if the frontal impact doesn´t kill you the secret exploding airbag will - Renault calls this a "feature". But at least it did not roll over like the Espace V onthe side impact

Not really safe. A VW T4 crashed frontal into the Renault Koleos in Germany (Georgensgmünd). 2 Kids dead. A 34 old woman dead. Driver seriously injured. All passengers in the Koleos. The 19 year old driver in the VW with his 17 year old girl survived.

Some systems won't apply the full brake force until the driver pushes the pedal, then it will give 100%. They probably didn't react so they could see how the car behaved by itself. There are a few reasons AEB systems behave this way, usually it's so the the driver doesn't rely solely on the system. Same reason most systems only activate when an accident is become unavoidable. Also keep in mind that if the driver doesn't apply the brakes sufficiently to avoid an accident, the system will increase the pressure using the sensors to support the driver.

It did mitigate most of the accidents, this particular system seems to have limitations avoiding the accident altogether with stationary cars or slow moving cars above 80k/h. It avoided all others.

The passenger airbag at around the 0:25 mark? Not sure but you can see an extra part where the spark/glow comes from at about 0:55 seconds. Wonder if it's like a dual stage mechanism or something to make sure it deflates correctly. I'm sure if it was a problem, EuroNCAP would have noted it.
yutuniopati these are delayed in may other makes as well. Not sure why, perhaps the forces traveling down the vehicle tripped the sensor or it may have senses the sideways movement and it triggered due to risk of rollover as it was just the passenger side that deployed in the frontal impact.
the design is good and therefore i decided actually to buy this car, but after this video never! In my opinion it have to be 2-3 stars and not more. I have the feeling, that there is a political decision behind the 5 stars

Maybe these explosions are for secondary impacts, collusions or roll overs...

In that crash was involved a first generation Koleos, the model produced until 2014, not the second generation tested in the video.

at 1:17 side airbag works properly on side impact. May be the delay occurred on purpose for frontal impacts.
