Note - I only cover a few of the new features in this short vid, the full list is below. Amen Break Generator runs on iPad, iPhone and Android, and a great free update just dropped for the iPad and iPhone versions, making the app AUv3. Previously it only had IAA connectivity. There are other cool new features too. Links below, and here’s what’s new: • Audio Unit v3 Support: Includes MIDI capabilities such as transport messages, slice triggering and loop selection using MIDI notes. • Built-in Looper: A powerful tool that repeats the last 16 steps of the played sequence, enabling seamless looping and overdubbing for effortless creativity. • A user manual available in the app. • Native Ul for iPads • App reloads last used break on relaunch. • Several bug fixes and stability improvements. Links: IOS Version: apps.apple.com/app/amen-break-generator-revived/id6467719500 Android version link too btw (this video refers to the iOS version, Android does not have AUv3 functionality). play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.havranilho.amenbreakgenerator 🟩My top iOS music production apps of 2024: th-cam.com/video/hStsYA4LsEI/w-d-xo.html Cheers folks! Awesome, I hope they add a proper landscape mode for standalone use, even inside AUM the interface looks tiny being only portrait mode, I hope the developer read this comment!
@@GavinskisTutorials ok maybe im doing something wrong, hope it works that would be cool. what ios version are you running? if its a bug i dont see how it would just effect me haha
Thank you Holden - have not been able to hear properly out of one ear for more than 2 weeks now due to prolonged cold and sinus issues, feeling pretty rough. Getting a bit better but it is a very very slow improvement
@ Oh no. I’ve had similar sinus infections in the past. A “netty pot” treatment with saline solution helped my sinus infections (or even a simple tilt the head back and rinse each nostril 👃 out with a saline product like “Ocean” (brand name in the US) or a store brand alternative to Ocean). 🌊 ahhhh.
@@GavinskisTutorialsI don’t think my last comment posted. I was writing that I’ve had sinus infections in the past. If I was able to treat them early on with a saline rinse and blow out all the (insert your own grotesque adjective here) the infection wouldn’t be as bad or it wouldn’t become infected. With you being a person that is sound active (and perhaps activated), not having full hearing is a laborious circumstance I’m sure. May you have a full recovery soon.
@cartoondesignrevealed thanks - I've been doing nasal rinses a few times a day since it started, using a neti pot. I've been steaming at least once a day etc. I dunno, for some reason it's just particularly hard to get rid of. Thnx again
Cant you just achieve the same in Loopy pro by loading the amen break into a loop and using a slicer widget and midi learn notes to trigger those slices? Or is this app offering something different?
I don’t really use Loopy, so you’d best ask someone who knows both this app and loopy well. If you know loopy well, if you have a glance at the manual for this app, or even just at the UI, you will be able to figure that out yourself too. Loopy is deep and I have never had the time to really use it even in a superficial way never mind learning it properly, cheers
But yeah, this does really quite a few different things. I’m not going to list them all as you’ll get that info in the manual. I’d be surprised if loopy can do all this does. Maybe with considerable set-up, I dunno
I’m sure that many of apps from both mobile and desktop platforms would make it possible to break the loops in similar way. Still, ABG is designed strictly for this purpose and as a pick-up-and-play type of app, it can instantly offer a lot of fun to non-musicians.

I really hope scratch-it will get an AUv3 update soon. That would change my whole world!
I think that's highly likely ✨
Thanks for your videos - I hope you are feeling better soon

Agreed, the resizing of the AUv3 is poor and it's a pity the standalone is also just portrait mode
@GavinskisTutorials Yes, if you have communication with the developer please mention that 👍🏻
glitching up the amen break will never get old
Amen!
Thanks, Gav!
Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you!
it still doesn't sync to AUM transport or bpm so whats the point , thats frustrating i thought this update would include that ability
Hmm, it follows AUM transport start, stop and bpm etc for me. Maybe contact the dev, you might have run into a bug

@UnrealOcean I'm on 18.2 I think. Good luck anyway! Try a reinstall maybe, and / or a device restart, those often fix these weird glitches
@@GavinskisTutorials ok will do thanks
Hi,
having trouble with it as well seems it's very buggy still, it does run better in AUM and terrible in cubasis 3, Hope they updated soon 🤞🏼
Nice. 🎉 I hope you are well soon Gav

I just purchased the app and instead of being charged 3.99us i was charged 23.49us. Can someone advise what to do?
Ask Apple for a refund?
@ Thank you! First time i have done this and it worked!
How strange!
