Captain Joey 100% fact. I for one loved Sonic Heroes. However that game was debatably a larger part of my childhood than any other game. I’ve played and replayed that game over and over since I got it for Christmas when the GameCube was brand new so I am VERY biased.
Your tones always get me man. Also this soundtrack is so memorable for me. Love it every time I hear it. When I heard TheDelRe's rendition of Seaside Hill a few years back now, I just continued to look forward to more VGM artists to make more amazing covers for the Sonic Heroes ost. This is so well done, and I can't wait to hear more Sonic Heroes and other VGM from you too :)
While I don't know how does this sound pop-punk except for a couple of segments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Sea Gate deserved some screentime!
I'm always hesitant to call my stuff any genre specific stuff because I just arrange without thinking about genres, I guess this is what I think pop punk is to me
To me it's like the "pop mosh" style of bands like A Day To Remember and Four Year Strong. Basically pop punk combined with post hardcore and metalcore
You've definitely got at least 4-8 views (minimum) from Canada in the last 48 hours or so, haha -- i just can't stop listening to this! Seriously, so catchy and amazing, man. You made Jun Senoue even better.
Dude, this is super good! I'm liking the new drums, and the guitar tones sound as good as ever! The only advice I'd offer in my extremely uneducated opinion is that sometimes it kind of sounded like the cymbals were a little drowned out and could use a bit of a boost. Around 1:47 I think is the best example of that. I can't really get into specifics because, like I said, I know nothing, so take the suggestion with a grain of salt. I still stand by what I said a while ago about hating this game, but man the soundtrack is super catchy and memorable! Your Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion cover is by far my favorite of yours to date, and I wouldn't be sad to hear you doing more from this game! Awesome cover!
I don't care what you think about Sonic Heroes, the soundrack is top-teir.

Captain Joey
So you don’t care if it’s the game that introduced me to video games?
I would admit that is true
Agreed. Mystic mansion theme is fucking iconic to this day
this feels like one of those scenes in a movie were the main character is setting up something big
*boulders rolling down* "...aaaaah there's two of them!!!" "Looks like his buddy's joining the party!"
"Everyone get out of the way! Here we go!"
"whoa, my head's spinning!"
"Dashaaa!""
One of the first games I remember playing, the soundtrack will always have a special place in my heart

I patiently await the day you cover Egg Fleet from Heroes, that will be glorious

To be fair, recently pop punk has been taking hints from metalcore... In my days they were more punk-y.

These tones are too heavy to be pop punk but sounds great either way.
hardcore
This is not pop punk.
Good cover tho. I just think if you put "metalcore" would be better.
