The brownie serving stand thing is intended to be used in conjunction with the tray’s removable bottom, leaving only the bottom of the tray (and the divider if left in) while dropping the rest of the tray to the bottom.

A couple of thoughts Barry: the brownie support / presentation tray should have been turned upside down; it would then have held the baking tray securely. Also, if you double up on the brownie quantity (or any other cake mix), you should increase the baking time to avoid undercooked / too sticky results. Finally, the salad spinner is for home grown salad leaves or other leaves that might have soil on them and need washing before serving; the spinner then removes the excess water before serving. Cereal settles over time so when the bags are packed initially they are almost full. As the packet gets transported the contents get shaken up a bit and then settle down to a lower level.
On top of that, as you pull the bag out of the box it no longer has the sides restraining it so it can settle further under gravity. This is also why the bag doesn't seem to want to go back in the box without bulging the sides out. Cereal, like most products, is packed by mass rather than by volume, and air weighs (next to) nothing. On top of this, air makes transport less efficient since transport tends to cost more by volume than by mass. So the only reason there'd be so much air in there is if it had some benefit (like reducing breakage, which it does)
