That's crazy. It sounds like it does the single coil thing better than a real single coil. The clarity, articulation, and metal-wires-on-wood quality are wonderful.
Thank you, you're absolutely right. Most others seem to shy away from showing what they actually sound like. And judging by your examples, the narrow alumitones sound waaaaaay better then those fatter humbucker replacements that are heard in almost 100% of other videos
Great video. Not much info out there on these pups, and especially featuring other than all out gain. Great playing. I'm in the process of putting together parts for a new partscaster build. I have a set of Lace Sensor Golds in a mid 90's Strat, and looking for something a smidge different. These just might do
Thanks a lot. You're right, that would be more 'scientific'. I just played and enjoyed the sounds, recorded and post a summary. In the next months i'll try to do as you suggest. Cheers from Rome
Hi , thanks for your help , iv final got one and iam new to soldering , when wiring without a volume pot and just soldering to guitar input can you tell me ,, the orange goes to the guitar input ,, where would I put the green and the white/black strip ground wires too , thanks again. Sorry I’m new to wiring and soldering.
Hey thank you and I owe you a big apology for being so late, I just forgot to answer. I am not even new to soldering, I brought my guitar to a luthier and he did the job. So I can't help you, sorry.
Not so close, 0,5 cm or slightly more. Anyway you can adjust the height. I had to lower the humbucker to level the output. So the overall output of the guitar is weacker than before the mod. I'm pretty happy with the choice i made, no more buzz as it was with the former original yamaha single coil pups.
Hey, thank you for the comment. Well all the installation was made by a luthier. He had to enlarge a bit the holes of the pickguard because the alumitone are slightly larger than the normal single coil.
Hey as you're the only video I can find currently showing these pups off, I was wondering if you could tell me how you think they stack up against fender Tex mex? And do you get any feedback hum through these like you would do a traditional single coil?
Well i have never tried tex mex. All i can tell u is that the price is quite different as you may have noticed. I'm pretty satisfied with the tones i get with these pups, the only hum i hear comes out in heavy distortion settings (as you can notice in the video). One thing that surprised me is that unlike the info i found on the web, the output is not higher than a standard single coil. Neway i'll make a new video focused on each position. Hope this was of some help. Thanx
@@GianlucaAlessi that's interesting. That stuff about them being much louder than other pickups came from Lace themselves back when they came out. They adviced strongly against pairing them with any normal pickups because of that volume difference. I think Lace shot themselves in the foot at every turn of their marketing campaign. They simply didn't know what to do with them.

You're right, it's a wonder and It still surprises me.

Great , probably the best alumitone review on a start at this time
Would be great to have another video with each pup without the song / background
Nice playing reminds me of knofler
Thank you
Wow, those sound so good

Love it. How close to the strings are the neck and middle? Thank you!!

Nice sounding. I plan to change my strandberg to full alumitone hss. how did you put the single coil alumitone on the pickguard?

@@GianlucaAlessi awesome. Im excited. They really sound clear
A drive is not for them imho. A crunch as a maximum. But a clean tone sounds emeizin )
What amp are you using?
It's not an amp, it's a 'vintage' modeler...line 6 pod.

The strangest sounding pickups in the world.
well they sound pretty straight to me, very close to classic strat sounds indeed. But they look and are strange, no doubt.
@@GianlucaAlessiI think that’s why lace says they’re unique
When making demos, please turn off effects.
