Aegon survived because of his Valyrian steel armor The steel was molded by dragon fire.....it could possibly withstand it. Also the only reason Aegon isn't drowning in infections is because valyrian steel is sterile. The steel might be cooked into his skin but it saved him He's only gonna be excruciating pain now tho

So, for her to propose that she herself be made regent just goes against what she and her father have been complaining about Rhaenyra being a woman unfit to be heir; that only first-born sons can. And not to mention she's been complaining and focusing more on Rhaenyra, her "plain-featured" sons, and everything about Rhaenyra. She didn't put her time to focusing on her own children while hiding Aegon's personality, as an adult mom.

When they say "send a dragon for protection" they mean "send a dragon with their rider to protect us". They don't expect to be dragonriders themselves since it is the belief that only targerians can do that.
I think Damon's and Viserys' bastard brother is (1). The Smithy with the sick daughter could be (2) look at his hair, Corlys' bastard son Adam (Lenore's dragon intrigued him on the beach while he was searching for crabs), and Seasmoke needs a new rider so he would be (3). This way his Brother Alyn can be the heir of Driftmark because he has always been on the ships - Alyn is Salt and Sea. He saved Corlys from drowning. Not to mention anyone else who could be around. I think they just need to have Valeryion blood to ride a dragon.
Alicent isn’t pissed because she can’t manipulate Aemond, she’s scared of Aemond and she knows what he’s capable of and that he’s complicit in what happened to Aegon.

I’m with Bryce on Aegon. The guy was doomed from the second he was born, that naturally was going to make him one of the best characters on the show. You don’t have to think he’s a good person to enjoy him, similar to Viserys, Corlys and Daemon who when it comes to women are just as terrible as Aegon.

I think this is just a case of Joffrey Baratheon lowering the bar so far down into the abyss of what makes a likable/acceptable king that people look at Aegon be like "nahhhh he ain't so bad"
@@penoyer79 I don’t even think the two are comparable tbh outside of both being young when crowned. When it comes to ruling Aegon is a lot more like Robert Baratheon aka incompetent yet surrounded by competent advisors so not necessarily terrible for the people.
I wish people would stop acting like Aegon is the one character in this show you aren’t allowed to find interesting. It’s a world of INSANELY gray characters, GRRM is kind of known for exactly that. Almost everyone in this show has done things we’d find COMPLETELY unforgivable in real life and it’s still completely fine to like them because they are fictional. Daemon is a fan favorite and he killed one wife by beating her head in with a rock, not to mention a whole bunch of other shit. In GOT people typically grow to love Jamie Lannister and the Hound and look at all the shit they did. It’s okay to find bad people interesting in fiction!!! And in Westeros most people are selfish and kinda bad? Just how it is. (This isn’t directed at the boys, just a general observation)

I understand where Bryce is coming from only because the Aegon actor is so incredible but besides that I agree with Rob. Aegon assaults women and is not necessarily trying to be a good person in that scene where he's addressing the townsfolk concerns as opposed to displaying his incompetence. He did not know how to be king so he just said what he thought people wanted to hear so no, I still think he's horrible. The performance the actor is giving is probably top 3 in the show for me though.

This show and media in general I think are made so you can interact with all sides. The greens are horrible, but they’re an interesting group of characters. A dragon can have multiple riders in their lifetime but not at the same time while one rider still lives. Rhaena wouldn’t be able to ride a dragon that she has not claimed and that someone else has; it will only allow the rider they have bonded with to ride them.

Aegon wants attention so bad, from anyone really that is the reason he went to Rooks Rest, after his mother told him to do nothing and I think him wanting to give into the small folks demands shows his incompetence and also how he just want to be seen as a good king even though he really doesn't understand how the position works. He is basically an ignored kid who wants the smallest speck of attention. Even when he is obviously a bad person, the actor canake compelling scenes, like when he is crying for his son and when he calls for his mom this episode, but I think it is mainly that the actor is very charismatic and therefore makes you feel more positive towards aegon.
dragons only can have one rider at a time. they don't get another until the one they have dies. so yeah someone would have had to go to the vale with the dragon and they do not have enough dragon riders to leave one there.
Isnt daemon also a predator, abuser wife killer? Isnt viserys a pedo and rapist? people love them. Bryce looking for more complexity in Aegon isn’t a bad thing though, I don’t know why Rob doesn’t seem to get this. He literally loves Daemon who killed his first wife with a rock and physically abused Rhaenyra. So why can’t people find Aegon interesting? None of them are good people but it’s fiction and they are engaging to watch.
They technically need Valayrian blood, as there were many families that rode dragons in old Valyria, not just the Targaryens. I think the Targaryen’s were the only family to survived the doom of Valryia though? Could be wrong.
3 families survived - targaryens, velaryons and celtigars, but because the targaryens were the only ones who came with dragons to Westeros, they claimed "supremacy" over being dragon-riders, and that's how it continued down history. The Velaryons only got to have dragons + claim them because of Rhaenys' marriage to Corlys :) technically, there is a character in the books that could claim a dragon and was not valyrian, but idk if they'll pursue it
That's why they made Aegon a grapist on the show (show only btw), because if they didn't then he would be perceived as much a victim of his circumstances as Rhaenyra is, and we can't have that because the writers said they want the patriarchy to be the villain of the show. It is such a lazy way to assassinate a character. Rhaenyra is a woman, so they won't let her take the crown without a fight. Aegon is a man (first born) so they won't let him say no to the crown. Everything that has happened to him happened because of that damn throne through no fault of his own. It would have been a much more tragic and compelling story had the writers allowed for this to come through, but as it is, the audience only see Rhaenyra=good, Aegon=bad. No matter how much they try to humanize Aegon now, the audience cannot forgive a grapist, child abuser.
the greens weren't that great in the books either, I would say even worse than the show💀💀 Aegon was also a pure villain in the books, he didn't have layers to his characters like in the show for people to sympathize with him

Ulf the White was shown to smack the waitress that served him in ep.3, Bran remembers the feast that was held for King Robert at Winterfell had a lot of pinching and grabbing of the maids; this was, unfortunately, a common practice in the world of ASOIAF. Making the jump from groping servants to rape is quiet a leap.
I agree with you Bryce, aegon does want to do good but he’s never been taught on how to rule. I feel bad for him as in he never stood a chance in life with alicent as his mother and Otto as his grandfather.
ok sorry for this long comment but, im with bryce. aegon is very interesting and full of nuance. like u can’t rly say he’s a good person, even the “benevolent” things he’s done thusfar have been mainly in pursuit of his own comforts. he wants to please the small folk because they were the first to show him praise/admiration. he wants to teach his son because he felt neglected by his own father. on top of that, he is a rapist, a murderer, and a truly terrible brother. but also, like. that’s what happens when you have ur son grow up with insane amounts of privilege, zero guidance, and a great pressure to claim his sister’s inheritance despite him not having any interest in the job. how else was he going to turn out?? people dismissing aegon as a person because he rapes and murders are, i think, missing 2 things. 1 is the WHY, why does he do those things, why does he think they are okay, why does his need for love/affirmation overwhelm his capability to empathize with others. and 2 is can he be redeemed- which, i guess, is the trickier question for people in general. can a rapist/murderer/narcissist be redeemed? and if they can be, should they be allowed to? super fun interesting questions that should be applied to real life. if you compare aegon to someone like joffrey, i think it’s easier to see how joffrey was likely irredeemable. he had plenty of love from his parents and never doubted his place as heir, but he delighted in cruelty. aegon has not been shown to be cruel in the same ways. his cruelty is a side effect of his narcissistic need for love(or creature comforts), and his narcissistic need for love is a side effect of being deprived of love and attention growing up. i mean people are a product of their environment, their actions and behaviors are learned. so where did he learn to bully aemond as a kid? i think sometimes people take these questions and discussions as an excuse for the things he did. and it’s like. okay if somebody is saying that one should not face justice for rape and murder, they are being too unserious. but there is more to aegon’s character than the theoretical justice that murderers and rapists face. which also opens a can of worms discussion about what kind of justice is worthy of a crime like rape or murder? i mean some people will argue that if someone commits rape, the only acceptable justice is their death. and i don’t know that they’re wrong. but if they are, what would qualify as justice? and if they can be, should a rapist be allowed redemption? like, idk, personally as a survivor of rape, i think it’s boring and unproductive to shut the conversation down at “is he a good or bad person.” rapists don’t come from a vacuum- and understanding how they come to be can potentially help us, as a society, find solutions or ways to diminish the risk factors. TLDR aegon is a fascinating character study. it’s ridiculous to suggest he is an innocent or virtuous person, but that’s not what makes him interesting. whats interesting is why he is the way he is and the question of could he have, or still, turn out differently if treated differently from how he was raised.
i'm w bryce on this one, aegon's a certifiable dummy, but at his core the thing he vies for most is his mother's approval and affection. i wouldn't say he's a good person, but he's definitely not evil like everyone likes to write him off as. i stand w my failking

@@hali_55 You're certainly free to be team Aegon. I'm not. That's just me. We all have a line when it comes to characters we won't support, no matter what. In my case it happens to be Aegon. However, Tom Carney gives Aegon a certain nuanced depth and vulnerability that's amazing to watch. I would love to sort of be on his side or at least have sympathy for him. I just can't get past what he's done to the young maids in the Keep.

I feel like you guys understood what this episode was. It feels like people haven’t watched game of thrones, cause most of the episodes after a big episode were slower and recovering from previous events. Everyone called this episode boring and I’m like, what did you think it would be? Another big battle. That not how tv really ever has been organized
Showing Meleys dead is such a stupid move. And it's disrespectful. Real Targaryens would never do this. Maegor the cruel didn't when he killed his nephew and his dragon. It's funny how at this point the writers do with Daemon essentially the opposite of the book. He already had the army up and ready way before Rhaenys died late in the year the war started (7 to 8 months after Viserys died). In the book, Rhaenyra doesn't even preside over the council a lot. Jace runs it. She is grieving her children. No one cared about B&C, not the council, not the Lords. Rhaenyra herself lost two children first because of them. The show barely mentions she had a stillbirth due to the usurpation. Her only daughter, Visenya. Rhaenyra was obsessed with Queen Visenya. They give hints about it in the show but I liked how she glared at Jace when he said she shouldn't use Visenya as an example. That's her idol. Jace and Luke were squires, so while not as strong as Daemon or Criston, he wouldn't be useless in battle. They stole this trait from them. Back in the North, Jace also trained and hunted with Cregan Stark for a while. They became like brothers and swore a blood oath. The Pact of Ice and Fire. Daemon already had the Freys and most of the Riverlands on lock after he got Harrenhal. The Tully Lord wanted Aegon, but he was dying and his grandson Elmo (cut from the show) was waiting it out. His sons, Kermit and Oscar, were big Rhaenyra loyalists. The Blackwoods were there for him at the start too and they took Stone Hedge from the Brackens months prior to Rhaenys' death. This hallucination plot is dragging. The book actually implies Alys and Daemon barely interacted. They made the Brackens look good. No wonder GRRM is mad. They are one of his "always in the wrong" houses. George has posted in his blog that dragons are NOT nomadic. They only move from their home if the rider does. This is one of the problems with changing the age. In the book, Rhaena and Joffrey go to the Vale. Joffrey is 12, so he has a dragon. Not a fully adult one, but big enough to protect. Here he is 6 and Aegon (who doesn't go to the Vale in the book, and this is important for later) is 4. Their dragons came with them. But even then, a 6yo dragon might not be huge but it's still a dragon. It can breathe fire. Remember the kids going to their dragons at the pit in s1? Vhagar had three riders before Aemond. Queen Visenya, Baelon the Brave (Daemon's father) and Laena. Dragons can have multiple riders in a lifetime (not at once), but they only move if the rider does. Otherwise they stay within Dragonstone or the Dragonpit, never venturing by themselves. The Dance is Viserys' fault. He knew Otto and Alicent wanted Aegon on the throne, and he still brought Otto back as Hand instead of making Rhaenyra his hand, because he didn't want to upset Alicent (theirs was a love marriage in the book). Also, Rhaenyra was not a warrior most likely by choice. Queen Visenya was a warrior and Alyssa Targaryen, Daemon's mom, knew how to fight with a sword. Rhaenyra was known to be an it girl princess. Beautiful and also dripping in silk, lace, and gems. Meal's lady is Elinda Massey. Rhaenyra's lady-in-waiting. Nobility herself. How does she know Aegon's rape victim considering she lived in Dragonstone for the last 6 years and Dyanna is 15? Who knows. Egg is the nickname of Aegon V only, due to his bald head. But Cooked Egg does applied to Aegon, although burned would be more accurate. How did Aegon survive? Plot armor. What he somehow become. Not somehow, dear. You did that. You made them hate their nephews. You allowed Aegon to bully Aemond as long as it wasn't in public. You said they were more important than Rhaenyra and she would kill them. It's your fault too. You created these monsters. And that includes Criston. Y'all are on the right track with the theory at the end. There have been two other characters shown with the same foreshadowing so far, try to remember. As for "those of our line who never ruled". They don't exist. Targaryens married Targaryens or Velaryons. The only examples outside of it so far: Rhaenyra's mom Queen Aemma Arryn, only daughter of Princess Daella Targaryen and Rodrik Arryn. She only had Rhaenyra. Dead end. Velaryons. They are implied to have Targaryen blood, considering the conquerors' mother, Valaena Velaryon, was the daughter of a Velaryon with a Targaryen mother. Baratheons. They come from Orys Baratheon, bastard brother of Aegon the conqueror, and Boremund Baratheon was also the son of Alyssa Velaryon. But Borros sided with Aegon. Daenys the dreamer had a daughter who married a petty lord. Bastards. Most Targaryen girls married back into the family and weren't married off to other houses outside the Valyrians, most likely because they didn't want the chance of other houses being able to claim dragons. Which is why Aemma married back into the Targaryens.
They are wasting Daemon this season, most likely because the writers didn't like he was a fan favorite. In truth, he's George's favorite historical Targaryen, because while he is grey and unpredictable, his loyalty to his family and the Targaryen dynasty is unquestioned. The real Daemon never planned to take the throne from Rhaenyra, he got the Riverlands for her very quickly, even before Rhaenys died. He was in Harrenhal already when Luke died, he didn't go because they fought, and Mysaria was the one who found Blood and Cheese at his request for a "son for a son" (never a mistake, he wanted to kill an heir of the usurper just as Aemond killed Rhaenyra's heir, Helaena was made to choose between her two sons). Nobody outside the greens gave a damn about what happened. If Rhaenyra had a problem with it, she got over real quick considering she was grieving her own children. Aemond was called kinslayer, not her. He murdered his nephew, a peace envoy, breaking guest law, while they were still negotiating terms. He was marked by it. It's his alias throughout the story. Aemond the kinslayer. Nobody liked him. Rhaenyra never sued for peace either. She said from the start: "Tell my half-brother I will have my throne or I will have his head." She said she would spare her half-siblings if they bend the knee, but that was wall, and over once her child was murdered. And it definitely wasn't an accident. Aemond followed Luke (who was unable to get away only because of the rain, as Arrax was faster than Vhagar), wanting revenge. There's a rumor he went after him because Maris Baratheon said she was glad he chose her sister because he was a coward, and Luke must have taken his balls, not only his eye. Aemond is a pathetic incel loser like his mentor, only works for himself and em prol of his obsessions: Lucerys, Rhaenyra, Daemon. As for Daemon and Alys: "Whatever her powers, it would seem Daemon Targaryen was immune to them, for little is heard of this supposed sorceress whilst the prince held Harrenhal." What was funny about that unnecessary scene with his mother was Alyssa Targaryen not only did not have silver hair (she had dirty blond and mismatched purple/green eyes, a distinctive look), but Daemon essentially never knew her. She died when he was 3. The show can't decide if he knew her or not. He had no idea who the woman was until she called him a son, to which he reacted with disgust. Alys said he never knew his mother (and how can't he tell it was Alys who planted the hallucination in his mind is another funny thing, she always mentions the things he "dreams" about). But in season 1, Viserys said Daemon was always their mother's favorite because he was a warrior. Again, he was 3 when she died.
nah i think Rob got is really wrong if he thinks rhaneyra has been wanting to go to battle. She has been dreading and doing things to prevent a battle coz she knows tht will mean the fall of dragons, shes been fighting her council, jace, Daemon for it coz she knows its imp to secure the house of dragons lineage for the prophecy, thts why she went to kings landing to talk to Alicent even at the risk of her own life, to see if the war is preventable, thts why she saved the dragon eggs(danerys'). tht is the stark difference between Rhaneyra and Aegon actually, Aegon is the one whos been wanting war without any thought. Rhenys happened to be the only one who was on her side on the matter, but after returning from kings landing she's known its inevitable.
What's worse, Bones and All or Aegon's bedridden scenes? Eating, or peeling burnt oozing flesh out of charred metal armor? Possibly nothing is worse than Sully face down in his undies 😆
I am team Rhaenyra all the way. I think her son, Jace, and Baela make a great team and for their ages are pretty smart. The plot with Daemon, however, is making this whole show cringe for me. I don't understand how this plot is doing anything for the storyline other than screwing it all up for the one person I like on the show.
Nearly felt bad for the flame grilled usurper then they showed Dyanna who was assaulted by him and now has to work in that tavern assaulted by other randos and I wish Aemond finished the job. I think Damon's and Viserys' bastard brother is (1). This way his Brother Alyn can be the heir of Driftmark because he has always been on the ships - Alyn is Salt and Sea. He saved Corlys from drowning. Not to mention anyone else who could be around. I think they just need to have Valeryion blood to ride a dragon.

I’m with Bryce on Aegon. The guy was doomed from the second he was born, that naturally was going to make him one of the best characters on the show. You don’t have to think he’s a good person to enjoy him, similar to Viserys, Corlys and Daemon who when it comes to women are just as terrible as Aegon.

Daemon is a fan favorite and he killed one wife by beating her head in with a rock, not to mention a whole bunch of other shit. Aegon wants attention so bad, from anyone really that is the reason he went to Rooks Rest, after his mother told him to do nothing and I think him wanting to give into the small folks demands shows his incompetence and also how he just want to be seen as a good king even though he really doesn't understand how the position works. He is basically an ignored kid who wants the smallest speck of attention. Even when he is obviously a bad person, the actor canake compelling scenes, like when he is crying for his son and when he calls for his mom this episode, but I think it is mainly that the actor is very charismatic and therefore makes you feel more positive towards aegon.

They technically need Valayrian blood, as there were many families that rode dragons in old Valyria, not just the Targaryens. I think the Targaryen’s were the only family to survived the doom of Valryia though? Could be wrong.
3 families survived - targaryens, velaryons and celtigars, but because the targaryens were the only ones who came with dragons to Westeros, they claimed "supremacy" over being dragon-riders, and that's how it continued down history. The Velaryons only got to have dragons + claim them because of Rhaenys' marriage to Corlys :) technically, there is a character in the books that could claim a dragon and was not valyrian, but idk if they'll pursue it

That's why they made Aegon a grapist on the show (show only btw), because if they didn't then he would be perceived as much a victim of his circumstances as Rhaenyra is, and we can't have that because the writers said they want the patriarchy to be the villain of the show. It is such a lazy way to assassinate a character.
Rhaenyra is a woman, so they won't let her take the crown without a fight. Aegon is a man (first born) so they won't let him say no to the crown. Everything that has happened to him happened because of that damn throne through no fault of his own. It would have been a much more tragic and compelling story had the writers allowed for this to come through, but as it is, the audience only see Rhaenyra=good, Aegon=bad. No matter how much they try to humanize Aegon now, the audience cannot forgive a grapist, child abuser.
the greens weren't that great in the books either, I would say even worse than the show💀💀 Aegon was also a pure villain in the books, he didn't have layers to his characters like in the show for people to sympathize with him

Making the jump from groping servants to rape is quiet a leap.

on top of that, he is a rapist, a murderer, and a truly terrible brother.

people dismissing aegon as a person because he rapes and murders are, i think, missing 2 things. 1 is the WHY, why does he do those things, why does he think they are okay, why does his need for love/affirmation overwhelm his capability to empathize with others. and 2 is can he be redeemed- which, i guess, is the trickier question for people in general. can a rapist/murderer/narcissist be redeemed? and if they can be, should they be allowed to?

if you compare aegon to someone like joffrey, i think it’s easier to see how joffrey was likely irredeemable. he had plenty of love from his parents and never doubted his place as heir, but he delighted in cruelty. aegon has not been shown to be cruel in the same ways. his cruelty is a side effect of his narcissistic need for love(or creature comforts), and his narcissistic need for love is a side effect of being deprived of love and attention growing up.
i mean people are a product of their environment, their actions and behaviors are learned. so where did he learn to bully aemond as a kid?
i think sometimes people take these questions and discussions as an excuse for the things he did. and it’s like. okay if somebody is saying that one should not face justice for rape and murder, they are being too unserious. but there is more to aegon’s character than the theoretical justice that murderers and rapists face.
which also opens a can of worms discussion about what kind of justice is worthy of a crime like rape or murder?
i mean some people will argue that if someone commits rape, the only acceptable justice is their death. and i don’t know that they’re wrong. but if they are, what would qualify as justice? and if they can be, should a rapist be allowed redemption?
like, idk, personally as a survivor of rape, i think it’s boring and unproductive to shut the conversation down at “is he a good or bad person.” rapists don’t come from a vacuum- and understanding how they come to be can potentially help us, as a society, find solutions or ways to diminish the risk factors.
TLDR aegon is a fascinating character study. it’s ridiculous to suggest he is an innocent or virtuous person, but that’s not what makes him interesting. whats interesting is why he is the way he is and the question of could he have, or still, turn out differently if treated differently from how he was raised.

Showing Meleys dead is such a stupid move. And it's disrespectful. Real Targaryens would never do this. Maegor the cruel didn't when he killed his nephew and his dragon.
It's funny how at this point the writers do with Daemon essentially the opposite of the book. He already had the army up and ready way before Rhaenys died late in the year the war started (7 to 8 months after Viserys died).
In the book, Rhaenyra doesn't even preside over the council a lot. Jace runs it. She is grieving her children. No one cared about B&C, not the council, not the Lords. Rhaenyra herself lost two children first because of them.
The show barely mentions she had a stillbirth due to the usurpation. Her only daughter, Visenya. Rhaenyra was obsessed with Queen Visenya. They give hints about it in the show but I liked how she glared at Jace when he said she shouldn't use Visenya as an example. That's her idol.
Jace and Luke were squires, so while not as strong as Daemon or Criston, he wouldn't be useless in battle. They stole this trait from them. Back in the North, Jace also trained and hunted with Cregan Stark for a while. They became like brothers and swore a blood oath. The Pact of Ice and Fire.
Daemon already had the Freys and most of the Riverlands on lock after he got Harrenhal. The Tully Lord wanted Aegon, but he was dying and his grandson Elmo (cut from the show) was waiting it out. His sons, Kermit and Oscar, were big Rhaenyra loyalists. The Blackwoods were there for him at the start too and they took Stone Hedge from the Brackens months prior to Rhaenys' death. This hallucination plot is dragging. The book actually implies Alys and Daemon barely interacted.
They made the Brackens look good. No wonder GRRM is mad. They are one of his "always in the wrong" houses.
George has posted in his blog that dragons are NOT nomadic. They only move from their home if the rider does. This is one of the problems with changing the age. In the book, Rhaena and Joffrey go to the Vale. Joffrey is 12, so he has a dragon. Not a fully adult one, but big enough to protect. Here he is 6 and Aegon (who doesn't go to the Vale in the book, and this is important for later) is 4. Their dragons came with them. But even then, a 6yo dragon might not be huge but it's still a dragon. It can breathe fire. Remember the kids going to their dragons at the pit in s1?
Vhagar had three riders before Aemond. Queen Visenya, Baelon the Brave (Daemon's father) and Laena. Dragons can have multiple riders in a lifetime (not at once), but they only move if the rider does. Otherwise they stay within Dragonstone or the Dragonpit, never venturing by themselves.
The Dance is Viserys' fault. He knew Otto and Alicent wanted Aegon on the throne, and he still brought Otto back as Hand instead of making Rhaenyra his hand, because he didn't want to upset Alicent (theirs was a love marriage in the book). Also, Rhaenyra was not a warrior most likely by choice. Queen Visenya was a warrior and Alyssa Targaryen, Daemon's mom, knew how to fight with a sword. Rhaenyra was known to be an it girl princess. Beautiful and also dripping in silk, lace, and gems.
Meal's lady is Elinda Massey. Rhaenyra's lady-in-waiting. Nobility herself. How does she know Aegon's rape victim considering she lived in Dragonstone for the last 6 years and Dyanna is 15? Who knows.
Egg is the nickname of Aegon V only, due to his bald head. But Cooked Egg does applied to Aegon, although burned would be more accurate.
How did Aegon survive? Plot armor.
What he somehow become. Not somehow, dear. You did that. You made them hate their nephews. You allowed Aegon to bully Aemond as long as it wasn't in public. You said they were more important than Rhaenyra and she would kill them. It's your fault too. You created these monsters. And that includes Criston.
Y'all are on the right track with the theory at the end. There have been two other characters shown with the same foreshadowing so far, try to remember. As for "those of our line who never ruled". They don't exist. Targaryens married Targaryens or Velaryons. The only examples outside of it so far:
Rhaenyra's mom Queen Aemma Arryn, only daughter of Princess Daella Targaryen and Rodrik Arryn. She only had Rhaenyra. Dead end.
Velaryons. They are implied to have Targaryen blood, considering the conquerors' mother, Valaena Velaryon, was the daughter of a Velaryon with a Targaryen mother.
Baratheons. They come from Orys Baratheon, bastard brother of Aegon the conqueror, and Boremund Baratheon was also the son of Alyssa Velaryon. But Borros sided with Aegon.
Daenys the dreamer had a daughter who married a petty lord.
Bastards.
Most Targaryen girls married back into the family and weren't married off to other houses outside the Valyrians, most likely because they didn't want the chance of other houses being able to claim dragons. Which is why Aemma married back into the Targaryens.
They are wasting Daemon this season, most likely because the writers didn't like he was a fan favorite. In truth, he's George's favorite historical Targaryen, because while he is grey and unpredictable, his loyalty to his family and the Targaryen dynasty is unquestioned.
The real Daemon never planned to take the throne from Rhaenyra, he got the Riverlands for her very quickly, even before Rhaenys died. He was in Harrenhal already when Luke died, he didn't go because they fought, and Mysaria was the one who found Blood and Cheese at his request for a "son for a son" (never a mistake, he wanted to kill an heir of the usurper just as Aemond killed Rhaenyra's heir, Helaena was made to choose between her two sons). Nobody outside the greens gave a damn about what happened. If Rhaenyra had a problem with it, she got over real quick considering she was grieving her own children. Aemond was called kinslayer, not her. He murdered his nephew, a peace envoy, breaking guest law, while they were still negotiating terms. He was marked by it. It's his alias throughout the story. Aemond the kinslayer. Nobody liked him. Rhaenyra never sued for peace either. She said from the start: "Tell my half-brother I will have my throne or I will have his head." She said she would spare her half-siblings if they bend the knee, but that was wall, and over once her child was murdered. And it definitely wasn't an accident. Aemond followed Luke (who was unable to get away only because of the rain, as Arrax was faster than Vhagar), wanting revenge. There's a rumor he went after him because Maris Baratheon said she was glad he chose her sister because he was a coward, and Luke must have taken his balls, not only his eye. Aemond is a pathetic incel loser like his mentor, only works for himself and em prol of his obsessions: Lucerys, Rhaenyra, Daemon.
As for Daemon and Alys: "Whatever her powers, it would seem Daemon Targaryen was immune to them, for little is heard of this supposed sorceress whilst the prince held Harrenhal."
What was funny about that unnecessary scene with his mother was Alyssa Targaryen not only did not have silver hair (she had dirty blond and mismatched purple/green eyes, a distinctive look), but Daemon essentially never knew her. She died when he was 3. The show can't decide if he knew her or not. He had no idea who the woman was until she called him a son, to which he reacted with disgust. Alys said he never knew his mother (and how can't he tell it was Alys who planted the hallucination in his mind is another funny thing, she always mentions the things he "dreams" about). But in season 1, Viserys said Daemon was always their mother's favorite because he was a warrior. Again, he was 3 when she died.
The fact that Alyssa Targaryen is the one in his hallucinations is so nasty. His own mother. Alys Rivers is a crazy woman

nah i think Rob got is really wrong if he thinks rhaneyra has been wanting to go to battle. She has been dreading and doing things to prevent a battle coz she knows tht will mean the fall of dragons, shes been fighting her council, jace, Daemon for it coz she knows its imp to secure the house of dragons lineage for the prophecy, thts why she went to kings landing to talk to Alicent even at the risk of her own life, to see if the war is preventable, thts why she saved the dragon eggs(danerys'). tht is the stark difference between Rhaneyra and Aegon actually, Aegon is the one whos been wanting war without any thought. Rhenys happened to be the only one who was on her side on the matter, but after returning from kings landing she's known its inevitable.

I am team Rhaenyra all the way. I think her son, Jace, and Baela make a great team and for their ages are pretty smart. The plot with Daemon, however, is making this whole show cringe for me. I don't understand how this plot is doing anything for the storyline other than screwing it all up for the one person I like on the show.
