On the exterior of the Carnival you will find bold muscular lines, 19in wheels, all new sheet metal and LED lighting. Never in a million years I would have thought to look at a "minivan" but this MPV is amazing! Would be perfect for all our road trips. Sadly I live in the northeast and I am a health care worker..... So no AWD is a deal breaker for me. I NEED to be able to make it to work no matter the weather. I also wish the prestige still had the option of the 3 seats on the second row.
Awd is on the way.
I just test drove the Dodge Grand Caravan on Tuesday and then went to Kia and drove and bought the Carnival SX Prestige What a difference!

I have palisade 2021 SEL. And i just saw this exact color and top trim today,i approached the guy when he was parking at safeway parking lot and asked him about his carnival.i felt jealouse because this one has more room and the 2nd row vip seats.eventhough i loved my palisade's front end (especially the DRL) i probably trade it in for this instead.yes only this top trim SX prestige.

For almost $50K for Carnival taking about everything going up. It better be a great family van cost that much watch out Toyota and Honda. Kia and Hyundai are really stepping up their game its a nice van though but couldn't pay that much for a minivan would buy a Mazda CX-5 or Rogue ... heck you do better buying the new 2022 Pathfinder at least doesn't have that drone CVT anymore or a Suburban or Expedition. Having owned a '16 Sedona and a '19 Pacifica, I can say that the Pacifica is better if you're hauling kids and the Carnival would be better if you're hauling adults. The Carnival has better 2nd row seats and they're ventilated. The can also move fore and aft to accommodate 3rd row passengers. The lounge seating really kicks the luxury up a notch. The 2nd row sunroof also opens, which I believe is a class exclusive. The Pacifica's 2nd row seat comfort is less comfortable, but kids are generally less picky about seat cushions. If they are in safety seats, then comfort is moot. The 2nd row seats pivot forward on the front hinges allowing access to the 3rd row without having to remove the child seat. The Stow n Go well makes for great storage for kid's stuff like toys and emergency clothes/diapers. The rear seat entertainment system is better with built in games and apps like Are We There Yet. The movies played can be controlled from the front to entertain kids trapped in a 5 point harness.
JOSEPH ~ nice color pretty cool lights & face. pretty sure wheels for a non mini van, AWD would be good. I'm a fan of brushed aluminum - thinking the side view is solid & whammy's. the butt is nice & yeah I concur - why place the rear safety lights at the bottom? not a speed racer engine, but for a MPV it'll get ya to Costco or the school. gloss black = fingerprints & DUST. I'm OCD - can't handle it. now the dash is incredible. seems like a nice deal for mom's an/or families. great stuff Joe - tony

Yeahhh. My son n law just got it last week after a long wait on the chip . This color and rims. Super sharp looking. He went the model one level,lower ( not sure of the name) not to lose the 8th seat. I myself was impressed with its size , convenience and power it has for its size The Grandkids think it another playground.
The macaroni technicians scratched the black cover under the hood while changing the chip. Seriously morons. It’s going back 🤦🏼♂️
Going to be hard to decide between this and the Sienna
AWD does give the Sienna an edge. Also the 1500 was inverter for the Sienna compared to the 100 watt one for the Carnival is a knock. On the other hand the top Platinum Sienna has no ventilation for its second row VIP seats.
Extra power with the Carnival's 6 cylinder versus extra gas mileage with the Sienna. Tough trade off.
Infofotainment screens for the top level also merit comparison. Sounds like resolution for Toyota's back up camera is poor. Curious how the Toyota JBL compares to Carnival's Bose top sound systems. Anyone had a chance to compare?
Just bought my first Kia and it is a Kia Carnival. Initially, I was seeking a Telluride but caught a glimpse of this in the Fiery Red SX Prestige and my heart was smitten. I love everything about this vehicle. I've always been an SUV individual so for me, this is NOT A MINI VAN!! I'm in love 😍
Kia and Hyundai are killing it with their vehicles! This Carnevale is NICE and that interior leaves me speechless! The ford Flex i believe offered the first MPV crossover? Loving me some "On throttle " from Joe!

I feel bad for toyota. They made the sienna 2021, its extremely popular. In NYC I seen these siennas hybrid. The carnival might be popular for big families or uber rides.

I myself from Canada has ordered the top most SX trim with reclining seats and waiting for the delivery. I really wish Kia kept the door handles like a normal SUV. As it has power doors, no need to place the handles like a mini van. It should've been a great SUV look without adjacent handles..Kia pls do it so in the future, also please find a way to hide those tracks. It's easily doable, weld a small long thin piece of metal over the moving part, when the door opens, the part pops up and out with the internal lever. When the door closes, it will close and hide the gap..

Joe great review as always! This MPV was on my radar but after watching your Pacifica Limited review and having driven one just last week, I'm a proud owner of a 2020 Limited S model and absolutely love it. The unique features such as the u connect which in my opinion is the best in the market, stow n go and a sunroof for the 3rd seat passengers, really did it for me. If the KIA was priced a little lower (Canadian pricing) it would have been a very difficult decision. This is a home run for KIA. Honda, Toyota are going to have some stiff competition. Thanks as always for your great content.

Hey 👋 good morning, I like this KIA CARNIVAL I am impressed with it. If I was in the market for a mini-van sorry MPV this would be my choice and I am a SUV fan but would make the switch. The only draw back is they need an AWD option 🤔 since I currently live up north.

Redline Review actually manipulated the 2nd row seats into position and fully reclined while in it, then returned, showing it more fully. I recommend this important detail.

Love this vehicle but two major issues.
No AWD and can't get sunroof without going Prestige trim which loses the ability to remove the second row. I have to be able to remove those seats.
Lose too many features dropping to the SX level.
I really want to get the Carnival but it annoys me that you can't get the SX Prestige features in an 8 passenger configuration. Kia needs to offer an option package in the SX trim which should include all the extra features of the SX Prestige without the VIP lounge seats.
I agree!! I want everything in the SX Prestige... but with 8 seats 😭
@@brittanyellisrhorer1919 You just reminded me that I need to make my case on the Kia forums and other social media so maybe someone at Kia will see it and listen. In the Canadian market there's a EX+ trim between the EX and SX (which is the same as the US market SX Prestige) and the EX+ includes some of the extra features of the SX Prestige in an 8 seat configuration. This gives me hope that Kia can be convinced to create a technology package for the SX trim.

@@bigk0101 Thanks. I saw an article a few days about the 2023 Carnival which mentioned that the SX got more features. I need to see a 2023 brochure so I can see if the SX got almost all the tech features of the SX Prestige except the VIP lounge seats.
Edit: I just saw that the 2023 is already on Kia's US website. As I was comparing the trims I got concerned as I was scrolling through the comparison seeing that the SX didn't get all the SX Prestige features but then I saw they changed the VIP lounge seats from standard to optional on the SX Prestige. Smart move Kia!
@@SamKhoury yea I love that they did that. I want the all digital display and the moon roofs with the real leather. I just don’t want the monitors behind the front seats cause of rear facing car seats. I also wanted the 8 seater. So now that the SXP can give me that and it’s actually a bit cheaper than the SXP from last year it’s a perfect trim for me

How come Kia and Huyndai sell cheap cars with touch beautiful screens but yet Acura Lexus Honda Toyota and all of them still put screens from 10 years ago like honestly man Kia and Huyndai doing the right thing I’m tired of seeing 50k or 60k Acura with ugly screens or Lexus that’s like 100k with old screens no touch nothing getting annoying now days even Acura type s 2021 got a screen that looks like from 10 years ago and no touch screen they need to start following Kia and Huyndai steps before they go out of business because I live in Canada Toronto and I see tons of kias and Huyndais because people appreciate all the technology they put in for cheap price if I wanted any cheap car I would definitely go for Huyndai I would never think of Honda Toyota Acura or Lexus Huyndai is the best for the money for what they offer every single car they make got tons of features for cheap price Huyndai palisade is my favourite suv so far 50k Canadian fully loaded luxury you won’t find that in any Acura or Lexus for that price every time joe review any Japanese car and I see those old screens I stop the video and don’t continue I just can’t accept it
I Own a Pacifica and dad owns a '22 Carnival. The Pacifica is a tighter more quality thicker feel and the engine seems quieter, smoother and more refined that vibrates less. The Carnival is very nice especially with the new exterior look but the Pacifica is a little more luxury and pricier for a reason...
Just read a article out of south Korea that they are stopping production one the kia stinger to make room to make a hybrid and electric carnival for 2022-2023 so that should have AWD for the Northern customers!!!! BTW my Carnival SX Prestige is getting delivered on Saturday cant wait for it!!!!!
Android Auto not being wireless is unforgivable. I'll pass on the $10000 savings of the Carnival and buy a Pacifica! IT'S THAT IMPORTANT!!!!
