Hey man that's a cool ride.. not air cooled anymore.. thanks for the Inspiration.. I have converted my bug into rotar non turbo 12a bp.. almost finished. How did u do the throttle cable? Any photos or videos? Thanks
I'm sure I mentioned the throttle cable in another video, but I made it from cable bought a homedepot and to make the sleeve longer I first used the sleeve from a speedo cable and 2nd time is from an ebrake cable
Still type 1 I got videos on it and how I went on to build it myself, but if you got some cash and didn't buy the adapter you can go with the subagears kit and run a Subaru 5 speed with IRS I would have done it myself if I knew about them, just my 2cents
@@TurboWarioTV Thats awesome haha. You got a new sub. I got my starting issue figured out on my bug and Im gonna follow up on some vids getting it back on the road. I'm hoping my type 1 can hold up to the 22r. I'm thinking it'll be fine.
I saw this bug on Jay Leno's garage and immediately told myself I wanted to do the same engine build. However, I don't know where to even begin. I know the engine used but who can do it for me. And what dollar amount should I look to build this amazing running bug. Please connect me with the right people. - Joe
Yes I'm in Lancaster That's a tall order. First what part you got ? The cost of a rotary has shot up the last year to the moon, you can build a turbo VW motor or go Subaru with a Subaru transmission for the 13b money almost.
@@TurboWarioTV well I just bought the car, picking it up tomorrow. I don’t have much of a plan other than getting an engine and trying to get someone to put it in for me. Not a mechanic, but bought this to learn. After scouring TH-cam I saw yours on Leno’s garage and fell in love with it. I really like to do something in this direction
@@brickbanks2k You should make a list of parts and prices what you think you need and shop time cost.. like the motor 3-4k standalone ecu and harness 2k , adaptor like 1k . Brakes to stop ect..ect.. the best I can do for you is answer questions at this. Between my work schedule and family I barely get and garage time...lol
This is amazing in that it still sounds like aircraft! True to the older original motor!
That's one beautiful insect!

I snapped axles first then the other stuff started giving out you should be good for awhile that thing looks pretty light should be a blast
wow what a machine!!! what sort of wheel speed was that?
That was when it had 3.88 R&P. Later I rebuilt the transmission with 3.44 R&P which 6k plus =150+
@@TurboWarioTV geez mate that's around 200kph that's awesome brother well done 🤝
