I know this is a old video, but great tip and you are absolutely right...I offer 2 basic packages, "Standard" and "Deluxe"...I pre spray on both, with heavier pre sprays and more rinsing for my deluxe...when I started offering a Deluxe cleaning I was surprised at the number of customers who asked for the deluxe...extra dirty carpets obviously require more effort, but customers are willing to pay for it if they get the results...and of course there can still be additional costs for extreme odors, water damage, etc...

I like this structure because people feel like I am not trying to nickle and dime them by adding a bunch of extras rather then just having a package for it. Our packages are also designed for different soiling conditions...so if someone doesnt maintain tgeir carpets by vacuuming or regular cleanings...obviously our basic package wont be for them. I agree with Courtney about keeping it simple...but you can do this even while offering packages..
