It's because of these theories is the reason people are leaving the theater hating the movie. These fake fanboys and fangirls were so set in their thinking of how the movie should go they can't accept the way the movie went.
No. No I liked it! I saw last Jedi for the 2nd time! It's just all these so called fans of star wars hate the prequels, they hated the new sequel. They hated force awakens because it was similar to a new hope. They hate tlj because it's not like the other star wars movies. They are driving me up the wall!
All the fan theories were stupid anyway. I mean, Kenobi being Rey's father/grandfather? That doesn't even make sense. I gleed with excitement in the theater as the movie mercilessly shot down all the idiotic theories one by one.
Couldn’t agree more, that can be said about the direction of Luke as a character too, they wanted him to be the same man he was 30 years ago but he’s just not.
There's actually a lot of plot holes in the movie. And 'Fake' fanboys and girls? most people are upset because they trashed the most iconic character and made him into a different character. If i had to wait 40 years to see Luke sky walker again, and thats how hes portrayed. id be upset too. Also Luke saw good in Darth Vader, despite who Darth Vader was and what hes done. But your telling me he sees a young-ling tempted into the dark-side so he thinks to kill him? And before you keyboard warriors attack me, another simple plot hole is the idea of ending the Jedi. Luke tells Rey the Jedi need to end and he'll show her why. Nothing happens. then at the end he says hes not the last Jedi, Rey is. The movie was entertaining, but to 'true' Star Wars fans, it was a mess.
Luke was one of, if not, the most powerful Jedi in all of star wars. the movies were founded on Luke. Of course people would expect him to be this powerful Jedi. not some hermit on an island

In the next episode, I imagine the opening with Kylo in front of his mother's tomb. Not only he killed his father but he also lost his mother. He's as lonely as Rey now and you know it's the similarities that bring people together not the differences. Regardless of his evil side , he will face the guilt of killing his father and losing his mother and like in an ancient Greek tragedy, Rey will become the catalyst to his redemption which will have the form of a punishment to him. But still good and evil have to be equal in the universe, so the tension between them will rise. I left the theatre in the last Jedi, knowing that the force had been imbued even in me (I'm not kidding, you felt that too I believe.) The star wars is built around archetypes that are imprinted in our subconscious ( like the oidipous complex, why do you think he killed his father...) and uses subliminals that give hints and mixed messages. We will keep going back for more.
The number 9 episode will be epic. They have to deal with Leia's death somehow, plus they created this weird tension between Kylo and Rey.... Yeah.. but I don't think any of the theories will be true though.

Iryna Ovanesian reylo probably won't be happening since is a Disney movie and the prequels fans would freak out if the saga run out of the maniqueism view of world.

Thanks! I just thought it was Ben’s because in the last Jedi Luke’s lightsaber was green and Ben’s was blue. It doesn’t mean that it is. But it could be. It could have been Anakin’s before it was Ben’s but you never know.
Roxi Clement I saw in a video that the hilt of Ben's saber in that flashback is very similar to Anakin's (you don't know if it is identical though), and in episode 7 Kylo tells Finn "This lightsaber... It belongs to ME". Sooooo)
Was it great? No but it was in the top 3 of Star Wars movies. And the reason why half the fans hated it was because it didn't confirm the theories they liked, or it didn't even acknowledge that a theory was necessary. Half the world has decided to become Uber nerds with youtube Chanel's. The movie was very good. It was a Star Wars movie get over it.

As much as I've loved the new movie, I feel like Rian's decisions on all these surprises we witnessed in TLJ, are driven by the desire to not any of these fan theories came true. I wouldn't be surprised, if originally some of them were true, but they've changed them in the middle of making the movie just to be something you've never expected.

Lol. His lightsaber couldn't have always been red. To make a red lightsaber, you have to take a normal Kyber Crystal and essentially convert it to the dark side, giving it a red color. I suspect that he took the blue Crystal from the lightsaber he had when he trained with Luke, turned it red, then constructed a new crossguard hilt for it

The blue lightsaber Ben had is probably the one Rey has now. So he can't have used that crystal to make the red one. That's also why in "The Force Awakens" he says to Finn "That lightsaber is mine".

Nighn_9 the crystal in his crossguard lightsaber was always red. The blue one in the flashback is a different saber, he may have been confused and though they meant in the same lightsaber. Either that or he just didn't wanna give away spoilers from the flashback scene lol

1. My first theory was that they would make TLJ a shitty copy of ESB like they made TFA a shitty copy of ANH
2. My second theory was that rey is in fact a mary sue

Dark Jedi Kylo literally told Rey what she had blocked from her memory: that her parents were nobodies who sold her for junk. Maz even said that her parents weren’t coming back. The cast have confirmed that Rey is not a solo. Also, mark said they have “romantic tension.” Yup. Definitely brother and sister. Cause Disney wants to make sure you can feel the love between them. ....that was sarcasm.

Each Star Wars movie has had a theme. The theme of THE LAST JEDI, was that failure is the best teacher. Rian Johnson failed at writing a good script and he failed at directing a good movie......and he learned something...Congrats Rian
