both Pat and Sam come thru in the documentary as utterly decent human beings at their core. Truly empathetic and thoughtful dudes and I'm happy that after a life of shit their beginning to get a bit of shine. Sam seems like such a genuinely good dude and it's probably because he knows what it's like to be at the bottom of society and ignored.
Boy were you fooled.
Appreciate the fuck outta you boys! We’re all huge fans of the podcast and it was an honor and pleasure to be on the show! Super fun!! 💯🙏❤🥳🥰🤘@stavvybaby2 @eldissula
Dude what you pulled off is a national treasure documenting the insanity that was CDG …bravo getting this to HBO 👏🏼

The first 50 minutes of this pod are the best ad for any documentary I've ever seen. I have to organize a watch party for this, it sounds crazy in the best possible way. Thanks for bringing it to my attention Stav, and thanks to the guests for creating it
My partner and I watched this docuseries and HOLY SHIT. The ending was wild too - they went to the highest possible tier of corruption and ended at a dead stop, nothing could be done. But at least now we all can know the truth ❤️🙏
Truth. You nailed.
The wildest thing about the doc was that Sam kept having Pat handle the big interviews. Sam is so much more composed and a way better speaker haha. But ya gotta love Pat.
forreal like when pat didn’t wanna get on the plane
Oh hell yes. That series is absolutely wonderful
Also I'm gay and I'm restoring my foreskin.
It was aight.
@@ARCoventryyeah honestly very amateurish
@@alphawollf5589 yeah right its almost like it was made by amateurs...
@@alphawollf5589 nah it was brilliant
this seems like the most perfectly suited guest for this podcast in history lmao
Wow, started this and had to stop half way through to watch the doc. Incredible work, boys. I used to film a ton in high school around 2003-2004 and sometimes find my old unedited footage and it always brings a smile to my face. So many outtakes and commentaries or notes for the next take. I can't imagine having a trove of footage that actually meant something to someone let alone expose something like this. Obviously the telemarketing companies themselves have been exposed already, but to understand the FOPs and PACs were in on it was mind-blowing to me. Especially the Texan who robbed their fund while also running the telemarketing getting the donations to begin with. Unreal. Looking back, I remember many high school friends in KC working for a telemarketer that was later shut down and I believe part of a nationwide mafia scheme, but also a friend in college who was on probation getting a job at a call center getting donations for the Missouri highway patrol, coincidentally the same group who arrested him to begin with. He'd tell stories about how sketchy it was, the people he worked with, the people who answered, etc. Thanks for the great work, boys, the doc answered questions about those instances I had never thought to ask. Wow.
I was hooked instantly on this documentary. So glad you got him on the podcast!
💞💞
CHRIS PASSIG IS AN EDITING GOD
Stav! Couldn’t agree with you more that The Telemarketers was an amazing series! Would love to see more episodes where you bring on creators whose work really resonated with you, it mixes up the tone of the show in a very good way!
Only 20 minutes in, but loving how Stavy is conducting this interview. Really bringing in the editor's perspective at the perfect times.
Starting my day with a lil Stavvy's World is da best 👌 Getting me through the workday since EP.1
LMFAO the fact that Eldis DIDN'T prepare just makes it SOOOOOO much better
May that man continue to underwhelm any input for humanity
Its ok to tell the guest to remember to speak into the mic!! Great episode stav!!
Elvis needs to step up and PRODUCE!
Omg yesssssss. And or just turn him up in post!?!?!!!? So many episodes I end up turning it up then turning it down depending on who's talking. This is exactly why podcasts wear headphones!!!!
Bro I came in not expecting much since I don't know the series. This is one of the wildest yet. Love it man!
This is a hell of an ad for this series. Never heard of it but I am 100% checking this out now
I was a telemarketer, this docu series hit home. It blows my mind how common it is
I love how Stavvy plays with his hair like the sexy seductress that he is.
Thank you for bringing them to the pod Stav. It clarifies so many things from the series. Such a unique story...
This won’t get as many views but this documentary was nuts! Great episode!
Watching now! Thanks for the tip, didn’t know what it was about but saw the title in Max.
We get excited to get the phone calls now and look for the stickers in traffic
Only checked out the series cause of Aesop Rock but was pleasantly suprised by how good it was. Great ep
Me too man! Saw him post the trailer on his story and once I heard El P on the intro I knew I was gonna love it
That’s sick I’m def gonna check it out now!
Sam’s backstory makes so much sense. I was so confused about him dropping out of school at 14 and the family dynamic when I was watching the doc
advertising gambling during an episode about unethical sales practices is great
I love telemarketers! so cool to have sam on
I never would’ve known about this doc without this podcast. Fantastic work fellas. Thank you.
Lovin' the longer pod Stavvy. Hell yeah.
This doc was good. Crazy you got them on the show. Awesome idea.
Damn dude I was fresh out of a 3+ year bit in Illinois and totally started working for a sketchy telemarketing company in Chicagoland selling radio PSA's; It doesn't shock me that they crookedly redirect a majority of funds. The only reason I left is that I was selling ads like crazy but they were not paying me my commission. Can't wait to watch the documentary.
Holy shit what a fire start to the week. An absolute heater.
Telemarketing sucks. I used to get cursed out on almost all my calls. The only good thing about that job was being able to call in or leave my shift whenever i wanted.
This guy has such an amazing story, definitely gonna go check out the show
those nike's on sam are fresh af
I'm so happy you had them on I watched all 3 episodes and wanted so much more when it was over.
Damn I actually had to stop this pod and go watch the show. Slaps.
😮 OMG…I JUST received a call that sounded almost EXACTLY like it did in this doc! I live in RI and couldn’t believe my ears! THEY ARE STILL AT IT! 🤬 I’ll try to get the word out!
Robocall 😅. I get them too
I'm glad you got these guys on, I probably never would have watched the show if you didn't. Now I'm really looking forward to watching it.
went and watched after listening and it was amazing 10/10
as soon as they started talking about a funny looking FOP guy i knew it was gonna be John McNesby lol
Holy shit! One of my first jobs ever was at a call center called Millenium, and it was exactly as these guys describe. They must've been linked in some way to CRG, because we worked on the exact same campaigns they mentioned. I distinctly remember being a 14 year old, sitting in a room full of junkies and ex-cons, pretending we were cops to scam on behalf of the local FOP. The trainers would heavily imply, but never outright say, that we should tell people having one of those stickers on their car would get them out of speeding tickets😅
I just posted and then saw your comment. 95% sure the company my friends worked at in high school in KC was Millennium.
@tylery85 Millennium was a sister company owned by the same people. At CDG it was called millennium teleservices.
Millenium was literallly CDG. They had multiple names for the same company.
Yep millennium in lake city fl
No one talking about how seamless that ad read was??? I see you
I need to watch this. I worked for a nonprofit fundraising company for like 3yrs in college. Pretty sure they are still around and they were not a scam but a ton of younger kids working there and a lot of funny stories.
be prepared for the realization when you watch the documentary that where you worked was absolutely a scam.
Don’t bother. It falls apart after episode one. Rather than conduct the important interviews himself, Sam relies on Pat (a recovering heroin addict with no professional experience or natural talent) to conduct the interviews and as you can expect he has no idea what he’s doing. The subject matter was great but the execution was poor
@@alphawollf5589 not everyone can be an alpha like you wolfboy. I'll go ahead and watch it anyways
@@drewc1991 lol so funny you ain’t gotta be a dick. Do what you want just giving an honest opinion. I went and checked it out based on Stavs recommendation and was disappointed.
@@alphawollf5589 sorry I was channeling my inner Stavvy with that reply 🤣🤣 I feel you though dude. I'll give it the first ep as you said and then halfway into the 2nd and if it's not my thang I'll be happy for your opinion 🤙
this is a good get - Telemarketers was fantastic
The documentary is great, but this was even funnier! Nice job
CDC telemarketing was my first job in high skool. Was exactly the atmosphere an same type of people in the doc. It was crazy.
literally finished telemarketers yesterday, this is perfect thank you stavvy
I never watch shows and i watched this show. So good.
This doc absolutely rips man, really enjoyed it! Thanks for bringing these dudes on, I prob would've missed it otherwise.
1:15:01 chopped and screwed is so funny 😂😂
Incredibly god damn funny. Keep up the pod ya’ll!
Sam - if you see this, what’s good with the Skavenger BMX beanie? Did you ride?
Loved the series. One of my all time favorite docuseries.
Glad to see the stavy reclese left shift;)
This episode was hilarious. Great job.
Telemarketers RULES!
Great episode! Can’t wait to watch the movie! 🎉 Thanks for such a fun hour! 😂❤
I worked in a telemarketing office like this 😂 Exactly like this. We started with Cops and then cancer and veteran charities. Called for Kids Wish Foundation, From Canada, Calling the states. 2001 - 2013. Wild office. Company I worked for was also based out of New Jersey. We also got our office shut down. I have some wild stories. I was a damn good caller myself.
nice! love the non-comedian guests for a change of pace.
yea have more stav comedians suck
Damn, I have way too much in common with Sam. Lol
I hope you guys are safe.
When I was a kid in NJ big time donors and police family members would get PBA cards which we called “get out of jail free” cards. They would show them at traffic stops to get out of getting a ticket.
I was always fascinated by the blatant corruption inherent in this practice and wondered why no one ever did anything about it.
Because it went unchecked this practice grew and grew, crossed state lines and became normalized.
PBAs and the like are criminal racketeering rings, plain and simple.
Thanks for shining a light on it.
Central Jersey native here. Middlesex/Monmouth county. I've yet to watch the series but this sounds like a local "business" right on the Raritan Bay.
Edited to add quotation marks
I’m 25 and I still smoke weed and watch Pokémon
hell yea
Hentai doesn't count
@@FTJanyes it does
I know no one asked but i might have to do that today
On a good day
It’s like listening to a lecture from an unqualified person
As a former CDG caller, i approve of this episode 👌 Big up Sam.
Where is Bill batterback? The Turk.
Remember Steve dudas and his girlfriend? I know you do.
My nibba
James, you were in the docuseries. Lol. Weren't you a manager?
1:07:02 “ it’s not that I think I’m too good, it’s just that I’m scared that I’m too good for this person is objectively better.”
This series was incredible, I loved it. And now Blumenthal--who looks like a total asshole in ep 3--has been shamed into actually investigating the scammers!
Great doc series, yes Pat is the best!!
Love Stavies lavender shorts. Cheeow!
I worked at a telemarketing place for a year and it was wild. I'd carry around a tape recorder and got some good minutes of an employee and the boss cussing each other out. The boss was Indian and they'd pause during an argument so he could explain to the boss what certain expressions mean then they would continue.I walked in with a brown paper bag fresh out of jail from a DUI and everybody said hey jailbird cause they recognized the bag. I also had my wallet stolen right after I cashed my check because a coworker who lived in a hotel spotted me at the check cashing place. Dark crazy times. It was all i could do being such an unstable alcoholic myself at that time. It was sufficient income for me to pay rent and party.
Love it Stav! You are great at single interviews. Those two person interviews need some work tho. Not in a bad way, just in a let everyone share with the group way. I blame it on Eldis.
SO FUNNY! LOVE YOUR SHOW STAV! Thank you.
Is this Dude "Hey Arnold" all grown up 🤣🤣🤣 His living situation sounds familiar 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The lesbian age gaps thing is such a like incredibly well read take 😭it’s ignored and a understatement saying it’s prevalent
The promos have me dying. “What were you guys saying?” Lmaooo
Going to check out telemarketer. Great episode Stav.
Just watched it after listening to this pod this morning. I hadn’t heard about it. Holy shit! Didn’t know about all that…I see those fuckin police stickers all the time..wow..like they say, the biggest gang in America. Y’all always shave the best guests. Thanks for having them on. The documentary was fantastic✌🏼💓
pat pespas better be getting fucking paid for his work, he was the star of the show.
Now what were you guys saying? *pink water bottle reappears*
That first ad transition was perfect.
The ad cut-away was seamless
My favorite part of this show is when Stavvy is unnecessarily mean to his callers and can't find the balls to tell his guests to talk into the mic.
Great pod boys!
Sad to hear you obliviously have to fire him. Hit me up Stav, I'm ready!
half of stav’s sentences are never finished
It's a great show. Cool to find out that Sam is hilarious!
those ad cuts baby, that was clean af
Im pretty sure I got a call from this exact company a few weeks ago lmaoooo
People keep saying that Marvel is formulaic. But the good ones has heart. I don't know if AI will make us cry for a racoon having a life realization.
I love you Stavvy!!! So cool you had these guys on.
Great episode. Stoked to here more form the story. You rock Stav
Stav being described as an evolved man while being built like, dressed, and sitting like a caveman
Watched the doc last night after this episode, it fucking ruled - thanks for putting this out there!
HOLY S*IT I finished the doc. Wow. An absolute roller coaster. Hope yous get awards dumped on you.
Dude the tooth whistle is insane my guy hahaha
My advice for the high school teacher, is when you address that stuff, have a well thought answer for what is your idea of a better way of thinking, and clearly tell them that you are showing them the better way, and be patient enough to repeat it again and again, because the only real hope is that someday in the future it might click in their heads.
lol the transition at the end of the ads
Next episode Stavvy is gonna just be balls out
I Worked For CDG IN MICHIGAN ..I'm about to watch this TODAY
God damn great recommendation
just one opppa isnt gonna cut it Stavy, we are gonna need the OPP OPP at the end gang 😁🤣
I was also a telemarketer and that shit is depressing
