Great update, and awesome QL donations. Loved all of your content this year, I have no idea how on earth you fit it all in! Take time for yourself, have a very Merry Christmas and a More Fun Making It New Year! 🎉
i have a QL and replaced MD 1 with an internal V drive to save having to refelt those pesky wafers i also have some rubbers for the MD drive as mine were worn out i can send you a pack of five as i ordered a LOT from aliexpress as they were so cheap you have to drill them to get a good fit something that's not hard and they help make the drives work its a great machine and i am learning more every day good luck with that
you do what you need to Lee, we all appreciate the content you put out. am starting a C64 i picked up from ebay a month ago or so and am on the fence as to if I am going to film it and put it up myself . still deciding, but Merry Christmas to you and yours , stay safe and we will all see you in the New Year
Hi Lee. Sorry I couldn't make the Cambridge meet this year - I'm a carer too and couldn't get away 😔. I, too, find peace in my man cave upstairs and hobby shed in the garden so can completely understand your need for a space to decompress. You do so much for charity, which is laudable 👏, but you need to take care of yourself and not take too much on. If you go under you will be no use to yourself, your family or anyone else. I know it is difficult but sometimes you just have to say sorry, no, I don't have the spare capacity. On a lighter note, it was great to see the QL's. I had one back in the day when I was at University when they were effectively discontinued and Dixons dropped their price from £400 to £200. I loved (and still love) that era of Motorola processors and had a Dragon 32 and Dragon 64 previously. The QL was the cheapest 68K based machine and the only one I could afford as a student. It was a great machine as is was not too complex to understand and program. My next was a 520ST, followed by a Falcon 030 which, as I told you at the Dragon meet last year I threw in a skip many years ago! 😭 Have a good Christmas and New Year and pace yourself in 2025 👍
CRG has been extremely generous there. The Tetroid SGC clones are now like gold dust as he lives in Siberia and hence he can't export them any more. Definitely worth far more than a black box QL.(known as a BBQL). Oh and the "audio cable" in the box is actually the network cable to connect to another QL or a ZX Spectrum with an Interface 1.
