Lucy sooooo deserved that win yesterday!!! And I noticed that she wasn't her usual, outgoing self leading into the race. I was glad to hear to say that she was just really really focused. It was so wonderful to watch the women with all the attention, excellent coverage and overwhelming support for each other. Thanks Bob!!!
Great season for you as well bob! Making all the triathlon fans across the world happy with your lovely interviews! Thanks for being you and being the gap between us fans and these incredible athletes!
I dared not watching the race live as I was so worrying...it was mid-night in London and I kept waking up just to see where Lucy was. Not surprised when she won the swim but then how about the bike? Felt excited saw her leading the bike but started worrying about the run... Over the moon when found that she eventually won the whole thin!!! Yes although never met her but she touched my life. Thank you Lucy!
Smiling all the way through this video. Love the sentiment that winning after trying for so long is much sweeter. 💪🏼 Something for athletes at all levels to hold onto. 🙏
When I finished Ironman Wales in 2022, I was speaking to an experienced athlete who has completed multiple Ironman races all over the World, and he said Lanzorote was the hardest race he had ever done - that was until he had just completed Wales. He said they are the hardest races for different reasons - the heat being an obvious one. So that said, Lucy, its time you came to Wales - would love to see you on the beach in Tenby. Congratulations on your amazing win - was only a matter of time.
I have been watching ironman champions since Lucy come out, and it was fun to watch Lucy was always at lead group and she was constantly 2nd places for few years. That was great achievement.😊
Amazing performance by Lucy. One can only imagine how good (and painful) it must feel to have all your work come together and lead an ironman championship for over 8 friggin hours with these quality of competitors on your heels. What an inspiration for young women all over the world. Not only can you win the toughest (maybe next to Lanzarote ?) swim/bike/run competition, but you can also look good doing it. Didn't realize it took Mark 7 times until today.
.......one a pro athlete cramp at the first mile it's the clear indicator that the body can't be push 100% from now on, chances that more cramps will put them out of the race.....it's a given. Her statement is the truth about how much mentally stronger women can be. I won't be surprise that she created her own long time injury crossing that finish line. She showed at her best and played a pocker face behind pain.........just amazing! Contrats to all women finishing this race !
As an aside to the magnificent performance, I'd just like to add that I think the 'experiment' of separating out the mens and women's events has now been proven to be a total success. Well done ironman.
Amazing race. For all the women. Especially those finishing in close to 17 hours. Inspiring. Disappointed not to see the champion following the time honored tradition of welcoming those final finishers across the line.
Lucy deserved this win. Fantastic run this year. Can any expert tell me why drafting is forbidden? Wouldnt drafting help that gaps could be closed better? This year the bike ride was more a train ride.
Where are all of the questions about whether she was getting splits on the run and how she was reacting when Anne Haug was closing in on her? Tell us more about the calf. Who were her biggest concerns pre race? On the bike did she know the time back to her main concerns? Did she know it was growing? Did she have a time gap to Haug that she was aiming for? Did she know Ryf was not closing in the bike? So how fast did she think she could run?
When I read comments like this, I wonder why the person doesn't do it. - And...we consume this content for free and should be grateful. Greetings from Germany🙂
Same, how rude! She obviously was busy yesterday racing. She naturally has darker hair, so her eyebrows are dark compared to the blonde dye she colors her hair with. Maybe she gets them laminated or something, that would be aero right??!! Gotta get all the marginal gains 🤙🏼
That is a current fashion. I dont personally necessarily love that, but millions of women do just that. Get with the times....Be current before commenting...
So happy this story wasn’t an Andreas Raelert repeat. The most powerful execution of this race I’ve ever witnessed. Lucy you are an Ironman.
Ironman World Champion. They never said the last two words for me 😔
She’s a beautiful machine, well well deserved!
I now honorably remove the Andreas Raelert tag :)
Man I am so pleased for Lucy. So, so deserved 🏴
Amazing performance by LCB! Lucy is the champion that we can all cheer for. No quit in her over the years. So inspiring to all age groupers. Job done!

That first year in 2017 when lucy was overtaking the pro men in the swim she was something special. Well deserved 🍺
Smiling all the way through this video. Love the sentiment that winning after trying for so long is much sweeter. 💪🏼 Something for athletes at all levels to hold onto. 🙏

Never been a Lucy follower but even I was cheering her on from the first transition. If anybody deserved a win it was her. Congratulations.
How happy does look. We love you LCB.
Hooray Lucy!!!! You will surely recover quickly with such a fabulous cake :p I cried, what an amazing performance 🎉
That dessert is well-deserved!
Woohoo, Lucy! Glad your day finally came!
So happy for her!!!❤🎉
I have followed her career. To have come second x4 years. To never quit through all her ups and downs. I have so much respect for her.
One of my favorite Ironman performances. Led from the first stroke of the swim!
Super happy for LCB!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you win Ironman you get to wear your own shirt! Congrats! This is amazing and would take me about 80 hours instead of 8. LCB FTW!!
LCB is so humble- we are all so proud of her!

Congratulations Lucy, Team Battle Braid’s forever. So happy for you, it was fantastic seeing you win this race.
So hyped for LCB - so so we’ll-earned!
No one deserves this more than you! "be strong, be present, be grateful, be confident." Quote: Pete Jacobs Greetings from Germany
Lucy had the perfect day ❤
The last hour was so stressful whether she was going to finish it in the first place or something was coming up! I'm so happy for her.
I'm so happy for Lucy!
"No pain is going to be as bad as not winning" - great motto, will use that on my next 10K!
Way to go!!
Congratulations Lucy! That's a cake, wow. Looks like a statue!
Yes
Lucy is Glowing!!
Lucy gave me an energy boost
Haha the poker face comments were great
The real people’s champ 🫡

She was there, but around 10:00 pm she had to go the the hospital. OK the next morning.
Seems like going to hospital is a pretty big thing. How come you did not ask her about that in the interview?
How come you did not cover her hospital visit in your interview?@@babbittville ???
That was amazing.. How was the cake
Well done Lucy….🎉
Love you LCB
Lucy deserved this win. Fantastic run this year. Can any expert tell me why drafting is forbidden? Wouldnt drafting help that gaps could be closed better? This year the bike ride was more a train ride.
Lucy's time beat the men's time as far back as 2004.

Imagine how tired she'd be today! Hopefully still riding the high! 🎉
❤
What did you think of Lucy drafting?
Lucy looks gutted! Time for a break and recovery!
Where is the breakfast 🤔
downstairs at their amazing buffet....
echo from the speakers :(
Gotta wonder if she would have set the course record if she had to deal with the male AG traffic.
True, nice clear roads
She went 8:24 off a 49 swim, 4:32 bike. There wouldn’t have been any male AG traffic
Now when she one Kona she have time tu work on eyebrows....
😂
What's wrong with her eyebrows...seem ok to me...
@peachxblue I'm gonna look up the mens champion and have a look at his eyebrows 😀😃

Shame on you. Stop commenting on a womans appearance. It has no relevance to this video and is nothing to do with her athletic performance.
Great year, get some rest!
