- The vibrant Notting Hill Carnival has returned after 2 years break due to restrictions. This year in 2022, it was organised on last August bank holiday weekend (27, 28 and 29th August). This London Walk will show you this magnificent celebration and colourful streets of Notting Hill. Fully shot in 4K HDR, Hope you will enjoy !

Meantime, police detectives revealed there had been a number of violent incidents and serious stabbings' at this year's festival, one man died on his way to hospital with a knife wound, and the whole place left like a rubbish landfill site. A good time was had by all.
Violence also happens at football matches, music festivals and other large gatherings. The man's death yesterday was a tragedy which will hopefully see the killers brought to justice. But there's no need to snipe from the sidelines while other people enjoy life.

For the numbers of people who attended, the crime rate for the carnival would appear to be low.

The clearing of rubbish normally starts on the evening of the last day of carnival. But there was a strike by the those providing such service over the weekend.
@@Evemeister12 Not sniping at all, just saying it as I see it. Shops, homes and businesses all boarded up in north west London, even Sainsbury's boarded up albeit in their corporate colours. I totally agree with you violence happens everywhere, and usually by young men stupidly trying to prove themselves, I'm sure that after all the hard graft the organizers put into this, especially after three years of not having one, they must now be weeping into their hands at the few who caused this and now asking themselves will there ever be another one.

Enjoy life at the expense of other people's suffering?
You see all those buildings in the video? Most of those buildings are residential buildings ie. people's homes. In fact the majority of the carnival takes place down residential roads.
The Met Police report that 6 in 10 locals complain about noise and 75% complained about urination in their gardens and on their property. A survey commissioned by a local MP found that '...nine out of ten residents flee their homes during the 2 days of the carnival...'!
Not to mention all the drugs and low-lives that are attracted to such an event.
How would you like 2 million odd strangers coming to your leafy residential street and throwing a two day party?!

At the end of day 2 the carnival descended into violence, murder and gang warfare as many predicted. Looks fairly safe during the day though.

It's been happening for years so there's no surprise, it will happen again next year also.
