I watched your video last year when I first started crocheting and thought.. there’s nothing wrong with that bunny! I wish I could make something like that. Watching it today and getting better at it, I see what you’re talking about. Thanks for all the info.
Starting with the face is a KEY! I normally start with the feet and body. Then i make and sew on the arms. And THEN the head and ears. But that makes the problem that the head is just.. whatever. Because i enjoy making the bodies so much, i get it done, hurry on the arms, and just loose interest on the head. So last night i started crocheting a long legged bear. And i made the head, and i'm telling you, it's the most "not rushed" head i've ever made! I don't think i'm going back now😅 i absolutely love this technique!

That tool is the absolute best! Mine broke in half once and found that the slightly jagged edge helps grip the fiber! Now all my stuffing tools are broken in half! ❤️❤️❤️
Here a tip for stuffing. I used to make handmade dolls. I found that using the quilt batting from Walmart gave the dolls a better look and lasted exceptionally well . Just pull off the amount of batting you’d like. Shred it with your hands so it resembles regular stuffing. It’s a much sturdier, coarser stuffing. Highly recommended. For stuffing tools. The larger end of a wooden chopstick works great. Because the stuffing is coarser it’s far easier to stuff.
Thank you for the stuffing information. I have always knitted my toys and only just started crocheting them and unfortunately for my first project I don't think I've stuffed her enough. Something to remember for next time.
Happy New Year, Miss Elise. I just came upon your channel and I am so inspired to take up amigurumi with more passion. Here's my #1 peeve when I do amigurumi, I can never get a perfect round ball after stuffing 😥 The faces of my dolls are loopsided 🤣🤣🤣 I stuff by pushing the center polyfills towards the outer part and then putting more stuffing in the center. I don't know if I'm doing it right or there's a better way. I'm so glad to have found and binge watch your videos. I'm learning and realizing so much. Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
When you're stuffing, use your hands to shape the outside of the head. I use just a little bit at a time and if it looks lopsided I take it out and start over! Hope that helps!! 🧶🧶🧶

Yes! Such a great pattern! Here's a link to the book! www.amazon.com/gp/product/9491643193/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=9491643193&linkCode=as2&tag=lepetitsaintc-20&linkId=9831b758a4d8b20725d418f2b3533c6f 🐸
If you use a pattern from a book or online, are you allowed to make the item and sell it or is that considered a copyright issue or something? I'm interested in getting an amigurumi book or buying some patterns and want to sell some items but I'm not sure if I'm technically allowed.
Each designer has their own policy on whether or not they "allow" people to sell finished items. In general most do, if you share on the label or listing who the pattern designer is. But most books and patterns actually have a statement with that information. But when in doubt, contact the designer and ask. Most of them are on Instagram. 🍄
Love your channel and have learned so much! I do have to ask why do you and so many others add background music to the videos where you are speaking and giving instruction in.? It is so distracting and makes one feel you are rushing through the topic at hand. I have been noticing this trend across all media. I love videos set to music with no speaking but combining the two just doesn’t work .
Hello! Thank you so much! I think it's just a style preference. I try not to add music if I'm doing an actual tutorial but I like the music, but I do know some people find it distracting. ❤
There really isn't a perfect size (or weight) of yarn for amigurumi but I would stick to DK and worsted weight yarns for most patterns. Hope that helps!
I just count my stitches usually every couple of rows. The stitches won't line up just because that's the nature of crochet, so that's normal. Hope that helps!
Please, anybody, if you could help me on this problem I'm having, I would appreciate it so much. So here's my problem; (I have tried to search this so many tines with no luck.) STRETCHED OUT (ripple spots) AREAS!!! I have now tried to redo this project I have been crocheting, a dolls head, 8 times!!! Im getting so discouraged that I am worried I will just say forget it. And I really don't like being a quitter not to mention I've paid for this kit which I would really like to finish. So I really don't want to be a quitter. But im running out of steam as well as patience. I have the correct amount of stitches. I'm increasing/decreasing where I'm supposed to be. My tension is pretty even, theres no holes and no gaps. And my stitches, I was just thinking to myself, started really looking nice. But EVERY SINGLE TIME I make this dolls head/face shape it it won't be the normal head shape or an oval shape or whatever shape I'm supposed to be making. Because there will always be stretched out areas!!! Its like pushed out from the inside looking rippled areas. I'll put it this way. My head on my poor doll wasnt the round oblong head shape it was supposed to be, but instead the top area looked like a damn CHEFS HAT!! 🤣😭Yep. a chefs hat. 👨🍳 Thats a perfect description because it looks EXACTLY like that. I dont know weather to laugh or cry. The smooth transition from the flatter front face was fine. But the round top "skull area" I guess you would say... yeah...right there....CHEFS HAT! WTH?! Its smooth, going fine, going into the curve.. BAM CHEFS HAT! If Im trying to be positive about the situation all I can say is Im lucky its Halloween because if nothing else and I just cant figured it out, at least this characters head can double as FRANKENSTEIN!! 🤣😭HELPPPPP!!!!! Please and thank you and I appreciate it so much in advance. Thanks!
Oh my goodness!!! I feel your frustration right now, of course your detailed description has me laughing! 😂 It sounds to me like there's something wrong with the pattern. It's unfortunate but it happens. You're not quitting, but at some point it's no longer worth the energy and frustration. Hugs to you! ❤️

I started the legs and I dont know if I did it right, but they're even. I lose track so easily on the stitches and I think thats here I'm missing stitches. Is the magic ring the same as a magic circle? My horse is looking more like a pig 🤣 I think im going to restart it because it'd supposed to be a gift and I don't want to give a wonky gift haha
Sounds like he's going to be adorable! My beginning projects were just like that! I love looking back on them. And yes, the magic ring as the same thing as a magic circle! Good luck! 🌻
Needed this!! Thanks Elise!! 🙏🏻❤️

I am really struggling with the pica pau Otter snout color change. I’ve tried doing my color change like the book instructs but my color line along the snout is a mess and is not a clean line at the end. It’s driving me bonkers..😳🤦♀️😬...any tips? What am I doing wrong? Love your blog and channel ❤️
You're not doing anything wrong! It's just like that. One side is nice and neat and the other is a mess! I actually shared mine in this video (I think!) I've made that pattern twice and both times one side looks terrible! th-cam.com/video/v0Vh5wH_L1c/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much, this video helped me so much! You just earned another subscriber! :)

Im having trouble with the first and last stitch in crocheting a round...I mark the last stitch, then start the next round ...but sometimes it doesn't add up....what could I be doing wrong??
Count every single round. I know it can be a pain, but it's worth it to double check! 🧶🧶🧶

HELP!!
Trying to read a pattern that has:
11 SBN, (d, 3 SBN) * 6, Ave, 11 SBN (54), 1 to align knitting.
I’m crocheting in English. How do I read this?
I’m needing a free GOAT pattern.
Blessings from a grandma.
Are you able to share the pattern for the frog in the thumbnail of the video?
@@EliseRoseCrochet thank you so much for replying! I will definitely look into it!
Very nice job 👍 God bless you and your family always 💞
Thank you so very much! 😊

Which size of yarn is idol for amigurumi?
There really isn't a perfect size (or weight) of yarn for amigurumi but I would stick to DK and worsted weight yarns for most patterns. Hope that helps!
How do you keep your stitch count correct when doing the rows. I find that they don’t line up
I just count my stitches usually every couple of rows. The stitches won't line up just because that's the nature of crochet, so that's normal. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the helllppp 🥰
You are so very welcome! ❤️❤️❤️
Everytime I use pins on my amigurumi they fall out in the middle of me sewing another part on and I can never get them straight 😭
I've heard of people using long doll pins to hold things in place. You can also use small double pointed needles if you have any!! 🧶🧶🧶
