  • The box says *Get REAL*. It also says *Load Transfer Special*. Welcome to the 2nd flavour of the Yokomo Super Drift 1.0. I'm surprised they didn;t call it the 1.2 or 1.35 to be honest. Anyways there are a few differences between the standard SD 1.0 and this SD 1.0 LTS version. I explain the differences before opening the box but I did see some other changes in areas I didn't expect but it's good news. There are some changes where I am skeptical about right now but if this Load Transfer Special flavour is spicy out of the box then expect gratuitous driving clips :D Well I mean expect it anyways and comparisons too! Also this is the first video in a new temporary location while my new location is prepared :D As I type this I am on bag #6 of the building process :D Enjoy the video!

Yiss looks interesting and seems this could become a new common thing we see from more production kits

Can you check if different bodies have any issue with the high battery or motor

Yissss, after I finished building the car I was thinking the same thing, which body to run in the shakedown video and would i need a van or SUV or hatchback body instead of a car LOL

Have a question about these high mount chassis vs ones that focus on keeping everything as low as possible. Would you say these differences are mainly for drive styles or drive surfaces? Or combination of both? So far I have only driven high motor mounts on ptile and wondering if I should experiment with buidling something where everything is as low as possible on the same surface.

From my view it seems to be a mixture of both. I'm at the point where I can drive any configuration but I still prefer some chassis types on certain surfaces. Some chassis only work well on some surfaces. Some drivers can maximize certain chassis types to the fullest while others like to have variety of styles to choose from on track days. You will for sure notice a difference in car response and feel however sometimes its amazing how similar low CG and high CG cars can be in terms of the way they talk to you while drifting. Placement of the electronics in terms of where the weight lives on the cars will also dictate how the cars feel regardless of being low CG or high CG designed (example: motors in high CG cars work better at being mounted high in rear vs front end of the car...D-Like RE-R is high CG but motor is in front end behind the front axle...even though the battery mounts high on that car as well there is just too much weight up front however side to side action is wicked hehe) Experimenting is always fun tho :D
