One of the more naturally gifted guards the Lakers had during the 2nd half of the 60s. His game pre-dated the flashier "player-friendly" ABA not long after. Biggest knock on him was that he kept a young Gail Goodrich (a far better fit on the team at that point in time) on the bench during the latter's first couple years in the league, greatly stalling his development into the future All-Star/Hall-Of-Famer he would eventually become. Biggest claim to fame however was being the centerpiece of the trade package Lakers sent to the Sixers for Wilt Chamberlain. Rest is history, pretty much (lol)... ;-)
