Great transformation! I have a real soft spot for E36's and I'm glad another one has been saved :)

Nice job Ed, but please flip the side indicators to the opposite side so they are installed correctly. 🙏

OMG! I have this same car but mine is the convertible (w some mods, I live in the mountains). Estoril blue with black interior. I love my blue beauty. You will smile every time u drive it!
My only complaint is the clutch spring has popped a few times & the steering pump has been an issue but other than that its been solid! A hobbyists (badass)dream!

Yeh me i like M539 Too but he just throws £5 grand here and £2 grand there. This is my way of doing things . I learn a lot from you .

Labour would be way more than the prices of the parts... My guess is 7000 quid for the work alone. Some parts are really inexpensive, like the valve stem seals, which are only 100 quid or so from BMW. But doing the job at a BMW shop would be around 3-4K i reckon...

Would I be wrong to say the total labor came under 4.5k? Incredible work you did. I binged on ALL 4 episodes. I have an E36 2.8i that's in a worse state that this one. How does one reach out for further advice?

As for labour, I would say 35-40 hours at whatever your shop rate is...

I prefer this channel to M539 because you aren't just throwing money at cars. On the discs, the F01 7 Series is another car with handed discs - fit them the wrong way and 500 miles later they are warped and scrap. I also re-grease old belt rollers. The side repeaters are on the wrong way around though!
When you fit the eccentric wishbone bushes, fit them so that the hole is closer to the outside of the car. That moves the outer balljoint forwards, moves the wheel forwards and increases the castor angle.

M539 is a great channel but I just don't understand why is wasting money on fucking original radiotors hoses and shit which is nothing better then silicone aftermarket.. for example like with horns there M539 would wasted another few hundred for original m3 horns or whatever shit..
So yes I prefer this type of fixing with camon sense including wherever you can do it better and not waste money on original plastic shit and hoses..

Comes down to what is your goal for the car. If you are just looking to flip and make a profit then that is one thing then you have to go used OEM or aftermarket. If you are looking to the keep the car and run it for another 100k then you can do what M539 is doing which is go OEM and also do preventative.
