I've been vegan for about 7 years and was vegetarian for 14 years before that. It's not difficult at all if you cook your own food and mostly eat at home. It can be trickier when going out to eat, for example one big difference between vegetarian and vegan is that if you go out for coffee with a friend, you usually can't eat any of the cakes/slices available, and can't just pop into a bakery for something quick if you are caught out and about at a meal time. But for me that's a small price to pay for the animals and to be true to my ethical beliefs.
Hi A T, yes that can be tricky but also helpful. It stops the temptation of buying food that isn’t really necessary, or healthy. I also chose to become vegan for ethical reasons, after I had looked into the dairy industry, I had chosen to become vegetarian for ethical reasons too. Hugs 🥰❤️
@@RowenaMarie That's true, I definitely don't waste much money on junk food!
Hi Rowena I really related to your answer re keeping presents. At one stage i began to feel like people didn’t know me at all. Then i read a book called The Five Love Languages and it all made sense. What people give you is often a reflection of what they would like. Now i take it as a hint in choosing presents for them and either regift or give away their present. I dont sell them as i prefer to pass on the blessing. I no longer feel guilty about this but i also drop a lot more hints about what i really like. Lots of love from our home to yours ❤️🙏🏻
Hi Kevan and Debbie, I have found that since I became minimalist and the people in my life understood the types of things I wanted, I have not had any issues with gifts. Often I get asked if there is anything I would like, otherwise I tend to get items that are usable rather than decorative, but I am always grateful for whatever I get. Big hugs and sending much love back to you. 🥰❤️
I watch all your videos over anf over, you the best on Frugality and Minimalism. i have watch them all
I like the idea, and reasons the way you explain. I want to try it, I a hoarder, if one is good 3 is better. MAYBE NOT! LOVE YOU AND YOUR VEIDOS.
Thanks so much Rowena, I enjoy your videos and practical ideas😀
Hi Leisa, 🙏. I am glad you find them useful and thanks for saying hi 🥰
Hi Rowena. Thank you answering our questions. Your helpful discussion is really appreciated. It's reassuring to listen to you be honest about when you began meditating, wondering about what you were 'supposed' to feel etc. I think we can put pressure on ourselves about doing things 'properly' and as a result, miss the whole beneficial point entirely! You've reminded me to relax. Thank you!
I too have switched to a plant based diet around five years ago and it's working out well. But do you take any supplements at all? They can be expensive and I wonder if they're always necessary, especially when working at minimalism?
I don't want to bombard you, but I was also thinking about how interesting it would be to hear your thoughts from a frugal, plant based perspective about preparation regarding possible food shortages we are being warned about and can see unfolding in some places in the world with all the current events. I'm assuming you're in Australia (or NZ) and maybe its not an issue in your region. But I was wondering what your angle might be? THere's no pressure to answer - I know you're busy. I'm just thinking out loud ... Take care xx
Hi Azurite, I’m glad my answer helped you 😊. I don’t mind you asking me questions at all. I do take supplements because I find them useful to my overall well-being. I take b12, because as vegans we don’t get a lot of that naturally, apart from nutritional yeast. I also take Vit D, and magnesium. They are not too expensive and I find them really useful. I am in Australia btw. We do have our own garden so we get some produce from that and over time we hope this produces more of our fresh food requirements. As for meditation it does get easier over time. The key is to enjoy the experience for what it is without concerning ourselves that we have to achieve something by doing it. It’s a great way to help quiet the mind and I have found it has helped me in my daily life to be able to stay calm regardless of the external situation. Have a great day. Hugs 🥰❤️
Good evening Rowena I really enjoyed your A & Q video. I'm with you on the freedom aspect of frugality, for me, my time is important. I'm so thankful and grateful, for this lifestyle it's a blessing for sure. I to am plant based. I became plant based for ethical and for health reasons. I look forward to your next video.
Hi Dawn 🙏. Yes Dawn I couldn’t agree more. Time to do the things you want to in life is so very important to me. I think as we get older we are aware of just how limited time is and I know I want to make the most of it. Have a lovely evening doing things you love 🥰❤️
This was really fun. The only thing I find hard to declutter are gifts also. I am so afraid my loved ones feelings will be hurt. I have decluttered gifts but I carry guilt about it. I think in future it will be easier, as I have asked for plants or consumable gifts. Really enjoying your videos.
Hi Joanne, 🙏. Once I became minimalist I started to ask my loved ones for gifts that I could use and this has really changed things for me. I no longer have that issue of feeling guilty about getting rid of things because I don’t have to 😊. Hugs 🥰
Wonderful video, very insightful! Thank you for sharing with us exploring and trying to started with frugality and minimalism!
Hi Alma, I am so glad you enjoyed it, thanks for letting me know 🥰
To the person who wanted to know whether to spend money on their house or sell as is - maybe get an assessment from an estate agent or real estate agent (depending on where you live) and then ask how that would change with the repairs?
Hi Zena, that is a great suggestion 😊
Thank you for the vieeo!
Hi Tia, thanks for watching 😊. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰❤️
Lovely vid as usual
Hi Barbara 🙏 I’m glad you enjoyed watching it 🥰❤️
And you're not dying of a protein deficiency. lol. honestly, it was the long-term vegans that made me switch. I could see that they weren't dying. It'll be 5 years for me this fall. 😊
Hi HouseBee 😂😂😂 no I’m definitely not dying of a protein deficiency, in fact I would say I’m pretty darn healthy 😁. There’s so much ignorance around being vegan that I really think many people don’t know what a healthy way it is to live. Love that you’re plant based too! Hugs 🥰❤️
Hi darling 👋🏾
Hi Nish 😊🥰
