    Wow. So glad to know that mine isn't the only one that was unusable out of the box. Will do RAM first and see if that makes me happier!

    Very good video, i was looking for a new laptop to buy because my lenovo was extremely slow and everything i found was above 200 or 300 dollars, thank god i found this video and now i have the same performance of a $300 but for less than $40. I bought the same ssd and ram from the video and follow the instructions step by step. The keyboard was really hard to take out but i finally did, already installed the ssd and the improvement of performance is remarkable, the RAM arrives today, I'll update when I install it. I'll probably do the same with my girlfriend's laptop. Thank you very much, this video was really helpful, saved me a lot of money.

    couple of questions, youre mixing ddr3 ram and ddr4 which is a big no no from my experiences, also they seem to be different speed from factory specs. Now that its been a couple of months, how has it faired? is it running with priority on the ddr4 stick as well as with the clock speed of the upgrade ram? is it still running smoothly or have you been experiencing crashes. sorry, i just wanna make double sure before i go ahead and purchase.

    Hi, I have this laptop (UK version 110-15IBR) and the Lenovo website states the maximum supported RAM is 8Gb, with 4Gb soldered onto the motherboard. Was your laptop/notebook the same? or did you have a greater maximum of supported memory? I want to upgrade the RAM, but no point in buying an 8Gb if it will only utilize 4Gb of it. thanks in advance.

    • @GizmoJoeReviewsTech
      @GizmoJoeReviewsTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your laptop should have a model number somewhere...it's usually on the bottom. Plug that into Google and see if you can find the manufacturer's specs - that will tell you what RAM you need. I find that Amazon is usually the most convenient when purchasing RAM, however there are a lot of retailers that sell it (Newegg, etc). Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Just so people are aware, this particular model is spec rated for a maximum of 8GB of Ram, 4GB soldered to the MB and an expansion slot for an extra 4GB of memory. Yes, people have installed more than 4GB of Ram and the system may see it but in the long run, overloading Ram (could) potentially slow down the system or cause other problems because while it has all of this extra Ram it may not be able to do anything with it. It all depends on what the MB is rated for.

    Question on the RAM upgrade since the 4gb RAM is built in will dual channel work on this? You upgraded it to 8gb on pc we use the same size of ram and frequency for performance in this case will it affect the system if the upgrade is higher? Not familiar on built RAMs yet appreciate the help.

    • @GizmoJoeReviewsTech
      @GizmoJoeReviewsTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Apologies for the late reply. From what i understand, Lenovo has the ability to use the RAM in dual channel mode, even if different sticks are installed. Basically, it will use the 4gb that is soldered to the mobo with 4gb of the ram stick in dual channel mode. The remaining 4gb of RAM from the stick is allocated separately - if that makes any sense. I think this has a name, but it escapes me at the moment. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    • @GizmoJoeReviewsTech
      @GizmoJoeReviewsTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ideapad 110 has 4GB soldered to the motherboard, so there is only one free RAM slot. You could put a 16GB stick in there and bump up the total RAM to 20GB if you wish. Thanks for watching!
