That was such a genuine friendship. No matter what you may think of Boyzone and their music, I salute their friendship and the love they have for their friend, the late, great and much missed, Stephen Gately..
Missed and loved
My brother also died in Majorca in 2009. He was 32. It’s bad enough losing a brother but when it happens on foreign soil it’s even worse. That’s why Stephen’s death affected me particularly. On a side note I bumped into Ronan in London once and he was the politest person ever. He was with his baby, I think Jack who is now grown up.

In fact gay guys are often (not always) some of the nicest guys you'll meet as they're not afraid of their emotions like many "straight" guys seem to be. I mean, I'm not one to cry publicly but I still love a good love story and understand that pain, and also joy, is a part of being human.

these guys are amazing they weren't just a band but an extremely close loving family...genuine friends like these boys are hard to find..
I could only imagine how hard it would've been for the boys to talk so openly about Stephen's death so soon after this tragedy happened. They all showed such strength and a bond that is very rare between males, and I greatly admire each and every one of them for showing so much respect and dignity towards their brother whom they loved dearly. All your fans are behind you 100% and will support you through this for as long as you need us to. Hold your heads up high boys, you've done the Gately family and the rest of us proud. Thank you so much for posting this for those of us in the States that never got to see this stuff. I was so heartbroken when I heard he had died and watching things kinds of things helps. Seeing the guys leaning on each other and everything. RIP Steo, we miss you!

+Sam Mack Steo and his mom had a problem ,because of the come out of Steo,they did not talked very long time (10 years )they were not happy that Steo married to Andrew,and Andrew respected the family wishes, because they did not wanted to see him. Steo's mom accused Andrew of the death of his son,hired a private investigator tried to brings him to court,and tried to claim Steo's money to herself.

when Stephen's Mom asked he not be left alone and the guys stepped up. That just did it right there. Be by his side till the very last minute/second.
9:15 look at their body language, all four of them. Crossed legs, crossed arms, crossed ankles, clasped hands, set jaws, fixed expressions. All defensive posturing. They don't want to be there. I really hope that this interview was something they freely chose to do, and not something their management forced them to do.

Oh gosh I don't think I will ever forget when I found out. I have been a fan of Boyzone but esp Steo since I was 5. He was front and center on my wall oeople thought I was strange this little southern girl obsessed with an Irish band. The day he died I was at work and my boyfriend at the time kept trying to get a hold of me, I was in a mtg and my phone kept beeping. My sister was pregnant with her first at the time so I excused myself thinking it was her. I remember it said check your news Steo's dead. I lost it. I ended up going home and I cried the whole way home. I lived with a family at the time and the mom called my mom freaking out. My mom just sat with me on the phone 3,000 mi apart not saying anything just letting me cry. I am not one to get hung up on celebrity's but to this day I still choke up thinking of him and every year light a candle for him. He was my first hero.

Today 11 jears ago true very true we lost Stephen to soon at age of 33 old when he passed away he was sich a very talented man just lost him to soon .and every song he sang there was a purpose for every he sang. Stephen will Always be number one to me .never forget.

Was going to run away from home to get to Stephens funeral the day I found out I wanted to join him bz were and still are my life my heart broke for the Boyz and stevos family I remember being in a rage when stories were coming over drugs or being gay was so angry and upset 9 years on it's still devastating

I've never really like Boyzone but I liked Stephen Gately though and since he's passed away it's been different but I am still not keen on boyzone though
Jessie Franklin You're an American, ye? Well I would say Boyzone was once the best of the best boyband before BSB, Westlife and NSYNC came out. It only takes two lead singers to carry a band like this, Ronan and Steo did it so amazingly during the peak of Boyzone's career, salute to the other 3 lads. And for a die hard fan like me, Boyzone will always be one of the best bands and their history will always be written in the stars.
