My favourite beach on the island ❤️ lovely to see it thank you point of aire ❤️ What did make me laugh “I am not usually a fan of crab” “well give it back then” 😂😂
Hi Carol and Ken, really enjoyed all your blogs on the Isle of Man. Looks a lovely place to visit. The background music while you walked through the chasms fitted the feeling of danger. When you went near the edge it was a clever drone shot going out to sea..The baps were very generous with the kipper and crab. Thanks again for sharing your travels. 😀👍
That was amazing footage of the cliffs and chasms and your drone was faithful to the end. Back in the day, most things that needed repairing was the best option as they usually lasted longer than expected. Today is very much a throw away things when they are done. A new drone awaits and if you get the same amount of miles from it, then it's all good 👍.
Really enjoyed this series. Wonderful to see the videography evolving and reaching new heights of excellence. Can't wait for the next trip. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thankyou. You're our advance party for our next UK adventure. We will add Isle of Man. We wanted to go last year, but it was $1000 for tent accommodation. It was TT race weekend, so we didn't go.
Those kipper and crab cobs looked amazing.. it's been a privilege to watch your Isle of man trip so much was packed into every minute the wonderful landscape park ups history and some gorgeous photos for the album not also forgetting some most scrumptious food thank you for sharing your life adventures and look forward to many more 😀 😊
Your trips this year have been a highlight on TH-cam. Our first year of owning a camper as well, we've been to Scotland Northumberland Wales Devon and Cornwall Norfolk 3 times and countless times in Lincolnshire and obviously Yorkshire. These trips have been inspired in many ways by watching your videos, your videos are fun engaging and informative. Here's to more adventures in 2022. All the best.
Thanks for your lovely comment Mark. Sounds like you are getting plenty of use from your new campervan which is great. Wishing you lots of fun and safe travels for the future, take care 👍😀
Ken, you gave us a scare at the chasms, thankfully no mishaps, you made us hungry watching you both tuck in to Manx kippers. Lovely photography as usual. Thank you both.
Yet again an amazing bit of filming, not that it takes you 25 minutes to put together ,it must take hours of editing. I have loved every episode there hasnt been any that have dissapointed. This one a few facts :- Blue Point Observation was for the Bombing Range that was used at sea during the cold war they used the offshore bombing range and had RAF staff stationed on the island observing what went on . They also noted if any bombs unexploded so they would then ask for help in getting them blown up. Point of Ayre lighthouse when I was a child could be visited and I spent a few times up that until I became scared of heights. Many thanks for all your amazing work and fantastic advertising for the island. regards John
I'd been fancying kippers for ages and about a month ago I got some of those 'boil in the bag' ones with the pat of butter. MMmmmm!! sorted my craving out properly. Now though you've started me off again! and I'm on my pre-Christmas diet (so I can eat loads over the festivities). I might slip off the wagon soon... those chasms frightened the life out of me too. Another great film, thank you.
If you go again I'd recommend you get a kipper bap from the kiosk at the end of the promenade near the harbour bridge. He fries them for you as you watch, not microwaved and you can't beat the flavour! By the way, the crab might have tasted better if you'd had it before having the strong flavoured kippers!
Hello Ken / Carol its 6am here having coffee and muffins and really enjoying this one the Chasms that was amazing never seen anything like that the heather was beautiful with all its colour for me that has to be one of the top highlights of your trip , to bad that someone has not taken over the old cafe its in such a great location. Wonderful music again Ken thanks for the posting. Take care both of you.
Love that place with the lighthouse. The sea is such a stunning colour. Love seeing the seals. My Mom used to love kippers. Love the smell but never had them. Obviously wouldn't now being veggie lol. Lovely coastal views at the Chasms.
Thanks for watching. We were amazed at that sea colour when we saw the drone footage because it is not noticeable from ground level. There were loads of seals there but I forgot to press the record button and when I realised, a lot of them had gone🤦🏻♂️😩
Some amazing photography in this episode. I loved the red and white lighthouses, foghorn and van against the beautiful blue sea especially when the seagull flew across the screen. I don’t think I could go to the chasms, my legs were trembling watching on TV I would end up on my hands and knees crawling in the dust. There was some fabulous drone footage though! Thanks as always for sharing your adventure.
Some really stunning drone footage, and some really nice photography too, you have to get out on another road trip soon, drive safe guys and God bless 😎👍✅
Thanks for another fascinating video. Great to see you enjoying those kippers from Peel. My cousin lives on the IOM and made sure we tasted the world-class kippers.
Wow wot amazing footage from the drone the chasms an rocks were beautiful scenery the heather looks stunning I don't rember the roads being that narrow but then kids don't I was only 9 10 when we moved to Liverpool but I do rember the kippers our saturdee brunch they were thick bread An lots of butter mmmm i may look into getting some shipped hear haven't had them in yrs me mum used to get someone she new who worked on the ferrys to bring them over yrs ago the only thing is I find smoked food repeats on me terrible but you can't beat a gd kipper butty lol xx
I have loved your trip around the wonderful Isle, you should have had those barm's the other way around crab first then the kipper you would have appreciated the delicate crab meat flavor with fresh taste buds.
Thanks for watching Jim. You are right about the delicate flavour of the crab being overpowered by the smoked kipper. Still they were both delicious 😋 ☺️
Great episode guys really enjoyed this one …. With blue skies you captured some great images and I think your favourite park up was mine to looking back at all the locations …. Something very serene ….
Hari OM Struth - I was telling you not to hang over the edge like that, till you told me it was just the Minitwo!!! It had my vertigo turning loops but there is no doubting the beauty and awe of the Chasms. The Isle of Man is full of hidden gems,if you look at one of the outcrops there’s a Neolithic hut circle base,at the chasms.Cregneash just over the hill is where bits of the film “Waking Ned” were filmed.Bits of long gone industry are everywhere,if you look around Point of Ayre, there are the remains of a failed salt extraction works.Old leadmine workings are all over the Island, mainly around the middle and south of the island. There are also remains of Viking settlements and two ship burials,as well as Neolithic hillforts ,chambered burial sites.l’ve been to the Island so many times
The hut on the seaside was an old coastguard lookout. Alongside is a wartime concrete lookout post - there were 2 big RAF airfields at Jurby and Andreas, and all of the northern Ayres were littered with related buildings (some of which survive). I recall being at the lookout there many years ago, when just a lad, when the King's Cup Air Race was held at Jurby. I was helping out and it was one the checkpoints. The pilots were excited by the low-flying restrictions being waived. We had to look down as the aircraft skirted the coastline, and at least one (an old Tiger Moth biplane) had to climb a bit just to make sure its wheels cleared a stone wall! The national aerobatics championships were held at the same at Jurby, and I was sent at one stage to look for a German (or Swiss) pilot. I found him the long-gone Jurby Airport Hotel (housed in a wartime wooden building). He was busy using an early video game machine where you played the part of a WW1 fighter pilot....obviously better than the real thing!
That was really nice guys. The chasms was interesting. Mind you we wouldn't like to take our little granddaughter there we would be nervous wrecks. Kipper baps looked great.
Ahoy Pirates! :D Carol rocks the boat again! Seals!!!! :D Well, dear Ken, I have my challenge with those kinds of heights too! XD Good to see and hear you, dear folks! It was another wonderful journey on the Isle with you! Thank you for the enormous joy and your tremendous effort in making these videos for us, mortals! .) Your Captain of the good old Blackthorne
I think I’ll give the Chasms a miss lol! I had sweaty palms watching! When I saw the drone footage I was done! I guess the cafe closed as one day it’ll fall into the sea? 😬😬😬
Ha, sorry to terrify you CJ. We can see why they don’t want to renovate those tearooms. Probably don’t want to encourage too many people to visit at the same time. The views are amazing though 😍
Surely Is very nice there Carol I must say tht youno Ken looks after us all very good taking us to these nice locations Thank you Sur Ken Be Safe a real pleAsure robe therewirg ye
I enjoyed this one. the chasms looked great as I share your dislike of heights I totally understood your caution the colours of the heather was marvelous you really got a great day for it, I have the same drone and I'm sure it could be repaired by some electronics shop, looking forward to next one
Great filming of the chasms! Of course I didn’t think you were walking near the edge! 🥴 I have thoroughly enjoyed your Isle of Man visit. Looking forward to your next vlog
Absolutely love the channel. Every video is beautifully put together to capture the moment, Carols has an excellent eye for a photo and it’s lovely to hear the history of each location. Best wishes to you both and I can’t wait for the next adventure. Can I recommend Marks and Spencer’s “Meat Bolognaise” which you will find in the jars section of the food isle’s. It already contains the mince within the sauce so just add pasta and top with cheese 🍝 Delish !
Hi them babs looked so good lov kippers yum. Your braver than me you not get me any where near the camas . My tummy was doing cat wheels gust looking at the video . Safe trip home
I loved this video with the awesome drone footage and beautiful photography. Great selection in music too which is definitely very relaxing! Greetings from Canada 😊
Good to see Carol having a go with the drone and I’m glad you managed to catch the seals before you left. What an amazing place the chasm is. I’m not a fan of heights either, but it looks worth the mental effort. Loved the way you flew out from the cliff with the drone 👍.
Carol enjoyed her go at flying the drone 🙂 Glad we got some of the seals on film but gutted I wasn’t recording when there were a lot more all together. Thanks for watching 👍😀
I was thinking to myself, what a great place for the drone! Then you really caught me by surprise the way you introduced it. 😮 Some lovely footage with it on this EP. 💚
Once again a great video. Don't think we'd be safe visiting the chasms with our wee dog Blue. I'd be scared stiff that he'd dissappear down one of those hidden cracks. Anyway..thanks again and night, night. Tina, Bernie and an already snoring Blue.
Well ken you made me jump when you sent the drone over the cliff edge lol poor mini 2 some fantastic footage from it ..that picture you took of the light house was brilliant you should sell copys of your photographs I would buy the lighthouse one .your vlogs are pure entertainment thank you both 😀
Loved this one. You’re on your own with the kipper baps though 🤣. Those chasms looked piggin’ scary. Nearly had a heart attack when you took the drone over the edge. The seal footage was beautiful ❤️You really have done a fabulous job of exploring the island. Looking forward to the next one 😊🧙♂️
So glad you got the Baps…..ive been waiting for that……..there’s none better, I’m partial to a crab bap myself, with a good sprinkle of pepper, and a Guinness…..made up that you got such a wonderful second evening at the Point of Ayre, you are closer to Scotland than Castletown when parked there 👍🇮🇲
Several videos back you guys kept saying, "Let's go to the Chasms. Oh, the weather is too awful to go now" and you would show an old stone building (the cafe 18:26) off in the distance with the word "CHASMS" on the side of the building. I couldn't understand the excitement for an old building that seemed to have no connection to the word "Chasms", which in definition is a deep gap in the ground, abyss-like. 😄 Well, now I clearly see the reason for the excitement. I'm so glad you were able to show us the beauty of it, it is terrifying though - some paths were a little too close to the "edge of abyss" for me. You definitely can't be doing two things at once on those trails. Such beauty. 😊💖
Glad you enjoyed it Tilly. We were so glad the weather improved and we were able to see the chasms. Not for the faint hearted though that’s for sure ☺️
all the views and scenery are fantastic. I didn'tike the gaps in the grass , you could of slipped, but you were lucky you got through ok. were the kippers salty. I always enjoy watching your videos and my history lessons because its very interesting 🙂 stay safe.
I would have enjoyed the Chasm from the drone ! This whole trip has been refreshing and fun. You broke up the videos perfectly. One more, then you head home? I look forward to your next adventures in the Little Red ! Mary
Another great video. Yes you caught me and the wife out at the edge ,we thought no way are you going to go that close to edge then we knew you were using drone 😁😁.
Thank you for this episode guy's, i didn't know about this place so a new one was interesting, as I've got older I can't do heights it makes my tummy churn. My uncle went to the Isle of man annually and always brought my granny his mother back kippers, she loved them it was a special treat for her. Your both part of my Saturday night routine, ken, charlie and strictly what more could a girl want. Wonderful memories for me and the island. Never tried crab but I'm tempted to give it a go it looked tasty, does it taste very fishy.Have you ever tried potted herring my dad's favourite. XX ❤️💙🦀
Glad you enjoyed the video Margaret and it brought back some happy memories for you. Crab has a unique taste, not very fishy. We have not tried potted herring so will have to look out for that 👍😀
Hope u enjoy Ilse of man nice place visit i go ther every year one your should visit is jersey and Guernsey in channel Ilse's nice place visit by boat enjoy watching u lot
Definitely shouldn't have watched this vlog when I was hungry. OMG, I would kill for a Manx crab bap right now! I regularly walk along the coast to the Chasms and Spanish Head when I am there. One time I was there in early January with a friend and he mis-stepped and went straight down one of the small fissures up to his hips; that was definitely a scary moment! We met a couple there who took us over to that small stone circle ( you could just see it in your drone footage) where we all ended up laying down in a semi circle to feel the "healing energy." The couple were quite spiritual but all I could think was that I was out of the wind while I was on the ground! That's a walk I won't soon forget! Glad you enjoyed it Carol and Ken. Usually the fields around there are full of sheep.
Your friend had a lucky escape, that must have been terrifying. What a lovely spiritual experience at the stone circle. Thanks for watching and all your comments 🙂👍
Love the taste of kippers, but hate the bones. I wouldn't walk through the Chasms. It was interesting seeing the view from your drone though. Quite a spectacular and scenic place.
If anyone wants to make a fire to sit around at the beach, there is a way to do it. Do not attempt to start a fire if it is more than very slightly windy, even on a still day, you need to keep fire well away from anything flammable. First dig a pit, piling up the sand you dig out to form an embankment around the pit. The pit needs to be at least 1ft deep. This should stop embers from blowing around & injuring people & setting fire to things. You also need to ensure you do not add items which will shoot out embers, Fir trees need to be avoided. Bricks & stones, for example can also explode when heated. Put some crumpled paper in the bottom of the pit & a modest amount of sticks or pieces of wood before using a match, putting only the smallest pieces on initially. Keeping it small means you stay in control. So keep it small. Let the fire burn down before you leave & push the embankment of sand down over the fire to finish extinguishing it & cover the area, leaving no trace of having been there, except footprints.
Janine just said that her knees would go weak too at those chasms 😅 The drone footage in this video was outstanding! Loved it all so much 💚 Would you get another mini 2? Or something else
@@LifeistooshortCK I saw Carol having a crack at it and it has inspired me (Liam) to have a go. The only go I have had resulted in the drone flying headfirst into a fence and breaking (its first flight eek)
Oh my life that’s terrifying chasms, I hate heights , will, not be seen near here !😝 Please what is the drone that your using , and is it easy to use ,for someone mature lol,. Love your trips , so glad Carol is ok. And I’m always hungry after your videos .
I use a DJI Mini 2 drone details in the affiliate link of our videos. Drones hover in one spot all by themselves so all you have to do is push them around the sky using 2 little stick controllers. Its easy when you have learned how to control it but can be a bit nerve wracking. 🙂
I have loved all your trips , been an avid viewer since my husband passed at the beginning of the year, we had so many happy times with our caravans and you both remind me of us and our happy times. xx
I'm sure you have lovely memories
Sorry for your loss Jayjay. Those happy memories must be a great comfort for you ❤️
Truly sorry for the heartache of your loss - what a sweet way to remember your husband!
I remember having kippers for Saturday tea when I was a kid.
This has been a wonderful , comprehensive look at the Isle of Man. Very enjoyable. Thank you

Surely Is very nice there Carol I must say tht youno Ken looks after us all very good taking us to these nice locations Thank you Sur Ken Be Safe a real pleAsure robe therewirg ye
Cheers Matt 👍😀
I enjoyed this one. the chasms looked great as I share your dislike of heights I totally understood your caution the colours of the heather was marvelous you really got a great day for it, I have the same drone and I'm sure it could be repaired by some electronics shop, looking forward to next one
Thanks for watching Kieran. The drone has already been replaced ☺️
Love watching your Vlogs and look forward to you next adventures hopefully in France ! 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵👍
Look forward to returning to France one day. Carol is busy learning French 😊🇫🇷👍
Those drone photos and the landscape photos are wonderful.
Thanks Larry 😀👍
I am so pleased I have now seen The Chasms, thanks to you as you wouldn't get me walking over them in a month of Sundays! 😳
Glad to be of assistance. Thanks for watching ☺️👍
Best one yet, you guys are taking to this like ducks 🦆🦆 tio water
👍
Thanks for your lovely comment ☺️
❤️❤️❤️
Good afternoon Ken and Carol.
Evening Larry 👋
Great filming of the chasms! Of course I didn’t think you were walking near the edge! 🥴 I have thoroughly enjoyed your Isle of Man visit. Looking forward to your next vlog
Glad you enjoyed it Linda. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
And... what are those lovely colorful bushes called, there at the Chasms?
Absolutely love the channel. Every video is beautifully put together to capture the moment, Carols has an excellent eye for a photo and it’s lovely to hear the history of each location. Best wishes to you both and I can’t wait for the next adventure. Can I recommend Marks and Spencer’s “Meat Bolognaise” which you will find in the jars section of the food isle’s. It already contains the mince within the sauce so just add pasta and top with cheese 🍝 Delish !
Thanks for the lovely comment. We will definitely be looking out for that bolognaise sauce in M&S. Thanks for the tip 👍🙏🙂
Hi them babs looked so good lov kippers yum. Your braver than me you not get me any where near the camas . My tummy was doing cat wheels gust looking at the video . Safe trip home
Glad we could show you the chasms from the safety of your armchair Thomas ☺️ Thanks for watching 👍🙂
I loved this video with the awesome drone footage and beautiful photography. Great selection in music too which is definitely very relaxing! Greetings from Canada 😊
Thanks so much! Greetings to Canada 👋🇨🇦
Awesome beach ....great video.. thanks🙂👍
Thanks for watching 👍🙂
I was thinking to myself, what a great place for the drone! Then you really caught me by surprise the way you introduced it. 😮 Some lovely footage with it on this EP. 💚
Glad you enjoyed it 😀👍
Once again a great video. Don't think we'd be safe visiting the chasms with our wee dog Blue. I'd be scared stiff that he'd dissappear down one of those hidden cracks. Anyway..thanks again and night, night. Tina, Bernie and an already snoring Blue.
You would definitely need to keep Blue on a short lead if you went there. Thanks for watching, hope you all slept well ☺️
@@LifeistooshortCK hi, we did thanks. Blue's not ready to get up yet lol 🐶
Well ken you made me jump when you sent the drone over the cliff edge lol poor mini 2 some fantastic footage from it ..that picture you took of the light house was brilliant you should sell copys of your photographs I would buy the lighthouse one .your vlogs are pure entertainment thank you both 😀
Thank you for your lovely comment. Carol is chuffed you like her photos ☺️👍
Thank you so much Ellie & Graham, glad you enjoyed it (apart from the kippers and scary chasms 😉😂)
So glad you got the Baps…..ive been waiting for that……..there’s none better, I’m partial to a crab bap myself, with a good sprinkle of pepper, and a Guinness…..made up that you got such a wonderful second evening at the Point of Ayre, you are closer to Scotland than Castletown when parked there 👍🇮🇲
Cheers Andy. We loved the Point of Ayre park up and were so lucky to get a warm evening to sit out and enjoy the peaceful surroundings 😀
That sunset camp 😍
Daisy may… that’s a new pet name Ken 😂 we love the long varied list!
We thought you might enjoy the kipper baps too 😋😋😋😁
@@LifeistooshortCK no I’m afraid we only do battered cod and tinned tuna, that’s our limit 😆
@@Professionalmoochers you’ve just gone down in our estimation 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t know what you’re missing 🍤🍣🐟🦀🐚🦑🐙 😝
@@LifeistooshortCK 😂😂 we like prawns too! Does that help??
@@LifeistooshortCK …and scallops! We’re learning more about ourselves every minute 😂
You should try the smoked kipper house in whitby north yorkshire. Its unreal and worth a visit for sure
Thanks for the tip Steve 🙂👍
Several videos back you guys kept saying, "Let's go to the Chasms. Oh, the weather is too awful to go now" and you would show an old stone building (the cafe 18:26) off in the distance with the word "CHASMS" on the side of the building.
I couldn't understand the excitement for an old building that seemed to have no connection to the word "Chasms", which in definition is a deep gap in the ground, abyss-like. 😄
Well, now I clearly see the reason for the excitement.
I always enjoy watching your videos and my history lessons because its very interesting 🙂
stay safe.
Thanks Moira. The kippers weren’t salty at all, just delicious 😋👍
Yet another Great video I could taste them kippers yummy great drone footage XX
Thanks Maureen 😀👍
I would have enjoyed the Chasm from the drone ! This whole trip has been refreshing and fun. You broke up the videos perfectly. One more, then you head home? I look forward to your next adventures in the Little Red ! Mary
Glad to have you along on the trip Mary. Final Isle of Man episode will be out 5pm today 😀👍
Yeay, you went to Moore's! I was yelling at my screen, "GO TO MOORE'S, GO TO MOOOOORE'S!!" Their bacon is also absolutely fantastic.
The kipper and crab baps were first class and we were so glad we went there 👍😀
Another great video, although those cracks in the ground made me weak just looking lol weather looked lovely in this vlog.
The weather improved a lot for our last couple of days on the island 😎 Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Looks like beer would have gone great with that kipper. Yummy. I would have pigged out too. Noted that heather standning out on the drone shots. Nice!
Thanks John. It was a bit early in the day for beer but we know what you mean 😅👍🙂
Well your drone went out on a high note! Very enjoyable and slightly tense footage!
Thanks Glenys. Hope you enjoyed it ☺️
Enjoying another one of your wonderful videos xx
Not sure about the idea of kippers
Chasms are terrifying
Kippers are delicious 😋
That is such a beautiful bird! We do not have those over here. Wonder what they are called? Beautiful photography of the time of the sunset...
We have not tried potted herring so will have to look out for that 👍😀
When I was on the Isle of Man I bought Quinn’s kippers from IoM Tesco !
I've lived here over 20 years and I've only visited the chasms once. Scared the bajingo out of me!
Don’t blame you 😁
Hope u enjoy Ilse of man nice place visit i go ther every year one your should visit is jersey and Guernsey in channel Ilse's nice place visit by boat enjoy watching u lot
We would love to visit Jersey and Guernsey but they don’t allow wild camping 🙁
Amazing video
Thanks William 🙂
The bones in these kippers were so small it was very easy to eat them. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🙂
Good method 👍
Janine just said that her knees would go weak too at those chasms 😅
The drone footage in this video was outstanding! Loved it all so much 💚
Would you get another mini 2? Or something else
Thanks for watching Liam and Janine. Already bought another mini 2 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK I saw Carol having a crack at it and it has inspired me (Liam) to have a go. The only go I have had resulted in the drone flying headfirst into a fence and breaking (its first flight eek)
@@ThoseHappyDays would be happy to give you some tips if you are around Mid Sussex area anytime please get in touch and we can arrange a meet up 😀
Oh my life that’s terrifying chasms, I hate heights , will, not be seen near here !😝
Please what is the drone that your using , and is it easy to use ,for someone mature lol,.
good vid on you travels ,keep up the good vids
Cheers Lee 😀👍
