If you are really concerned about this, ask your doctor for an ultra-sound test of the throat area. It is no big deal. You go to a medical center that does this, just lay down and the technician simply checks out your throat area with a device that sees through the skin and takes photos or film. This will show if you have any thyroid nodules. The next step is a Biopsy to see if they are malignant. Mine were. I had the thyroid removed. I was already taking levothyroxine due to hypothyroidism. The dose just needed to be tweaked.
