for you: done is better than perfect! You could just draw the jar or even just poke holes in cardboard. You could print off the jar and color on the printer paper. Do what you can! You’re doing great!
-Put spent dandelions into the compost and reuse your craft! Or let the dandelions dry out and blow the seeds outside!
    What it teaches:
    -Planning
    -Instruction following
    -Fine motor skills
    -Pre-writing skills
    -Problem solving
-And, we can hope, a love for nature!
