Greetings from Los Angeles, I'm Paul, and the proverbial newbie to large scale; your video production value(s) are excellent BTW.
I've had some good luck, with a retired gent who is offloading his Aristocraft stuff - some never run - at VERY handsome prices. Among other things I've learned in short order, is that Aristo's 1:29 scale is inaccurate for the "purest" chasing spot-on gauge-to-scale accuracy; I'm NOT one of those guys. I'm simply running outdoors on cement, primarily for the entertainment of my grandkids, no scenery (yet anyway) just a nice long layout with ample turning radius - Again, this man's prices are so reasonable, I couldn't pass on his offer(s) - So with all of that said, toward the end of your well done Shay, 3 truck review you REALLY caught my ear when you mentioned the 32 ounce draw bar measure on your force gauge. I recently read an article that had some G scale loco comparisons contained therein - these reviews were/are approximately 10 years old, when Aristo was still in biz - on electrically powered locos. In this particular review, your 3 truck Shay was said to have the most pulling power when compared with LGB, Aristo, and other manufacturers in the same price range, even out pulling the latest diesel models of the period. So I'd just like to ask you what one might expect an Aristocraft 4-6-2 Pacific - for example - would pull by comparison to the 3 truck Shay on the force gauge(?) Many thanks, and keep up the great work....

We do not have a 4-6-2 to test, and I am not one to speculate. We like to deal with what is physically in front of us when we are reviewing items. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the speedy reply - What type of force gauge do you use? Chatillon?

It's a beast! Would like to see this with some of your weathering applied. Something you haven't mentioned are the very visible mould part lines around the steam pipe and smokebox stay below the builder's plate...a bit of a shame considering the rest of the detail level.
Do you have any money left at the end of the week to eat?

Does this shay have metal gears?

Call me nit-picky, but for that price I wouldn't want any of the casting seems that are very visible on some of the parts at :30
