A Mongolian tribe settled in remote Yunnan and still preserve their language! They probably have been there from the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368). Over 600 years ago. Who would want to leave beautiful and warm southern China and return to the windy frigid north? China is vast and full of surprises.

This is why my next vacation destination will be Yunnan. I'm often surpriced by the wide variety of ingredients she uses until I found out Yunnan has only 4.1% of land mass in China but 18 000 high plant species (51.6% of China’s total). I can't wait to taste the cuisine, see the sights and meet the people from different minorities. Dianxi Xiaoge is the perfect ambassador for Yunnan.
