My Q30 that had the program problem,this is what i did.
I left the machine on all night, because I could not switch it off.
Next morning the battery was flat, so I put it on charge and when it had finished charging I went to switch it on, and everything has returned to normal with no more problem's.
Some sort of freeze up ( Strange ).
Just watched your video on the Quest 30. Unfortunately, we can't use ours on the fields. The owners have banned all detecting. We use ours on the beach. Do you need to set up differently for the beach? Or is it the same way setting up just in beach mode. Thanks

All my metal detectors are there to be used in the way they were intended, they aren’t a display item to be polished 👍
Puchased my Quest Q30 in june, used it twice. Third time i switched it on the back light came on and no programs, and it will not switch off. Will have to send it back, ( Gutted ).

Just ordered my unit. I have a question, Can I just leave the auto ground tracking ON or do I have to turn it on every time I use the machine? Thank you
You can leave it on, I tend to have it on manual. Most detectors that are set to tracking will track momentarily to the strongest signal. They take a few moments to reset so as a result you could miss smaller faint targets like hammered coins. So by manually ground balancing your machine you will avoid this. If you are detecting in ground that has varying soil conditions then tracking will be a better option, but if your ground conditions are consistent and stable then manual will be a better option.

What is AM static on the quest 30
It is a function for the design engineers, it allows them to set up and align the pinpoint function. In essence it allows them to use the detector motion free to set up the accuracy of the pinpoint function.

What is ground balance?
It's the way in which you can tune your metal detector to the mineralisation in the ground. By doing this it allows your metal detector to run at peak performance. All ground types have different levels of mineralisation, this affects how you detector performs, so by balancing it to the ground it allows it to run correctly.

My quest 30 is making light chattering no matter if its in the air or on the ground. What's going on?
Have you done a factory reset?

@@DrewVerdin with the machine turned off, press and hold the power button until you see the display reset.
That should fix your chatter issue, give it a go and let me know how you get on.
