First time I went to Koh Larn there was nothing outside of Naban Pier! In fact, the "road" leading to Samae Beach was just a dirt track, with only about the first 500m paved. We got on a couple of motorcycle taxis, and as we got to the top of the mountain, the view was nothing short of breathtaking... like something from a movie! No boats, no jet skis, no permanent buildings, and just half a dozen or so umbrellas! Just the classic travel catalogue view of a white sandy beach, turquiose sea, and palm trees! There was a woman with a little shack, who would cook us a bit of fried rice and sell water, and we had to arrange a pick up time with the motorcycle taxis, as there was no mobile signal back then. We rarely saw another person on that beach until about 2002 when they started building the water treatment works, or whatever it is. I still love to go over now and again, but it's always a little sad now when I think back to how beautful and unspoilt it was about 25 years ago.
@@LePubPattaya People think I'm making it up when I tell them how "picture postcard" Koh Larn used to be. It was amazing that you could literally be on a "deserted paradise island" within 30 minutes of Pattaya. It's a shame it's so over-developed now really.
Very helpful. Never been so will make a day trip next time I’m in the LOS. Good variety of vids! BTW - just had my one year anniversary as a member. My how things have changed and great to seeing you do so well. See you again in December.
Fantastic video Egg, taking the ferry looks easy as can be. I took a speedboat there once and the choppy water after combined with the prior night out on the town almost did me in! ha! Great video, thank you!
Thanks Phil. I think it's smarter to take the ferry directly to Tawaen Beach on the way out as well if you want to visit that beach. From there you can also walk to the smaller, less frequented Hat Sangwan Beach. I would only travel via Na Baan if I wanted to go to other beaches on Koh Larn.
Well Phil! Excellent information. I did a day trip to Koh Larn last time and came back at 6pm, felt it was a bit rushed. Next time I plan to stay a night. See you in about two weeks lad 🤠
We usually go to Samae beach. Quieter than where the ferry arrives at although I have seen some funny sights there. It's a constant procession of Chinese tourists on and off speedboats.
Thanks for this entertaining video mate !!! I did the ferry trip to Koh Larn on my last Pattaya holiday in May. Absolutely recommended !!! 🌴🌞🏊 By the way: I always like your humour: "as you all my know from previous videos my bike driving skills are not the best" (video ca. 9:58min) ... hillarious !!! 😂🤣😅 PS: Cos my bike driving skills are probably even more limited I hired a motorbike taxi from the ferry to Tawen Beach for only 50 THB each way ... so quite cheap as compared to Pattaya city. 👍
Good research i think i saw your hat in Stockholm. But where is the food? Need to do the food , show menu order and take a bite and say it's wonderfull or even do some faces like Mark Wiens
Definitely on my future agenda. Thanks for showing us all the options Mr.Egg. I did not realize that I could return to Pattaya from That (Back of the Island) beach aka Tawaen Beach 👍🏻
Has there ever been a time where a car was parked in the free area, a guy comes up asking for payment, the car owner refuses to pay, walks off and when returned his windows smashed in or flat tires??
Don't rent a bike. You have an accident you will have no end of expense and of some one else gets hurt most likely no insurance to cover there bills and compensation
Great question. I haven’t seen a ramp, it’s a difficult boarding for a wheelchair user. Let me take a look next time I go. My advice would be to hire a speedboat and get a beach boarding point.

@@MrMairu555 The clear blue water and pristine white sand days are gone, sadly. I get melancholy remembering 1992 Samet and Samui too.
Very useful information. Had to watch other vids that answered no questions for me first. Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Phil your Best report Ever Loved very Informative Saving us all a lot of Cash Great ADvice Thanks mate Awesome Vlog
Cheers Anthoney. Praise indeed.
As Mr. Punch said ' That's the way to do it'. Best get about vid ever. All the points covered.

Great video Phil. Great memories. Slow boat is much better. +1
I agree.

Thanks for the tip!
There's a lot of exhaust fumes come out of the engine bay, so try and sit in front of where the engine is if you're on that deck
Good advice Sean.
Really good stuff Mr Egg and BC! Maybe Koh Samet next??
yes please!
Ok
Thanks Marty!
Well done, will check out the Island when back, see you soon....
Many thanks John

Wow. Ok, great news. Hope Milk is open by then.
Great video and great advice, cheers Phil 👍
Thanks Shawn
Hey Phil did u lose your granny hat lol.good info for tourists who haven't been to kohlarn.thanks.keep it rollin
I did.
Great advice👍🏻
Cheers Chas
Really interesting; thanks!
Pleasure, Rand.
That looked really easy, Mr Egg. I've always wanted to visit Koh Larn, but never made it out of Central Pattaya due to 'research' commitments.
I like this mystery comment.
full of info as usual i always enjoy your vids ar Kid
I try to make them like that.
I am always pulling the horn when the Egg is on...especially in that saucy hat!!!
Sweet mouth. ❤️

I know where you mean.
I've seen enough Chinese tourists I think we'll head to the back of the island. Thanks for the tip!
Nice little day trip if nothing else to just stop for lunch.
Yes you could but better food options on the mainland.
I got a speed boat last week near the pier for 2 people 600 baht return 👌
Very good value. Was that on your own?
@@LePubPattaya no that was for 2👍🏻

I think it’s important to be able to take the Micky out of yourself. Glad you enjoyed the video
I'm going to steal that one Phil---"I'm pullin' My Horn!" 🤣
I’ll give you that one.
Are there blue buses everywhere on the island to go back to the piers?
I have to be honest, I don’t know. I don’t go to this island that often. Maybe my viewers can comment.
Thank you Phil. 👍😎🙏
Always Mitch.
Curious: why take the ferry to Taban then taxi to Tawaen? Why not take the ferry straight to Tawaen?
So you can see both ferry routes
As BC said. So we could show all aspects of the island.
You can get a boat and or speed boat before walking street … middle of beach road
That’s where we filmed at the beginning.
Good research i think i saw your hat in Stockholm. But where is the food? Need to do the food , show menu order and take a bite and say it's wonderfull or even do some faces like Mark Wiens
Where’s my hat?
Is there hotels there Phil ?
Yes absolutely
Great video Phil , very informative Please more vids like this.
Some people like my travel blogs. I’m not really a travel guy, but I’ll try to do more.
@@LePubPattaya Thanks Phil A similar video on Koh Samet would be great.

Wow PREPFORIT---I always thought you were a member?
Yes mate.
Can you hire motorcycles in koh larn not scooters?
I didn’t see any. But the roads are quite narrow and winding. A scooter would be better.
Has there ever been a time where a car was parked in the free area, a guy comes up asking for payment, the car owner refuses to pay, walks off and when returned his windows smashed in or flat tires??
No never seen that but the free parking scam is a problem.
Brilliant video Phil. Will definitely check it out. Might even take 7/11 girl with me. 555 only kidding mate
She’s a lucky girl. Two handsome men after her.
speedboat is expensive AF. im gonna stick to ferry
Always a cheaper alternative
Can you swim there
Yes
Yes, clearer water than Pattaya.
It's better to take a boat. If you try to swim there, you'll never manage it IMHO. 🤔
Had a great time in Milk last night.... Fantastic atmosphere Fantastic girls.... dont miss out ...
Thanks mate. It’s getting better.
