So you can build entire underwater bases, submarines, guns, and create power using a small device that uses lasers to create matter and from rocks found under water but you can't build a ship to get back home?

The guy doesn't really build anything though. He has his computer lasers form advanced technology from scraps found on the ocean floor.
I had not done any research on this game's updates since I last played it very long ago. So, when I discovered there was a radiation suit. I dedicated myself to making that and getting a sea moth so I could see if I could salvage anything from the Aurora.
Let me explain something. Open water is my worst fear. I am terrified of what may be lurking in the water. I am pretty much torturing myself by playing this game. Traveling across open sea was a terrifying experience. I kept telling myself "Don't look down, don't look down."
When I arrived I was relived to find shallow water. Looking around the wreckage I got out of my moth when I saw a small loot box. I retrieved a first aid kit. "neat!" I hopped back in my moth and continued exploring, taking in the scenery of the wreckage.
I hit a lag spike and a Reaper spawned about 30 meters away from me. I immediately paused and started panicking. "Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Am I going to die? Am I going to die? Is it hostile? Please don't kill me."
I recalled the first time I saw a reef back. It was horrifying. Without realizing it was a passive monster I hid at the bottom of the ocean until I drowned.
After having a panic attack for about 5 minutes I unpaused it and tried to drive my moth back home as fast as I could. I didn't hear it chasing me. "Maybe this one's passive too." I turned around and got myself a face full of Reaper mouth. I started screaming. "I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I just built this sub! God damn it!" It released me after dragging me across the floor for a while and my mad dash home continued. It grabbed me again. Screaming resumed. With 11% health remaining it released me again and once again I continued running home like a scared child. "Is it faster than me? Is it still chasing me? I don't hear it! Shit shit!" My home was in sight. I pulled up to my humble little single room house and looked around.
It was gone. I went inside. I survived. I didn't know how, but I survived. I spent the next 5 minutes babbling about what the hell that thing was. I promptly saved the game, quit to desktop, looked it up on the Subnautica wiki, looked up this video, then started writing this.
And that was my first experience with the most horrifying thing I've ever experienced in my gaming career.

That's not a reaper, that's a tamer version of my mother-in-law. We also store her in an underground cavern so deep it's surrounded by molten rock that acts like a cage. If she escapes, again, a balrog has been hired. He is there to tell her, "You shall not leave the premises!" What? You assume the balrog can't think for himself and he'd copy Gandalph's line? That's seriously balrogphobic.

OTIZZMITH Excellent! It is an honour to be given this presdigious award and it's an even bigger honour for you to present it. I imagine. Is there a ca$h prize? A trophy of some sorts? Hey RIOT, i was thinking about making a game that cant actually happen, but its a cool concept ( Atleast in my eyes ). It's a forest/ARK: Survival Evolved like game where you are going to colinize a planet when your ship malfuctions and launches your cryo pod into jupiter and you find floating rocks that you live on, certain rocks contain tech and components. Also there will be multiplayer\singleplayer modes.
Multiplayer has 2 modes Mode 1: Story multiplayer. You can play the story with friends. Mode 2: Non story. You play with others\Friends with no objectives.
Singleplayer has modes Mode 1: Story. You play story Mode 2: Free mode. No story, but you have to worry about oxegen and food\water Mode 3: Ultra Free mode. No story, no worries either.
It would be on consoles and PC. I just dont know how to make this happen, i am around 13 so i dont have a team. :P just a cool idea. Tell me what you think, sorry if this was annoying or something. :P

I had that problem too, I made a massive cage for him in the mushroom biome and he just totally ignored it and glitch flew right through the walls XD. Great video though, hope they patch the terrain soon, but I can understand that programming takes a lot!

1:It would've been so cool if you pit a bulkhead between the last corridor and the "observatory."
2:You NEED to do tanks for the sea dragon and sea emperor Leviathians when they're added, and maybe even put them in the same one if they aren't hostile to one another.
Riot, try user the "dig" commands.. It'll be faster creating a cavity down a hole. Another suggestions is use Vertical Connectors to tunnel down, this so you need not build that many ladders on each compartments.
I was thinking. Maybe you create a large underground cavity which has a extended observatory out to the middle. Then you put in a few reapers in... That'll scared the shit out of anyone inside the observatory.. ;)

I've never been on your channel before, but this vid was really enjoyable!
I think part of the problem was that the room still was not big enough. If it was further dug out both further in, up, and down, any reapers he spawned in there would have less of a chance of always smacking into the walls or the floor or ceiling, which is what often causes them to glitch.
I can just imagine the reaper disappearing and then the head just breaks through the wall.😨
This Thing will eat you the second it sees you, but try looking at it from its view, it needs food and it has to eat to survive. Can't judge it for that.

You should try to add a sea dragon tank as well, when they fix the terrain of course, everytime i spawn it, it just swims through terrain like it wasn't even there.

this is a cool idea! Sadly, i did this and my leviathan decided it liked swimming through rocks more than killing me, so it preceded to escape into the deep pit known as the void and... If you go down there... hear roaring... That is the Reaper, it has grown huge and launches anything that swims 8'192 meters down will launch you back to the safeshallows
Old video, sadly. I wish I could go back to these times. I just looked for this video after so many years. I have such fond memories of this version. This game is one of the best things that ever happened in my life, and this channel as well. Why must it already have ended, so many years ago.

The building reminds me of Jackspecticeye's in one of his episodes. Along with the "kick that like button in the nuts," because his is punching it in the face or something..

That "cage" isn't big enough. It needs to be twice as tall and about 50% longer at LEAST. The amount of space given don't allow the animations and the model enough room to properly flow before a collision happens. Gotta take that into account. Just letting you know for any future/updated leviathan caging vids.
put some remote camera drones in there, that might keep the leviathon from glitching through the walls

im preatty sure that some vertical passages would be much more practical since you would only have 1 ladder instead of a zillion.i have a base set up at 240m deep with a entrance at the surfice and it takes me 0,5 seconds to get down there.
You know you could've used that gray pipe thing instead of ladders. It brings you down from top to bottom instantly without climbing insane amounts of ladders. Just a suggestion

I would make the reaper cage bigger.
U can't close the reaper between ground, because the reaper can swim through the ground. I wrote U a few month before.
There are 2 place where U can see the reaper. Under Aurora, and far away next to the mushroom forest 200m deep. Between this 2 point the reaper swimming in the ground.
This is why some times U can't find under the Aurora, because that time the reaper on the other place, or in the ground swimming :)
If this is a glitch they don't want to fix it. How I wrote few months ago was same.
