The title is misleading. The shipyard, as pointed out, is in Maine. The producers neglected to mention, however, that Fort Constitution is in New Castle NH, which is not part of Portsmouth either. New Castle is a separate town situated on Great Island.

I thought it funny that as he is talking about British ships coming to the Fort, they show a tugboat. Is that part of the invading ships? I agree with other comments that the whole article is very misleading and partially untrue.
The Portsmouth Naval Prison was located on an island , until it was closed in 1974. The treacherous waters earned the brig the name Alcatraz of the East.

i worked up here a "few" years ago. Good food and good beer in this sleepy New England town that's proud of their American freedoms

and Paul Revere's "Famous" ride did not take him through Portsmouth. He travel there on an earlier trip.
You missed the location of Paul Revere's ride by about 60 miles. ...Charleston to Lexington, MASSACHUSETTS.
