Honestly Zamasu could have been the best villain in the Dragon Ball franchise, if his existence had been CONCEIVED AND FORESHADOWED from the beginning, and we had seen the tragic backstory unfold in real time. Specifically have Zamasu try to live amongst the mortals and help out benevolently, but realize that it is all in vain when he sees so many messed up things (like war, genocide, slavery, human experimentation, etc) and can’t do anything to stop them. Have him start to give up on mortals when he sees Frieza slaughtering the people of Namek, then become even more jaded during the Cell and Buu sagas, and ultimately conclude that mortals are irredeemable due to the fight between Goku and Beerus in which he sees mortals defying the will of the gods and threatening the balance of existence, all in the name of (at least in his view) their selfish desires. Crucially this is even where Omega Shenron could be thematically significant as Zamasu DOESN’T SEE Goku’s act of self sacrifice to protect his loved ones and humanity as a whole (due to the branching timeline), and thus cannot be swayed to see the redeeming qualities of mortals. Thus Zamasu becomes a villain determined to not only permanently destroy all life, but to destroy Goku and invalidate the very ideals Goku and those who follow in his footsteps stand for. Basically the perfect final villain, and him taking on Goku’s body as Goku Black would amplify the thematic significance-while also reintroducing permanent death to massively increase tension in the narrative.

its a miracle zamasu was the only villain to win in dragon ball when he is also the dumbest villain in dragon ball. buddy could of used the super dragon balls to wish his 0 mortal plan into reality and he didnt do it. he also stole the body of a mortal body which means he still gotta eat drink water breathe oxygen etc and to top it all off by switching bodies with a mortal he gave himself a mortal lifespan so dummy ain't even gonna be able to enjoy his world free of mortals as his physical body slowly dies of old age. zamasu also screwed up by playing with the mortals too much. this whole time he couldn't even wipe out the humans on earth when any other villain who committed genocide in dragon ball had no problem wiping out populations bc unlike zamasu they actually focus on wiping out the population. zamasu was so bad of a villain he was handed a win via plot realizing now that infinite zamasu is a thing making goku remember the zeno button is the only way to end the arch. and one last thing ill say is instead of destroying the super dragon balls just wish for a fking password for those dragon balls to only answer you call lmao

I suppose too that other versions could eventually turn against him someday and so he has a point in a way. But I’d be more inclined to simply not trust other versions of myself than outright hate them or something. Frankly I love him, read others stories but I’ll admit there’s a few I don’t like and so I don’t read them. I have nearly 1 million words since early 2023 of stories I’ve written with him and I head story with him multiple times a day and some of those stories trigger visceral reactions, epic honestly. I buy cards, I play Dokkan or Legends sometimes, full Zamasu team. I have Goku Blacks time ring now, a necklace with his scythe and a potara but I can’t wear earrings so … that’s annoying. I get figurines if I can find any locally. Prefer not to buy online due to all the scamming going on. I read a ton of reviews for the sites I was going to use, reviewers say stay away or get scammed, we warned you, so I stay away. Got only the manga with him, than I remembered that no I got Moro too lol. Some of him anyways, like the later half. Got the DBS box set for the Black saga only. Yes I paid like $200+ just for the Black saga lol. Got Xenoverse 2 but I play offline and I suck, so honestly I don’t play it, it’s also only fun to a point and than gets boring. I listen to regular Zamasu’s music the most and Fused, I don’t really like any of Black’s music, not even the ones that people made, doesn’t resonate with me at all. Regular Zamasu is first and 2nd on my list is Corrupted. For which versions of him I prefer. Black is like before Skymasu so like … Unfortunately locally Black is the easiest to find stuff for, so whilst I may not like him very much overall, I also have no choice. Better to buy things related to him, than to not buy anything at all.
