I have the Sony XM3 Headset, Xbox Wireless Headset, PS5 and Series X (no hate!!). I contacted Sony regarding the connection between PS4/5 and the Sony premium headset XM3 (the XM4 wasn‘t released yet) and Sonys answer why it didn‘t work: Sony Entertainment department and Sony HiFi/Headset department have nothing to do with each other. Sadly the Sony company is so divided between the different departments, that they don’t even care about synergies they could pull between their products. I play a lot on different devices, use lots of different products from different manufacturers, but Sony is one of the worst. The only reason I got the PS5 is because Sony delivers magnificent SP games! I really enjoy those, but for MP I stick to the Xbox and PC. And there I can use the Xbox Wireless Headset for both + phone. I mean when I‘m on a call with my bro via Xbox headset and have it simultaneously connected to the Xbox, I can have the phone call and still hear the sound of the game. MS might not have the best SP games, but they surely know how to build great HW and how to make it universal useful.
Get a Creative BT-W2 Dongle. With this Dongle you can connect the Xbox Headset with your ps5. Audio output only. Then you Need to Use the DualSense mic.
I can Pair them with my samsung Q8D via bluetooth and them get the sound from the tv to this headset. Because i have hdmi from Nintendo Switch directly to my tv. I get the sound from the tv to the headphones when the switch is docked. I dont have ps5 yet But i think it woud work there aswell because it is the tvsound that is in my xbox headphones :) So even if you cant connect them direct to the Nintendo Switch or ps5 it works when you connect them to the tv 👍👍

Yeah i tried bluetooth once and it was unusable because of the delay, not sure what version it was and if it's gotten better since but if it's anything like that it's not particularly odd that they flat out don't support it. But yeah I guess I have to check out if the wired one works or something else that works for both Xbox and playstation because I'd rather not get one for each.

PS5 doesn't pair with bluetooth headsets. Neither does PS4. The headset doesn't pair with the Xbox via bluetooth either if I'm to guess, I believe it connects via RF signal
You are right on second point, it uses the Xbox wireless protocol (which is a modified wi-fi) and you can connect it to PC either by Bluetooth or with the Xbox dongle. But just like Shevon I always thought PS4 (and 5) supported BT headsets. Damn.

Confirmed - it works on the Switch i tried it the day they did the update and no problem. Though the audio is a tiny bit delayed

I have HyperX wireless headset with a dongle. I put the dongle in my PS5 front USB slot and the headset works fine.

If you have the Wireless adaptor for Windows 10, it might work , it uses 2.4 ghz since both the ps5 and ps4 don't support bluetooth headsets
