    Thanks for including my designs! On a side note all my orders include a piece of candy as well. 😅 Original plates are acrylic, the quick swap plates are polycarbonate so they won’t shatter.

    OK Hot Tip #2 for the waste board panels, mill out a shallow rabbit on each edge of the MDF 6mm wide by 3mm deep using a dado or the router itself, place 2 MDF panels side to side, grab a "T" bolt and spread each board slightly to determine a width of gap, that allows the "T" Bolt to slide freely in-between the two MDF panels, you have just made a "T" track for FREEEEE, screw down your waste board panels as normal maintaining this gap. Obviously do not over tighten to burst through the MDF, besides if you did you must be clamping way too aggressively in the first place.

    Nice video - 2 things:
    Just an observation: I love me t-slots. I do one off projects, and it is great for what I do. You do a production run, so t-slots are not great for you.
    Your point about liking to design in the software is spot on. I had an idea for a design 2 days ago, and suddenly I had to work it out in my CAD/CAM (obsessed?). 24 hours later I had a video on that part. You don't have to be OCD for CNC, but it helps...

    I've been considering getting into CNC woodworking for a while and Onefinity seems like the best option in this price bracket but all the tinkering and extra accessories needed is what's keeping me back. All I want is something to be bought as a complete package that just works OOTB.
    Got into 3D printing a couple of years ago but also waited quite a while - I now have a Prusa printer and I'm waiting for their XL that should be out later this year. They as a company have made it SO easy - everything is included, it just works and you can concentrate your time on making stuff and not on tinkering or searching through endless reviews or forum posts to fix issues or find the right upgrades.
    Anyways - keep these videos coming.

      Hi I just bought a Onefinity CNC router and you are 100% correct the needed accessories are a bit of a concern BUT as a Mech Eng. I will gladly confirm it is one of if not the best most common sense constructed CNC Router out there at that price point! This is what made me give into the accessory conundrum.

    OK hot tip if anyone is interested and RV'ers will know exactly what I am talking about, for dust collection use a 3" sewer hose with the "twist peg" fittings, these hoses are cheap and wire wound so they do not collapse under vacuum - but they have a "self gathering" capability and self adjust their length while under vacuum and take very little drag force to feed out when needed, the "twist peg" arrangement allow for quick disconnect and reconnect, and NO they are not super robust but given the price and depending use changing it out once a year (or less) is no problem.

    I bought the OneFinity x50, still in boxes. I was going to use drag chains for all the cables and use a hose above the machine for dust collection.

    I agree 100% on the auto tool change......been my biggest gripe and the reason I would go with another company later for my larger machine even tho I really like Onefinity.

    Great info, Hamilton. I've only had my Journeyman a couple months and have picked up several accessories you showed. I have the rail blankets and set them up, then removed them. I will have to revisit that choice. I have the puck holder, but it's still in the package while I decide where my control box will live, either above the table or below it. I'm waiting on a little USB extender to show up today, which is what will help me move the control box below the table.

    I absolutely love my onefinity, I think that I’m going to have to improve my dust collection to be more like yours along with the cloth protectors to the side. The ball screws or whatever they are called got clogged on mine the other day and I had to stop in the middle of something and fix it which was annoying. But overall this machine is 👌🏼

    Also, you have to consider that for a company that would like to export to other countries, the tool changers can affect the export, classification, so that price goes up even more. They are uniquely set in a price/product niche at this time.

    Great video as always. I'm having trouble finding the links to the 3d printed easy parts. I've got my dust collector system setup and x50 is a week out. I'd love to copy your setup.
    P.s. my wife loved the lama and elephant lacing toys!

    Awesome video! Unpopular opinion, I think T-Tracks are a waste and at the very least everyones first waste board should be a flat sheet with nothing on it except for maybe a vertical and horizontal reference piece.

    • @ScoobySnackOG
      @ScoobySnackOG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If three of us including the video creator think t track was a bad decision then is it really unpopular at this point 😂😂. But I agree

    If you had to do it all over again would you have gotten a larger CNC? Avid?

    • @HamiltonDilbeck
      @HamiltonDilbeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think about this every now and then. I personally don't think that the Avid is 2x or 3x better than the Onefinity for what I do. I would get 2 onefinity machines before an Avid. But then again, I don't have one! Maybe they will send me one and I can put them side by side and see!

      Onefinity doesn't sell or make design software. A easy free software is Easel, I'd check them out.
