Our moon is even weirder when you consider the fact that it's the only moon that is 1/4 of it's planet's size, imagine if Titan was 1/4 of Saturn's size.
A "normal" moon forms around an accretion disk of material that orbits around a planet during their early years of formation. Or after one succumbing to tidal forces when crossing the Roche limit, with debris that can disperse or form another moon. Planetary impacts are another form. Uranus had a massive impact that formed a ring system and tilt, which later formed moons around their axis. I mean it's an artistic choice like another , when I started watching the series I was also really disturbed by the fact that Venus is a male and Jupiter is presented as a wise and calm character, but at the end why not after all, it's an interesting standpoint to choose to ignore the mythological Inspirations of the planets in order to create new dynamics in the series
