@@val-bs1cq First of all, I said it was unrealistic that Joey would be cooking mushrooms and you know that you don't even have to boil mushrooms b4 you cook them?
I really like how mature Joey was in this season. Especially towards his father's situation. How even if he was hurt that his dad cheated on his mom, you can truly see the love he had for his father, by not judging him too much.
i liked when they hung out more and dated other people, then the story revolved around ross and rachel and became a bit less of a comfort show cuz of all the drama

Cant recall in which episode but Joey and Chandler guffawed just at the thought of making dinner for themselves once. Guess the food delivery business really picked up between this scene to that episode
I haven't seen this clip in such a long time. Seeing it now, it's clear he knows how to cook in real life. You don't learn to chop mushrooms for a brief clip in a first-season sitcom. So often in movies and TV shows, there's a character who's supposed to be able to cook, but the way they handle a knife is all wrong. All of the fingers wrapped around the handle only, a back-and-forth sawing motion for something as simple as a carrot, non-cutting hand miles and miles away from the blade just to be safe. He's not cutting mushrooms in some fastidious and precise way like a cook at a Michelin star restaurant who chops a thousand mushrooms a day, but he's cutting mushrooms like someone who feeds himself a lot. I guess as the seasons progressed they wanted to give Joey a little less agency, and they had already decided Monica is "the one who cooks".
Rewatching this makes me realize that out of all six main characters, the Gellers are the most happy family. Chandler, Phoebe, Joey, Rachel all have parents who have split up or even being non-existent in Phoebe's case, while Jack and Judy have remained a loving couple. They aren't very good parents but they are responsible enough to not have affairs or abandon their children.
The writers really turned Joey into a stupid caricature by the end of season 10. Like the when Joey tries to learn French. Not only is the episode not funny but it actually makes me angry!
But it really worked in some storylines to me. Case in point when Rachel and Phoebe were messing with Monica and Chandler when they first found out the latter two were dating and Joey just gave up to even keep up with who knew what lmao
I kind of wish we’d seen more of this Joey, like the first couple seasons they mention multiple times that Joey expects to settle down and have a family.. also it would’ve been cool to see more of his parents idk how but we saw Rachel and Monica/Ross’s families and it would’ve been nice to include Joeys parents too
How sleazy and disrespectful for Joey's Dad to call his mistress from his sons phone while he's staying over as a guest in his apartment. This episode left a bad impression on me. The writers gave Joey's Dad a pass to carry on an extra martial affair and worse still, wrote it in a way that his mother was OK with it because her husband was more "attentive" as a result. WTF?!?!?!......
I always took it to mean that adult life and relationships are often more complicated than we think. Like, that's Joey's lesson. It's not always that easy, it's not always black and white; people aren't perfect, and what feels wrong for some people can work for other people.
@@alexanderluna4598 i can see that hes cooking a sauce. But in the fututre episodes, hes either eating take outs, food from monica and restaurants. As far as I remember, this is probably the only scene of him cooking.
