    The Sassanids were one of the largest and strongest empires in Iranian history. They had so much potential and they had our destiny in their hands. I love how you tried to show the Romans (Byzantines) and Turkish nomads in this masterpiece, by which I mean their presence near the Sassanid Empire! ♥️🤍💚

      Kurds (Kurdish: کورد ,Kurd) or Kurdish people are an Iranian[30][31][32] ethnic group native to the mountainous region of Kurdistan in Western Asia, which spans southeastern Turkey, northwestern Iran, northern Iraq, and northern Syria.[33] There are exclaves of Kurds in Central Anatolia, Khorasan, and the Caucasus, as well as significant Kurdish diaspora communities in the cities of western Turkey (in particular Istanbul) and Western Europe (primarily in Germany). The Kurdish population is estimated to be between 30 and 45 million.[2][34]

      I know you wrote that in probably ironic sense, but I never could understand why people feel nostalgic for certain dynasties. Especially I see it currently in some nationalistic Germans and in media about Chinese history. Dynasties are just dudes, whether they're born and grow up to be good or bad is really just chance-dependent and just stupid as a form of government for actively political populace.

    • @SamJawBone
      @SamJawBone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@freddekl1102 I wasn't being ironic at all. The reason why I appreciate the Sassanian Empire isn't for its leaders or statehood, but its culture and achievements. I have a lot of respect for ancient Persian culture in general, including the Achaemenid and Arascid dynasties, but the Sassanids are particularly noteworthy because they were the last Zoroastrian, Classical Persian culture of Iran before the invasion of Islam. The fall of the Sassanid Empire was a historic tragedy in my opinion, so seeing it remembered or surviving in some fashion nowadays makes me happy.

Moreover the only glaring difference that was between Islam and Zoroastrianism was the fact that the former does not actually believe in a dualistic universe, Islam views both good and evil/light and darkness as creations of Allah, even Satan acts by the will and permission of Allah and not independently of his Creator unlike Ahriman.

I am actually currently playing a character who has sassanid ancestors, secretly maintaining his old Zorastrian religious and currently serving under the mighty Abassid Caliphate. I am using intrigue and deception to slowly gain influence, manipulate the powerful vassals to get them to my side and launch a huge rebellion to depose the Caliph and bring back the Sassanid Empire.

      It was everyone’s worst nightmare. The Sassanids were Neo-Zoroastrian and puritanical. They slaughtered anyone who did not submit to the belief or the specific cultural norms they laid out. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians, Indians and Greeks were killed as a consequence, the biggest victims being the Buddhists of what is now Afghanistan. They also extinguished all but 3 fire temples in the entirety of Iran yet still called themselves Zoroastrian. The Sassanids created a Religious-Nationalism that acted as a wedge between the East and the West. The Parthians sought to turn Iran into the intersection and meld Rome and India together, using Mahayana Buddhism. However the Sassanids disrupted that, and the Romans replicated what the Sassanids did. The Imperial Court of Rome did not like how the entire Roman Army at this point was Mithraic and the Greek population were Buddhist and spreading it. They saw this as Persian influence, so to counter they integrated the Masonry from Egypt into the Government- a critical mistake. The Masons cleanses the Roman government and then established the Christian Ity which then followed what the Sassanids did and began slaughtering any who did not accept it. The Parthians now lost control over both the East and the West. What they did to regain control was create Islam based on the foundation of Mahayana Buddhism which is the opposition to Zoroastrianism. They then deployed it to Arabia via Salman the Persian who was the handler of Muhammad. The Parthians used Muhammad the same way the CIA used Osama Bin Laden. The CIA bankrolled Bin Laden to rally the Afghan Tribes under the Mujahideen in order to kick out the Soviets from Afghanistan. Likewise the Parthians bankrolled Muhammad to rally the Arab Tribes under the Islam in order to kick out the Sassanids from Iran. The issues arose after Muhammad’s death, when Uthman hijacked the power vacuum and began purging Islam of the Persian/Indian influence, basing the Sunni on Nabatean centric beliefs. This resulted in the Parthians via Salman to back Ali who created the Shia to counter the now hijacked Sunni. The Sunni however gained the upper hand, and under the Umayyads the Islam was further corrupted. The Turkic and Mongol hordes adopted the Sunni, not because of Allah, but because the platform the Ummayads crafted it into being optimized control over the populace. Umayyads were 75% slaves btw. The Turkic and Mongol hordes weaponized the Sunni, and used it to destroy the Arabian, Mesopotamian, Persian, and Indian civilizations, wiping out Buddhism from Central and South Asia with exception of Sri Lanka (the Root Chakra) and Tibet (the Crown Chakra).
      For more info I recommend Jason Reza Jorjani. His material is hard to find due to him being blacklisted. You’ll know why when you listen to his interviews.

    Very nice work! This music and some other ancient Iranian musics are really helpful for me.
    Do you have any idea about music of Median Empire and many other ancient civilizations that lived in ancient country of Iran? The pre-Acaemeanid history, the history that is really rich and unfortunately a huge part of it is unknown and mysterious for us and also a huge part of it was removed by westerns.
    We know we have that history but we don't know about it much. Thanks!

    • @faryafaraji
      @faryafaraji  3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Unfortunately the music of ancient Iran is pretty much lost to us, and we can trace back a clear understanding of Iranian music mostly starting from the Middle Ages circa 1000 A.D. Even this song I made is in no way representative of what Iranian music would have sounded like during the Sassanian era-it's modern orchestral music with modern Iranian influences.
      When it comes to the Sassanian era, I would say that the singing you hear in this piece might be the only element representative of the era itself-the Arabs were deeply influenced by the Byzantines and the Iranians, and both cultures have religious chants with this sort of lamentative, melismatic style, so it stands to reason that Zoroastrian chants and Byzantine chants would have sounded like this to some degree and influenced the newly emerging Arabs.
      So looking at early Arab music gives us some insight into both Byzantine and Iranian music of the 7th and 8th century A.D, as they would have influenced the Arabs. So we can imagine to some degree what Iranian music would have been like at the end of the Sassanian era, but anything before that is a mystery. Pre-Achaemenid music is a total mystery as far as I know, and there's unfortunately no way to research what it was like unless some new archealogical findings are found detailing the music.

Another story that is in Ardeshir Babakan's career, and Ferdowsi's Shahnameh also states the same, is that Ardeshir, born of the marriage of Sasan - a descendant of Darius III of Achaemenid with the daughter of Babak, was a local ruler in the state of Pars[P2].

    In the end the Sasanians won, even though during the last war of their plurimillenial conflict against the Greek/Romans were defeated and then embedded in the islamic caliphate, if you think about it, the Turks are clearly a Persianate society. And they defeated the Romans, took New Rome and reached Vienna. Anatolia is not anymore a Greek land, but a Persianate land: in the end, Yazdegerd III has won, a Persianate culture still stands in Thracia.
