- In this video I restore a very dirty DualShock 2 controller I purchased from eBay. I tear the controller down, clean it, and replace defective parts.

Awesome video, both very helpful and so relaxing 🙏
Saved my life with the l2/r2 buttons 😭💖
I love your videos man don’t stop making them!
Thank you. This really helped.
Excellent video I just have the H model that I am going to replace the case with a silver one and your video is going to help me a lot. Greetings
Your a beast with the L & R button hack at end
Thanks for the instructional video! Great channel
Thank you, that’s very kind of you!
@@RestorationRelaxation I was glad to have discovered you in Reddit this morning with the purple PlayStation controller repair comments. Very helpful videos, especially solder removal. Keep up the great work.
Yesterday I found a PS2 controller hanging from a tree, picked it up and took it home. I don't have a PS2 unfortunately, but I have a PC that I can connect, I'm just missing a part that allows the controller to insert into the USB port
Just watching this video to help me clean a controller I got with a ps2 from an op shop, that controller is damn dirty
the desk you re working is dirtier than the controller itself
R1R2L1L2ボタン最後にはめればいいですね。自分は今までDS2やDS3はボタンはめてからネジ締めてました。😉
should have have put the R1s and R2s and L1s and L2s on last after all the screws where in it makes it much easier to clip in.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll do it that way next time!
Can you do a video with an original Gamecube controller?
Love these videos btw!
I’d love to! I use what I find locally so I’ll keep an eye out
Helpfull movie i try to clean, look like its not that hard like in some new pads.
Nice channel! 😎
Thank you very much!
7:45 so you’re telling me, I’ve been putting the R12/L12 buttons wrong this whole time?
Hey man whatever works best for you!
@@RestorationRelaxation every time I took one apart I would be fighting for like 15 mins to put it back together lol
Deadass, I watched other videos, and they always skip that part, probably because they were putting the buttons on before assembling the mold and trying the put the mold together with the buttons messing up the position of the ribbon that reads the Triggers like me. When I saw this part I was like "what??? They can just go in like that? That's way easier" doing it the other way is like defusing a bomb
Какой жидкостью вы мыли корпус? и чем протерали плату?
❤ Hi sir you are A Genius 🙂
hi, could you tell me if the analog sticks, or rather the mechanism that must be desoldered and then soldered, is the same as the dualshock 1 PsOne? Thank you
So the controller was just dirty no stick drift or nothing???
Yeah, complete BS. I have yet so see a controller this dirty on Ebay. Not even close.
But does it work?
Nice, i have a white one but I don't know how to remove the yellowness
Retrobright! I’ll do a video on it in the future
@@RestorationRelaxation I would like to see
good video friend, what kind of screwdriver do you use?? or what size is it?
I can’t recall the specific bit size, but I use the iFixit Mako screwdriver set. I *highly* recommend it!
That looks like the controller that got worn out!
Wow that was really gross!
Yeah it sure was!
Wow
Do you use dish soap or just regular hand soap?
Dish soap
gentle or the heavy duty?
because when i use heavy duty dish soap for my gamecube button and sticks the c stick had white residue on it.
@@YASHIEGG just regular plain dish soap
First he makes the controllers dirty on purpose for effect, then he scrubs them. Thats all.
i have a ps2 problem is that i can see the red light but dosen't work
It means that controller Is not complete with that game. You're probably using a ps
1 controller anolog version which is compatible for games that don't require pressure sensitive buttons
🏀🎉
this makes me dislike playstation stuff more. for some reason, sony develops stuff in the worst way possible so you can't replace anything or take anything apart. I can't fix the controller pins in my playstation 2 because it is hardwired into the motherboard so you can't fix them.
You can try a soldering iron!
@@RestorationRelaxation I don't know how to solder and I know I wouldn't be able to solder it back on EXACTLY right.
@@zadock6370 ah gotcha. Yeah that’s tough then
@@zadock6370 controllers are a good place to start. if u watch tutorials online its easy to find. I started from the same and now im doing basic stuff like changing old analog sticks and repairing broken cables on my motors.
