When a recipe calls for ingredients used to add flavor only I go to the spice cabinet. Onion flakes or garlic flakes for fresh onion or garlic. Celery seed for chopped celery. Dried parsley and cilantro. Pepper flakes, Potato flakes. Of course dried beans and legumes and lentil are the best priced. Make big batches at once and freeze in serving amounts. Bottled lime and lemon juice.

The one comment 2 years later is, I am stunned that you are saying a plant based eating plan is not widely utilised. I beg to differ. I would say 20 plus years ago it was not catered for or supported widely. However now, it is a vast culture. Especially in my region of Tasmania. Curious to know how that may have changed for you.

Thank you for sharing. I do all of the ones you mentioned. I dry all my clothes on the clothesline. And if it’s rainy I have a line under the verandah rather than using the clothes airer indoors.

Hi Rowena, enjoyed your videos. Very direct to the point and not overly long . I am from Adelaide too, and my first house I bought was at Craigmore, built in 1997. At that time it was similar paying mortgage than paying rent. I too thought buy further out and cheaper. It was a small mortgage then $80k. I am thankful that I bought then and own it outright after 10 years. Then upgrade to closer to city, less travelling time to work and my forever home also built 2014. I am thankful I am not building in 2022. I also love gardening and growing fruit trees along the border of back fence. My garden is only small since the upgrade but I do plant my herbs like coriander, chillis. Parsley, spinach. Tomatoes in summer. It’s nothing like picking your own produce and using fresh in my cooking. Thanks for all your videos, very informative.

Beauty products are expensive. I only buy a serum for discoloration and wrinkles. I do not purchase their recommended moisturizer and just use organic coconut oil from my kitchen. Works great. I also purchase a quality foundation but try to stick to “ clean “ drugstore makeup used sparingly.

My Dad was a 25 bottles beer day for 12 years. He neglected maintaining house so he could have more beer. I paid $16600 to get house up to code n when i was broke he laughed n sId noone asked me to. That hurt it was money i worked hard for for college. Please dont drink alcohol, smoke or use drugs. PRAY.

I always eat or set aside everything in fridge ans since 1st freezer is empty i scrub it out completely n once completely dry put back whatever then scrub fridge. Then put stuff n cooler. N once dry put stuff in. We have bacon thick pieces usually $16 n when i make bacon n eggs toast n honefries i only use 11/2 strip bacon. Its enuf cause bscons thick n im saving bacon grease. For lard. I got a 10lb tube hamburger today. Ill flatten half then add salt n ketchup n 1/3 box rice cereal then knead till cereal disappears. Then repeat then repeat again. Then ill cut off end for meatloaf. The rest ill make into patties fry up then once cool to room temp put in zip lock bags n freeze. Its enuf beef for a month. To extend it ill put patties in tomato soup and kidney beans n crackers n iced sun tea. Or add patties to generic tom soup add noodles for spag and add peanut butter sandwich to spaghetti or chili goes long way.Anyway it helps to save money. Some things r seasonsl like November for turkey get n freeze enuf for whole year. Make chicken or turkey noodle soup w bones or ham n bone w potatoe soup. It all adds up. PLEASE DONT DRINK, SMOKE TOBACCO OR POT OR USE DRUGS. EVERY CENT U SPEND ON SUCK IS MAKINO YOUR BABIES AND FAMILY POORER. PRAY TILL YOU R BLUE IN THE FACE IF NEED BE AND GET OTHERS TO PRAY WITH U

I was given a kitchen microfiber cleaning cloth set and they are really good at wiping up messes. But I don't think I'd buy them as they are not good for the environment as they let loose a lot of minute particles into the water systems with each wash. 😢

Other than toilet paper, I no longer buy one use items. I use reusable paper towels, napkins, zip lock bags, and glass food storage. I live in the country. I am planning that any food waste will go into compost and putting dry stuff into reusable bags. My wife hasn't bought into that part yet, lol

Sounds good 👍 No expensive holidays for us either. I cleanse my sunscreen and make up with olive oil and a tissue. If we want something sweet to eat, we bake. I'm eating right now apple-oat thingy...🤭🤭 (My mother language isn't english.) We have also a minimalist home. So much easier to clean... No area rugs or carpets. No decorative items. I enjoy when I can see empty surface
