In a way, I'm surprised there have never been any Psychonauts comics. The games themselves utilise 2D artwork for figments, memory vaults, etc. so it could've worked quite well in a comic series. Some sort of backstories for all the kids, stuff like that.
I agree, but I also wonder why an animated series based on Psychonauts hasn't been made already. The games themselves reminded me of "Invader ZIM" with it's bizarre character designs, and Richard Steven Horvitz voicing the main character. We would all watch "Psychonauts: The Animated Series", be it on Netflix, or Nickelodeon.
I find it cool that clairvoyance shows their trauma or the way they see the world. I first played Psychonauts2 instead of the others and seeing Clairvoyance being so consistent is nice. I love it. It really shows the true character of the character
If it helps at all, the Game Informer cover story did also state that the rescue of Truman was originally going to be skipped. And while there are still a few outdated things in the magazine (ex. the intern Adam's old name and design is used instead of his updated name and design), I think I've heard it in an interview? But wouldn't remember which one. Regarding the video, glad to see you enjoyed this one, and that you actually got to experience it!
Ah yeah, now you mention it that may have been where I saw it! Well.. More like I recall seeing the cover story advertised on Twitter, but I never bought the magazine/went on thier website so not to spoil too much. I think they were showing a new ability that I figured I'd leave for when I play it. And thanks! I think it was worth the sale price I paid for It. Officially ready for the second one now!
I do recall watching an interview with Tim Schafer where he said Psychonauts 2 would've skipped the rescue of Truman no matter what. Might just be the Mandela Effect. But that info seems legit to me.
Yeah, that's probably the case. I guess it just seemed odd to me, as a more recent player of the first game. Fun to theorise sometimes though, but I'm glad we got to see it in the end, even in this form!
@@Petronious Double Fine did actually do a mini-documentary about Psychonauts 1 and Rhombus of Ruin on their YT channel. The rhombus of ruin documentary mentions this fact if I recall correctly.
So I disagree with your statement on dr loboto’s intentions on blowing up the facility, he didn’t do it to kill the psychonauts, he did it because of what he was doing there, he was trying to make things right after his moral compass was restored, he probably thought that blowing up the former psychonauts facility would show that he’s different now, he did mutate fish into mindless slaves after all, he even told all the Guards and the gang that their free to go, he’s not inherently evil anymore he’s just more eccentric now, still has a long way to go.
Aren’t the Galochio family who cursed the Aquato’s, dead though? It’s what it says on one of the posters in the meat circus. After entering the caravan at the beginning of the level, you walk through a hallway blocked by a couple of cobwebs. On the wall, you can find posters of various acts, including the Aquato’s and the Galochio’s. Each poster says whether the performers depicted are alive or dead. It just so happens that the Galochio’s poster claims that they are dead… Of course, this could simply be the case because Raz believes they are.
I'd like to! I've had a copy of it here for a while and it looks interesting, but unable to play it due to my OG Xbox being broken... Thankfully that recent re-release happened, though!
@@Petronious How good since it's one of my favorite games I had on the Xbox I played it so many times that the day they released again on Steam I ended up completing 100% with all the achievements.

@@Mine18x Yeah, annoyingly I found that video after I made these two psychonauts videos 😅
Great vid as always! Can’t believe we’ll finally get to see what “Double-Fine” has been cooking all this time later this year!

There’s more Psychonauts than I thought!
Game on Bloke
Always love your intros 🥰
Thanks, I like making them!
Is it bad that I didn't even know this existed? XD but hey, definitely a nice video to watch before the big sequel finally comes out!
You should be ashamed of yourself 😔
The main villain of Psychonauts 2 seems to be the guy who cursed Raz's family to die in water. Just my speculation.

I get motion sickness from watching this. So weird....
On the plus side, I've no other VR games on my video to-do lost for the time being!
