Very well put together video. I commend you for going through potions and elixirs and even putting together builds (the spewer is my favourite). I love that in pffff-to potions and elixirs have good applications (fast healing, temp hp and resistance) that can make for excellent support even without spells. Thx for the video, good luck with future endeavours.
I am grateful to hear that; quite encouraging. Videos that are informative like this are kind of boring and dry but they are useful. I hope that you can enjoy making some interesting or just f****** weird familiars or companions out of this. 🤪
I played a One shot (that was a two shot really) with a high level witch with enhanced familiar (free archetype) where the Familiar with speech was the main character controlling the witch and giving them power :') Witches are super fun.
What a great idea I had never thought of giving a potion to a familiar I will have to try that! And then I remembered that my familiar is a cloak and therefore can't drink LOL
lol OH WAIT! Talon is an OBJECT. That means that OILS work on him. And he has attacks which can be buffed by oils. Like allowing his attacks to target incorporeal creatures.
Hey guys check out this awesome cat video! It has a human familiar in the background! Even more fun for the Spewer: use the House Drake! It has a 1d4 round Stupefy breath. Super funsy! Actually…Specific Familiars is a whole another mix of things to add in! Thanks for doing the work! I’ve only theorized a Spewer, but there’s so much more I didn’t know! I’m trying to join up a PFS game and the Wilding Spirit Guide Build probably isn’t coming up anytime soon. XD Beautiful vid! Edit: A fun feat thing - if you’re an Elementalist and take Elemental Familiar, you can add neat abilities! My favorite would probably be making it a Wood Familiar and giving it a way to be bright (such as Divine Emissary’s Luminous). Now it fast heals off it’s own light!
I'm extremely glad that you liked it. I know that you know the system and enjoy making things so that's nice praise coming from you. Did somebody else requested specific familiars so that's the video that I'm already working on. The idea of a wood familiar and letting it heal off its own light I had not thought of that combo and there are probably a lot of combos that I'm missing now. You have inspired me to research deeper!
It also feels thematically correct for the Champion to have a Spirit Guide. You could make the pet Large sized and it's a freaking TANK. This would all be fun with Guardian too.
I have a kineticist wood/metal familar master dedication, so much fun! great video! So helpful! The idea is at level 6, take the elemental balista. Could a familiar with manual dexterity still be to reload with its two interact actions to reload it?
Yes! Yes it can. Damn I'm surprised by that. Because it's not technically wielding the item - it is a Mount instead. And there's nothing against a familiar being able to mount something. While The familiar can't fire it, it can use its manipulate actions to reload it.
You missed the OP munchkin glory of the "assistive devices". Great intentions regarding a serious issue, but when used for a shameless character or companion who lacks a disability, shenanigans occur. Hang the _5 sp_ voicebox on the critter's collar, and it can convert thought into speech for any language it speaks. If Fluffy McFamiliar has touch telepathy and has something resembling language, you get speech nearly free. It isn't even invested. Likewise a pimped out chair. (Travelling companion chair with storage and impulse control.) It's a comfy, thought controlled, palanquin for your friend that has built in storage and will _climb ladders and stairs_. A steal at 10 gp, it allows Fluffy to travel in style and comfort. *cat toys and catnip dispenser not included
I'm just imagining a snake familar just tripping fokes on command... Or perhaps a cat running up and causing them to stumble... Real cats don't need to be magic to do that lol.
HAHA yeah they don't. I absolutely love the snake familiar tripping people. I just realized that you could play that as an awakened animal now. "I'm just a snake" and then this like really little Viper suddenly pulls out some ninja moves and beats the hell out of someone with it's tail.
I have a question... could a familiar that is Tiny in size perform any Athletics actions such as Trip or Shove if the target is Medium in size? (i'm new on Pathfinder 2e + remaster)
No. The familiar would need enlarge cast on it first to be at least Small sized. There's a Skill Feat called Titan Wrestler that WOULD work, but Familiars can't take Skill Feats. There's an Alchemical Elixir that's 4th level that works too, a Fury Cocktail (Titanic Version.) 2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=1917

Loot's like: "Someone say Familiar?"

Oooooh I like. I ran a D&D group where someone did something like that. It was amusing as hell.
22:50 you don't need to be a caster to have a familiar
you don't even need to be a caster to have a good familiiar
Imagine a fighter's spirit guide.
Oh definitely. I completely agree. I wish I had said that; it's an actual USEFUL combat pet for a Fighter

champion + spirit guide = weirdly good
best ac(you and familiar) + good attack(both of you) + champion reaction/lay on hands to keep it alive

You should have a section for the rare folk that can ride the familiar, Sprite and its Corgi Mount for instance. Good vid though.
@@MrCATgpt THAT is a very good point. Thank you very much.
@@WisdomCheck I always flavor mine as Shiba Inu hahah
Aww I love those little howlers. It's freaky how tiny and yet how loud they are.

@@WisdomCheck amazing! thanks for the reply! phew! 3 d12 at level 6 isn't to bad either haha. great channel!
@@michaeldixon5811 LOL yeah it's pretty good. And thanks for the vote of confidence, I'm glad you're here. ❤️

lol I love this stuff.
I think RAW the voicebox doesn't work for the Familiar because it doesn't have the "companion" trait though. :(

Impersonate...a baby?
I guess it's more like maybe impersonating another animal.
lol
