My name is Ksenia and I am painter and a third year student at the University of Academic Art in Moscow, Russia.
In this vlog you can see cozy last days of studying before the summer holidays. We are finishing our artworks, giving them final touches and making an examination exhibition! Also you will see some of diploma projects of senior students:)

So wonderful to see. The awards process is so much better than how The Ontario College of Art conducted it's self. Another year to apply yourself. Competence is what you acquire, your aesthetic sense is what you already have.

remember to appreciate your surroundings especially when you are in uni my friend. those feelings will be forever in your heart. and i think this video will aged well tbh imo. nice documentary ! also i feel like inside of russia there is alot of chill and relax place. the vibe itself is so serene.

you mean where I studied before this uni? I just loved to draw since childhood, but I began to study more professionally at the age of 14 and at 17 I entered this university. Now Im 20

Im supposed to be in uni like everyone else from my class but my senior year got fucked over now im just existing and reminded just how nothing i truly am everyday, i havent drawn in months figure ill just find some mud to rot in soon
It's okay, there definitely will be an opportunity for you to feel complete. I am sure you will get what you want from yourself. Just keep waiting and explore yourself every day, maybe you find something magical.

@@skoruno1 being skilful is a requirement to make good art, and that takes learning and practice. a lot of art schools nowadays are daycare for rich kids and nothing of value happens. due to the soviet union, russia is spared the art ideology/establishment and business-oriented operation of most art schools in western countries that has made the quality of their art and teaching decline severely. and i say this as someone who isn't interested in academic art. there is either skill or there isn't. also the supposed quality of art that is not technical skills is in fact comprised of skills that must be learnt and honed. so it is all skill. so mastery does make good art. and in that good art there is a large range left for taste and style and intention.

Hey I'm an art student myself and sometimes I find myself being lost with my creativity and the places I have the hardest learning. Would you have any tips or advice to share??
It always helps me to look at good paintings by other artists - old masters or talented artists of our time. other people's good art can teach a lot, they motivate not to give up and inspire to create! so yeah looking at other people's art is a very big and important part of learning
You use acrylic color with paint???

I wish I went to fine arts school instead of architecture....
Heey architecture is soooo cool, You guys are so creative, I personally would love to study it i mean all this wonderful projects and layouts seems very interesting to do
I sometimes watch how architectural models are made with all the details, artificial grass, wood, etc. and these cool building shapes that I could never come up with, in my eyes being an architect is very cool😍
That' a LOT of paintings! And there are some amazing one, but still worry me... It's like a factory where young artists make and make artworks.
Where do these paintings go after tge University? Do we need them all?
Painting and sculpting are not cheap...
And I can't imagine how many works of art have been produced in an Art Uni
(And I say this with mixed feelings becouse i also study at Art University)
these are all educational artworks, the purpose of their creation is to gain experience. they do not carry great artistic value, this is study, these artworks are not for society, but for the person who creates them, this is his practice and the development of his abilities, because if you do nothing you will not learn anything :)
@@ksyelf5820 I agree. And i also think that the basics of every kind of art is academic and realistic illustration. But still that "waste" (sorry for that word, don't take it in a bad way) is a problem becouse we use a lot of expensive material just for study. Maybe we should recicle the paintings and scupltures... And that's an interesting challenge.
@@eszticsorba2330 at my uni every second paints on top of their work from previous semesters, and sculptors in general all recycle their work into materials after exams, they take them apart and use plasticine and clay for the next work, so this is not a problem:)but I feel sorry for their sculptures🥲 they make cool life-sized figures, but of course no one has a place to store them, and it's hard to sell, so their fate is predetermined, after exams they become just clay(

Russia might be dysfunctional, but you have to admit that their art training has always been good. Even some modern media stars like Ilya Kuvshinov come from that background. It is one of the only good things I can say about Russia.
Do they still offer free uni and the like? Has there been any plans to reduce or stop it some day?
I prefer the art made at Goldsmith University

most russians don’t know about the unprovoked attack, they are told that ukraine started it so… I would say everyone is trying to pretend like everything is fine/ going back to soviet times

I guess that's the mentality that led to putin being able to turn russia to a totalitarian regime - making people think they shouldn't be involved in any decisions their country makes, "just stay out of politics, we will make all the decisions for you, our lovely stupid sheep".
