Gill, the difference between that Draper incident is that he was genuinely apologetic, on court at the time of the incident, and after, where Humbert looked like he didn't understand what he did wrong. I have always been Humbert 's fan, but his behavior towards Khachanov put such a sour taste in my mouth. Hopefully he does better next time. Big congrats to Zverev, played pretty much perfect match, under pressure of being a favorite, with 99.9 crowd against him. He found his best tennis towards the end of the tournament and silenced the French crowd!😁
I enjoyed the Paris Masters Final, because it gave me 2019 Tampa Bay Lightning vibes where the Tampa fans were completely silenced as their historically great team got swept by the Columbus Blue Jackets. I've been to Humbert's hometown and that part of France is actually my favorite part of France even though one of my relatives was killed there at the end of WWI in the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne. I'm curious to see how well Alex Michelsen does in the Moselle Open in Humbert's hometown this week.
Well Gill, your upset alert just won the tournament😆. Not gonna lie, I was surprised as well at his level all week, because I knew he had been struggling with pneumonia for a long time. Seems like he is in better shape again. Today he was imperious! Arthur Fils has the game to be a top 5 and certainly top 10 next year. He's up there with Shelton and Rune for me and is perhaps ahead of them in terms of consistency . I thought he was a clay court specialist, but he has done well in hard courts and even indoor courts recently and that suggests he can have success all year long. Arthur Fils was the toughest opponent Zverev faced in Paris last week.
Rublev is the only guy this year who managed to win both Alcaraz and Sinner, which is pretty impressive. I wouldn’t say Andrey was way above De Minaur health-wise, given that Andrey underwent a surgery as well as was clearly unwell during his Madrid run and prior to that. His Dubai accident shouldn’t be overlooked either.

I've never played on any of these courts, obviously, never played on grass in my life and I understand there obviously must be the difference between Bercy and Wimbledon. But there are 2 main similarities right now: quickness of the court and low bounce. Maybe Alcaraz wasn't at his best in Bercy like he wasn't at Queens this year when Draper beaten him? I wouldn't be that harsh on Alcaraz for speaking his mind, but I agree with Gill, court speed is the same for all players. Part of beauty of tennis is the variety of court speed, it gives advantages to certain play styles, and it makes it fun. French men's tennis (and Humbert) lose power of those two don't play. Just those two can shape men's tennis by their choices, and one of them is starting to realize that.

For the last 20 years been Nadal’s biggest fan,but now even though i support Alcaraz,tennis is pretty much boring and i dont watch it. Only 3 mins highlights stuff is what i watch. Slams are the only ones that count,even them i dont watch that much. The sport reached its peak with the Big 3 + Murray ,now its gonna be on a decline in the next 10 years. And the Final 8 Masters. That tournament was at its peak while being played in Germany,those Frankfurt Hannover years ,the best Masters final8 years for sure.

Alcaraz's game is more dependent on being at 100% with the legs. And having a faster surface is like having less legs in a way.
