An anchor, let's get this straight, doesn't pull a ship beneath the waves. No, it's the thing that keeps that ship damn steady, resolute in the face of the roaring tides. Imagine a ship without an anchor - aimlessly wandering, lost, and getting tossed against the rocks in a storm.
Mk truly does love and need Wukong, even if Wukong himself doesn't consciously realize it.
He's not a weight, but the thing that holds them steady amidst the swells. Just as an anchor doesn't merely weigh a ship down, but offers stability and direction
