Long in the dying, that saying means that Sunfyre was taking a long time to die so Sir Criston left guards to watch over Sunfyre. Meaning Sunfyre is not dead, meaning Sunfyre still lives

No, "long in the dying" usually means someone took a long time to die, but they are finally dead. It doesn't mean someone is still dying. Notice how Criston uses the word *was* long in the dying, not *is* long in the dying. Which means Criston thinks Sunfyre has finally died. Maybe he got word on his way back to kingslanding, or he just assumed by now, the dragon is dead.

@rexibhazoboa7097 I think it's up for interpretation, that's a fair one. I'd say he was speaking in past tense simply because he was recounting what HE saw, he's no longer there so no longer would speak in present tense.

@rexibhazoboa7097 I doubt they will kill sunfyre because it would require changes from the book that would be hard to rectify to get the same end. It would also break show cannon with what joffrey says in season 3

Queen Alysanne was King Jahaerys’s wife. Alysanne and Jahaerys were brother-sister husband-wife and their dragons were Silverwing and Vermithor respectively.
Rhaenyra mom was Aemma Arryn (her mother was a Targaryen, her father an Arryn) and she didn’t have a dragon. Aemma Arryn is why Rhaenyra has called this new character Jeyne Arryn her cousin.
Daeron is Alicents other son that is living in Oldtown. His dragon is Tessarion. They have mentioned him a few times this season.

Dragons who used to have riders but are currently without one usually return to Dragonstone, where Rhaenyra resides currently. Dragonstone is the ancestral home of the Targaryens when they first got to Westeros, and it was chosen because it's so hospitable to dragons. Dragonstone is a volcanic island with an active volcano on it, known as the Dragonmont. The island has many firepits, making it a great place for a hatchery and a nice resting spot for the dragons who prefer that warmth. So if they have no rider, they come "home" to Dragonstone Island because they prefer to live there than sitting around in the dragonpit under the Red Keep. I'm sure you can imagine that no matter how big a pit they've constructed, it can get crowded with more than a 4 or 5 full-size dragons down there. At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, there are 3 unbonded, wild dragons living in the caverns of the volcano. There is The Cannibal, Grey Ghost, and Sheepstealer, and then 3 riderless semi-wild but previously bonded dragons, Seasmoke (Laenor Velaryon's dragon before he left), Vermithor (once ridden by King Jaehaerys I Targaryen), and Silverwing (ridden by his wife, Queen Alysanne, Rhaenyra's great-grandmother).
Vermithor, called the Bronze Fury, is a male dragon and is the next biggest dragon to Vhagar. Silverwing is only a little smaller than Vermithor.
Seasmoke we have already seen and know well by now. He is of fighting size during the Dance but still a young dragon and very nimble in flight. He is about three times smaller than Vermithor.
Of the wild dragons, only Sheepstealer plays any role in the Dance according the Wiki of Ice and Fire website. We have not seen him yet, and his age is murky, though it seems he is a little younger than Vermithor.
Although he doesn't play an active part in the Dance, according to the wiki The Cannibal gets plenty of mention in the books though, as with all things "Blood and Fire" book-related, there are conflicting stories about him/her/it because Cannibal went unclaimed. It fed on dragon eggs, dead dragons, and newborn baby dragons. Since the Cannibal is so antagonistic to Valyrian dragons and cannot be claimed by a Valyrian rider, it is _speculated_ he might be a different breed of dragon altogether, one native to Westeros (perhaps the last one). But he is possibly even older than Vhagar, though maybe not as big. I mention him now only because we might get several more mentions of him as the show goes on.

Harrenhall actually wasn’t abandoned in Game of thrones. Lady Whent is the lord of Harrenhall and she is mentioned once in season one episode 4 of game of thrones. Joffrey strips it from her and gives it to Janos Slynt, but then after Janos Slynt is sent away to the wall, it’s eventually given to Littlefinger and not back to Lady Whent. Daeron was mentioned earlier this season but has yet to show on screen. Otto said daeron is in oldtown
The blacks have access to the unclaimed dragons because they live in the caves of dragonstone, seasmoke is spotted flying around both dragonstone and driftmark flying between both but does not seem to leave. Vermithor and silverwing arent in kings landing because their riders ashes are interred on dragonstone
Viserys wife was aemma, alysanne was the wife of the conciliator and grandmother to viserys, referenced in the show with the line "kings landing has been in decline since my grandmother passed"
"This is where jeyne arryn was in game of thrones" i believe you mean lysa, jeyne arryn is the woman in this scene 😂❤
That was always his mother in the sex scene, daemon didn't recognise her because she died when daemon was two giving birth to her third son aegon who died just less than a year later

    Dragon sizes in descending order:
    1) Vhagar - the oldest dragon, the one with the most battle experience.
    2) Vermithor - He is the second-largest dragon in Westeros, currently riderless and untamed. If he gets bound to a new rider, it’s likely that it’ll be a two-for-one deal because Vermithor is said to often seen coiled with Silverwing, Good Queen Alysanne’s dragon when she was still alive.
3)Sheepstealer - Audiences have yet to meet Sheepstealer, although Daemon makes a brief mention of him during their rundown and tally of dragons that remain ripe and unclaimed for the taking. Sheepstealer is a wild dragon that-as his name suggests-is infamous among the smallfolk for devouring both sheep and dogs. There is a metric TON of speculation out there about whether or not Sheepstealer is going to get the same rider he had in the books, but I won't speak on that, let's see what happens.
    4) Silverwing - As previously mentioned, Silverwing was the mount of Good Queen Alysanne Targaryen and is currently unclaimed in House of the Dragon. In contrast to her companion Vermithor, Silverwing is considered to be friendlier and in fact, won the love of the people of the North during one of Queen Alysanne’s tours.
    5) Dreamfyre - Dreamfyre is a slender blue dragon with silver markings that hatched during the reign of the Conqueror. Currently, her rider is Helaena Targaryen loves her dearly. It is widely believed that Dreamfyre produced the eggs from which Daenerys’ Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal came from. I don't believe we have seen her yet, which is a shame because after the murder of her son, Helaena never rides her again in the books. Show could be different though.
    6) Caraxes - Also known as the Blood Wyrm (some fans call him the Noodle Dragon because he is shaped so differently). Prior to bonding with Daemon, he was first ridden by Aemon the Prince of Dragonstone in at least two battles, while Daemon famously rode the dragon during the War in the Stepstones prior to bringing him forward once more for the Dance. So right now, amongst the claimed dragons, he has the most battle experience next to Vhagar.
    7) Syrax - With Meleys dead, the next in line is Syrax. Although large in size, unlike Caraxes, Syrax is not exactly well-versed in battle and has not gone on a hunt for many years during the outbreak of the civil war.
    8) Sunfyre - Although relatively young, Sunfyre is noted for being an excellent fighter. Cole says Sunfyre was "long in the dying" which means he may not be dead yet, so we will see if his show fate and his book fate are the same.
    9) Tessarion - Also called the Blue Queen on account of her cobalt wings, Tessarion is the chosen dragon of Viserys and Alicent’s youngest child, Daeron who also has yet to make an appearance on the show. Tessarion is roughly a third of the size of Vermithor but is considered to be of fighting weight. She is the youngest dragon that the Greens hold.
    10) Seasmoke - Seasmoke is roughly the same size as Tessarion but meeker in terms of disposition. Currently, he remains riderless following the supposed death of Laenor Velaryon. There is some question on how/if he can be mounted by another rider since he was bonded to Laenor and Laenor still lives...we think. Seasmoke is the one who Rhaenyra said was "resles of late," indicating that Laenor may have died in Essos, but we really don't know. But while some fans SWEAR a bonded dragon can't be claimed if the rider still lives, source material is deliberately vague about how the magic works, and we don't know what happens if a bonded dragon is _abandoned_ by its rider. Maybe Seasmoke's restlessness is due to the fact that it has been 4 or 5 years since he has seen or felt the presence of his rider.
    11) Vermax - the mount of Prince Jacaerys Velaryon. Vermax is still growing in size, probably considering his young age.
    12) Moondancer - the mount of Daemon's eldest daughter, Baela Targaryen. Moondancer is said to be "no larger than a warhorse and actually even weighs less." She is, however, VERY fast and appears to have been sized up for the show.
We have yet to see more of the dragon bound to Joffrey Velaryon, but like his brothers, Tyraxes is still growing. Currently, he is not yet ready for any battles or combat but can fly long distances. Stormcloud is the mount of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s eldest son, Aegon III, ans is still "wet from the egg". Rhaenyra's youngest, Viserys. has an egg that has not hatched yet.
Morghul is bound to Aegon II and Helaena’s daughter, Jaehaera, in the books, but the last we saw this was still an egg under her cradle.

All the dragons that are for potential team black reside in Dragonstone and not Kings Landing. Technically Kings Landing does have like two more riderless dragons in the dragon pit with Dreamfyre that weren’t mentioned by the comment you read. And Daeron is Alicents youngest son who wasn’t mentioned in season one but has been mentioned twice this season. He’s probably around age 15 and obviously that would mean he’s the younger brother of Aegon and Aemond and is even the youngest half-brother of Rhaenyra

    Happy to oblige. =)
King Jaehaerys was the grandfather to Viserys and Daemon, the one in the first scene of the show. Queen Alysanne was his wife and Viserys's grandmother. Thus their dragons are large and old and indeed powerful enough to challenge Vhagar as Jace mentions in this episode.
Daeron is Viserys's and Alicent's 3rd son and 4th child. Resides in Oldtown from the young age with his mother's family, the Hightowers.
A more thorough breakdown with details including very young dragons that can't be used for fighting but are still extant:
    GREENS:
    Combat ready dragons:
    - Vhagar - Aemond's. The largest and oldest (apart from Cannibal) living dragon, almost 180 years old. Huge, slow, but experienced and deadly.
    - Tessarion - Daeron's, Alicent youngest son residing in Oldtown. Splendid young cobalt dragon. Just reached fighting size, smallest of usable dragons for the Greens.
    - Dreamfyre - Helaena's. More than a 100 years old, large, strong. Helaena pretty much never rides, however, so Dreamfyre permanently resides in the Dragonpit in King's landing .
(- Sunfyre - Aegon's. Splendid large, heavy beast. A young dragon in his prime, fearsome fighter. Out of commission now.)
    Hatchlings useless for fighting purposes:
    - Shrykos - late prince Jaehaerys's dragon (the one killed by Blood and Cheese). Barely more than a hatchling, cannot be ridden yet, resides in the Dragonpit.
    - Morghul - princess Jaehaera's, Helaena's daughter. Barely more than a hatchling, cannot be ridden, resides in the Dragonpit.
    BLACKS:
    Combat ready dragons:
    - Syrax - Rhaenyra's. Large formidable dragon in her prime. Not experienced in battle, but a dangerous fighter.
    - Caraxes - Daemon's. Huge lean and dangerous, more than 60 years old. Very cunning and experienced in battle.
    - Vermax - Jacaerys's, Rhaenyra's eldest son. Young dragon just grown enough to be of fighting size.
    - Moondancer - Baela's. Young, small, barely grown enough for the girl to ride, very quick.
    Hatchlings useless for fighting purposes:
    - Tyraxes - Joffrey's, Rhaenyra's youngest "Velaryon" son. Very young, just large enough to ride, too small for battle. Sent with Joffrey to the Vale.
    - Stormcloud - Aegon the Younger's, Rhaenyra's and Daemon's little son. Barely more than a hatchling, sent with the kids to the Vale currently.
Unclaimed previously ridden dragons residing on Dragonstone (and Driftmark in case of Seasmoke), so assets for the Blacks if riders are found for them since only the Blacks control Dragonstone:
    - Vermithor - Old King Jaehaerys's steed. Jaehaerys was the grandfather to Viserys and Daemon, the one we've seen in the very first scene of the show when the Great council chose his successor. Huge old bronze beast, almost a 100 years old. Second largest living dragon after Vhagar. Giant fearsome beast. Resides on Dragonmount.
    - Silverwing - late queen Alysanne's dragon, the wife to the Old King Jaehaerys. Splendid silvery dragon, almost a 100 years old. Very large and experienced, relatively docile and friendly. Resides on Dragonmount.
    - Seasmoke - Laenor's dragon. Young, but of a decent fighting size, quick and nimble. A sticky case at this point since Laenor's status is unknown in the show (in the book he is quite dead). However, as Rhaenyra pointed out, disquieted of late which might indicate Laenor's demise. If so, can be claimed anew.
Wild dragons living on Dragonstone, so potential assets for the Blacks:
    - Sheepstealer. A wild dragon living on Dragonmount. Old and large. Never claimed.
    - Cannibal. A wild dragon famous for killing and eating other dragons. Very old (possibly of age with the late Balerion), very large, extremely dangerous, never approached successfully by anyone.
    - Grey Ghost. A wild dragon, never approached, almost never seen, extremely elusive.

Some of us fans of Martin’s books weren’t thrilled with the changed detail of which dragon eggs are supposed to be the ones that eventually became Danearys’ eggs. It’s definitely a minor detail. But I have two reasons that I don’t like it. The first is because the story of what happened with some stolen dragon eggs at an earlier point in the Targaryen history is a very fun and interesting part of the book Fire and Blood. It wasn’t said definitively that the ones I’m talking about were Daenerys’ eggs, but Martin strongly hinted that they were. The second reason I don’t care for this idea is because House of the Dragon made a really big deal last year about how they developed a variety of different dragon breeds for the show and what the thought process was behind them. The eggs that were stolen in the book were supposed to be from the dragon Dreamfyre. And that dragon was created to look like the same type of dragon that Daenerys’ dragons were. These new eggs are supposed to be from Syrax, who looks nothing like Daenerys’ dragons. In the end, it’s not that big of a deal. But it felt like the show was making a change from the lore simply for fan service. And it definitely provided that. As someone who watches several reactors to the show, almost everyone who I watched immediately said, “I wonder if those are Dany’s eggs?” And the book nerd in me was saying, “No. Dany’s eggs are from Dreamfyre.”

    • @HouseoftheWerewolf
      @HouseoftheWerewolf หลายเดือนก่อน

As a book reader, I'm okay with Danny's eggs being from Syrax. It's not that deep and it doesn't break the lore. After all in the book, there aren't any real evidence that Danny's eggs are from Dreamfyre either. Danny's eggs are supposedly from Asshai and that It was implied that maybe the eggs are from Elissa Farman who stole Dreamfyre's eggs and fled to Asshai. So the book reader assume those eggs are those from Dreamfyre but never confirmed.

don't forget Alicent was a teenager unproperly loved and groomed to be a pawn by Otto. he is to blame for Aegon, not Alicent.

Right?! She had no mother growing up! So, she knows only what she lived through.

whats crazy to me is that this show can make us somewhat like aegon while completely hate criston cole but when looking at it objectively then aegon is by far the worse person😂

20:38 - 22:15 a group of men who usurped the throne from a woman and started a war to make Aegon king because they believe men are superior than women not wanting Alicent to rule should not be surprising

No matter how bad I also feel for aegon and sunfyre, Mind you NOT EVEN Maegor Targeryan the Cruel disrespected dragons like that. They are pride and strength of House Targeryan. Thats why all of the Team Green are nasty hightowers at the End of the day. Parading meleys head through kings landing damages the Targeryans reputation and risks angering the people. Dragons are crucial part of Targeryan power; disrespecting fallen dragons could lead to unrest in Kings Landing.
