Oh my goodness! Yes! I'll get to the lake and want to fish a certain style of bait or technique and then have to check myself if it's just not working that day.
Thanks for this video, Tyler! I spend WAY too much time fishing the same spot and using the SAME soft plastic fat albert in my favourite dam. I will follow your advice here but will have to internalise the idea of moving after 15 to 20 minutes. I KNOW this but still do it! Thanks for a great channel. Your advice works aldo here in South Africa. Tight lines.
My confidence bait is a soft jerkbait...ALWAYS have 1 tied on... megabass sleeper gill swimbait, and a wobblehead soft plastic craw will be utilized alot this year...can't forget a wacky rig senko type bait either
I was at fork the other day, couldn’t get a bite to save my life. Finally moved off a spot I caught em before and boom, a 6.5 then a 7.2 back to back on the same bank. Sometimes that’s all it takes. Great vid Tyler!
Been getting skunked a lot lately. Sometimes i think I stick around areas too long. Was having a killer few months back from maybe July right up to December but since this new year has started I’ve been having a tough time. Caught one 5 back in January and one 4 in February but other than that it’s been either dinks or skunk
Part of the reason us bank fishermen stay in one spot so long is, the wind direction. I fish with the wind at my back because, it's very tough fishing with the wind in your face or with having a big bow in your line when the wind blows from either side. Not my choice where I fish from the bank until they install domes over the lakes.
Just figured out the fish are right there at the wind i use a spinning reel throw a senko a small spinner fast a swimbait or dropshot right at the wind and catch them from the bank
@BROTHERBOLDLYMUSICK sorry man ik you tried and it was a great ad just think it would sell better if people see you actually use the product to show people it's worth picking up
Man dude, I've caught about 5 bass at this spot on spinning tackle. Bought my first baitcaster and been there about 7 times with it and still haven't gotten a bite 😭
If I haven't caught a fish 10 to 15 casts it's time to change something: speed, cadence, cover, depth, color, bait, location. That's the theory anyway. And as a wise philosopher once said "in theory there's no difference between theory and practice BUT in practice there's a huge difference between theory and practice!"
The worst I ever got skunked was drawing a boater with forward facing sonar. You can't catch nothing but small short fish behind one of these guys. It's worse than being front ended.

My problem when I get skunked is that I’m fishing lure I want and not the baits I should be fishing or what the fish want.
Oh my goodness! Yes! I'll get to the lake and want to fish a certain style of bait or technique and then have to check myself if it's just not working that day.
Yep that'll do it.
Just yesterday I used like 5 different lures and only managed to lose 2 of em and got no bites
I feel like I would be overqualified if the title was “How to get Skunked” 😝😝😝
“YEARS AGO” 😂 everytime you mention a (this one time) trip, you always say it was years ago like your an old man. Love your vids 👌
Thank you for your tutorials. They are very informative and greatly appreciated.
Love your vids man
Thanks for watching!
I agree with 110% on the dropshot. Definitely my go to when all other lures seem to not be producing. 7 times out of 10 that dropshot will get bit.

My favorite is a 5 inch Yamamoto senko !
Every person that even half likes bass fishing should sub to you no brainer definitely sending all my to you been watching for a month or so😊
I'm in skunkville not many bass and very few lakes, no natural lakes but I'm trying lol whittier CA
After getting skunked the last few times out, I went out today with the mindset described in this video, and caught several. You’re the man Tyler.
That’s awesome!

Send some of those rod gloves to Scott Martin, in one of his most recent vids he said he’s looking for some good rod holder/sleeves.
i enjoy fishing alot. but i would still like to catch fish. im getting fed up tho in 0-5 in the past month
Any thoughts on a huge bed fish that sees your boat runs away for a long time. But its tournament winner Thoughts??

Showing the rod gloves on your rods would be a better option in advertising. Just a suggestion
Agreed

The BEST teacher is failure….the true mark of a great angler is what you do with that FAILURE. Complacency is the true enemy to success not Failure!
Gotta say this was some inspiring shit. You got me to quit messing around and get it done today.
Hell yeah! A dry lure ain’t gonna catch no fish!!!
This isn’t a fishing lesson, this is a life lesson
Great tips
Thanks for watching

Before this my main strategy to avoid a skunk was crappies and bluegill
What do you think about Texas rigging a lizards
I don’t personally use them a lot but that’s not because they don’t eat them. I think lizards are great and they can be super effective
Use dynamite 😂😂😂 sometimes I think I’d still zero 😂😂😂
Hook and a worm...not fun but guaranteed you will get something. Likely tiny but it avoids the skunk!
How do you know i am getting skunned
throw a wacky worm
I just got mine in the mail heard they were good 🤔
If you spend 15-20 minutes in one spot on a pond do you move or change baits and try the new bait for 15-20 minutes?

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Step 1 , weightless fluke
rule #1 don't cast off your lures
Fish docks, you can't get skunked, always bass under docks somewhere.
I tried that today and couldn't get a bite.
@@bassmedic Better quit fishing then, take up golf.
Tip #1: don’t be gay and fish for bass
This comment is from catfish/walleye gang
Catfish are gay. Not challenging like bass are. No contest.
