Simply amazed. Very good to see the POWERBI tool being used for environmental preservation. Thank you Alice. Icon Maps got a lot easier after your tutorial.
What would be the Dax formula for only one Icon symbol, and the rest to remain as bubble dots? , the swith formula demands 3 symbols, i just one to place one .thank you
I dont understand why PowerBI automatically summarizes the Lat and Long values (though I have mentioned it not to summarize and had specified the values in the tables as Lat and Long data types) Anyone else facing similar issues ?
Best thing to do just after loading your tables to the data model is to open Tabular Editor (previously installed and located in the External Tools tab in Power BI) click on "Model" and in the right bottom panel set "Discourage Implicit Measures" to True.
This is actually a table visual bringing in an svg which is dynamically rendered based on the data. You may find Laura Graham-Brown's blog post here helpful for this: hatfullofdata.blog/svg-in-power-bi-part-3/
icon map is very good. it would be amazing if you could apply rules to a custom json choropleth shape, AND have circle with gradient and rules on same map. that seems to be a unicorn missing feature in PBI. 😞
You can tell power bi to treat them like lats and longs. There's a drop down menu somewhere at the top of the screen that appears after you click on them in the far right panel.

Great detailed video, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot from a fellow Gippslander.

As soon as i paste the url into object image section, the dots disappeared and not icon is shown. Any idea what causes this?
Great stuff, whats the possibility of having combining lat and long along with polygons?
Hi, nice video. how about the highlight a part of sentence as the right-hand side?. which visual did you apply for it?
Hi. Which visual did you use for water dropbon the right hand side?

I really wanted to use Iconmaps, but I battled with the UK maps I downloaded
Hi, for some reason my icon map is not showing correctly the locations, my lat and long are being "counted", do you know why?
I have the same problem

Could you possibly make the Measure Code a bit clearer?
