But I have no idea how to use it and I'm terrified of it so I am gonna go back and binge all of your surgery videos! I love modern and historical sewing so being able to do ruffles with the machine, especially with the surger where it finishes all the edges for me, would be life-changing as far as how much I can create. I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia so I needed to find more efficient ways of dealing with my edges. Thank you so much for these videos!
Oh, I'm so glad! I thought I might be the only one that loved ruffles😂 I don't sew with knits too often and I hate dragging the serger out usually. But, I will haul her out in a heartbeat to do a ruffle! Thanks for watching!

Sewing is a new hobby for me and i've been learning through reading books and youtube videos. It was "easy" to learn the sewing machine, but I just struggle with the serger. Your videos have been such a great help to me! I hope to see more of them!
Thank you for this video. I’ve never used the foot before and wondered how much it will ruffle, especially if gathering a skirt to a bodice. I was afraid I’d be left with too much skirt and no bodice left or vice versa. So if the skirt is twice as long, it should be ok! Will give it a try!
Hello. I want to try the gathers/ruffles. I have been so afraid. To see you use the same model machine i have gives me hope. I was wondering what settings you have the needles and loopers on? Also what were the settings you used for the knit?
I just used the regular settings from the factory. Just get some scrap fabric and play around with it. It really is a lot of fun! If you try it you’ll probably be addicted to ruffles 😂

I want to use my serger making a skirt but the gather on the dress looks different than yours so i do have a lot of questions. I don’t want to mess up this skirt because i spent a lot on the fabric so is there somewhere i can send in my questions? The skirt im making is this one. This skirt has a flat gather that is applied on top of the other fabric. You won't be able to use the serger for this effect. Probably gathering by hand like she did in the video and then applying with a regular sewing machine is going to be the best option. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

@@tamilawest8675 A serger is designed to do edge finishes, so I'm not sure you can. I know you can disengage the knife, but I have never done that. I'll see what I can find out.
