  • The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of our nation's greatest wilderness icons. For decades, millions of Americans have fought to keep the Coastal Plain of the Arctic Refuge out of the hands of the oil industry. Today, the fight continues to protect a place that naturalist and write Terry Tempest Williams calls "a great breathing space on the planet, a pause of peace in a world too familiar with war." Williams is joined by voices from the Gwich'in Nation, who regard the Coastal Plain as "the sacred place where life begins." As the calving and nursing grounds for the Porcupine Caribou Herd and host to more than 250 species of wildlife, the Arctic Refuge truly is an irreplaceable piece of our natural heritage that must be protected for generations to come.

This video really does deserve more views. I think the more people see this, the better for us all.

the Audubon Society, one of many environmental
groups opposed to drilling in ANWR. “Oil and birds don’t mix,” says the group on its website. “Drilling is a dirty and dangerous business that has historically always resulted in spills and harmed the environment.” Yet consider how the Audubon Society manages some of its own privately owned wildlife refuges. For nearly 50 years, starting in the 1950s, the group allowed oil and gas companies to drill dozens of wells on its 26,000-acre Paul J. Rainey Sanctuary, a bird sanctuary in southwestern Louisiana.

This video was actually really helpful - why do people even try to drill in ANWR? It's such a losing game to vote for drilling if Peak production is less than 4% - why not just focus on renewable energy?

Share this with everybody!! Share it on every social media you have!! Share it at the water cooler, your book club, your bridge games, when you meet for dinner...Every single American that has a soul needs to stop saying "what a shame" or thinking " what can I do" ?? Has everyone forgotten WE ARE THE PEOPLE!!? WE ARE THE ONES WITH THE POWER?? If we start acting like WE THE PEOPLE & stop being led around like a bunch of sheep there will be NOTHING "WE " can't do! It's time we take back our country, PAST TIME! There is no reason for destroying the ANWR ...not one inch of it. Other than staying in the easier way of providing energy..(oil)...instead of moving into the future...and so the rich can continue to grease each other palms and believe they are the people. This has to stop!! SAVE THIS COUNTRY...OUR PEOPLE...OUR LANDS...START SAYING AND DOING SOMETHING TO TELL OUR GOVERNMENT THAT WE ARE IN CHARGE AGAIN!! WE THE PEOPLE....WE SAY NO!!!!!

We have the untouched wilderness in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.......Well, we used to! Seems oil mongers get to fill it with roads, oil rigs, generators and structures now. What a shame!!
