Me too brother even since I was in the womb
If you see her" is one of the great songs that will endure
I am so glad somebody FINALLY posted this song... have always loved this song. And you won't believe this, but here goes. This actually happened at the time when I lived in the headphones listening to this great, great song by one of the greatest songwriters who ever lived. It was 1975 I think. I came out of the C&S Bank branch on Prince Avenue in Athens, Georgia. I walked to my car past this beautiful girl just standing on the sidewalk. I got to my car and I heard her say, "Do you know Mickey Newberry?" I turned around and she was looking straight at me. I was dumbfounded. Even today the thought of it still sends a shiver down my back. I just shook my head, got in my Pontiac, and drove away. "If you see her and she mentions my name". God Almighty, is all I can say. If it had been today, I would have damn sure had a conversation.
That damn steel just makes me cry like a damn fool for love. I love it.
Wow, brother. That is something. I am with you, that would haunt a feller.
It does. I regret everyday not stopping to talk to her.... stupid kid I was.
Yep... me too
Waylong Jennings did an amazing 🏆 version of this song . 🇺🇸🎸

If the dreamer in her ever set her free
so glad I ran into this artist..
brilliant, brilliant,brilliant....
This song has been recorded by more than a few singers, Mickey's version is the best--He wrote it & he oughta know!
It brings back memories of a love long ago!
one of the great songs
Absolutely great!
Dude. Love this. Perfexion.
Sweet and innocent days - you should have gotten residuals just for that picture, Chris. Looking at that list of studio musicians and sidemen- they’re almost all gone now. The singer lives on in faraway realms and a thousand hearts.
Yeah I'm the fat, bald, cross-eyed one in the photo
Mickey 's " A storm is coming" is outstanding!!
Also "What Condition My Condition Is In". Just plain greatness.
Fantastic singer and great song thanks for this great post

two letters - NO - all are so above and beyond!
Mickey doubled his recorded content in the last decade of his life. If you don't have his later masterpieces go to MickeyNewbury.com to buy them, what a master of lyrical emotional content his was. The best!
